NAME
Codename: Alchemist
Legal Name: Albert William Quince
Former Alias(es): Kevin Lambert
Nicknames: Al, Doc

PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION
Gender: Male
Age: 36
Height: 5' 11"
Weight: 157 lbs
Ethnicity: Caucasian
Hair Color: Brown
Eye Color: Hazel, more on the green side
Appearance: Al is fit even though he is getting into his later thirties. Luckily he has not had to worry about balding or graying yet. He has an angular face but otherwise average features. He likes to keep his hair short and usually had it gelled up. There are no viable scars, tattoos, or piercings on him.

The walks with an air of importance and confidence that demands respect. His posture is perfect and he tends to be very formal. In both action and appearance. When he is not in uniform or exercise clothes, it's very hard to catch him in something other then a button up, tie, and suit coat.

PSYCHOLOGICAL PROFILE
Orientation: Straight
Personality: Albert is first and foremost a proper man. He follows an outdated form of shivery that the current world is lacking. He is polite and adheres to the niceties of polite society. That coupled with a keen sense of honor and fact that he keeps his word make Albert a good friend and generally pleasant to be around.

Nothing will stop him from fighting for what he believes in. He will willingly risk his own life to protect the innocent. Loyal to the end he can be counted on to keep going no matter what.

Albert is also a teacher, there are very few things that being him more joy than sharing knowledge with the next generation. He has a way with children that impresses most teachers. Instead of a positive reinforcement or punishment system, he simply expects his students to behave and let's them know exactly what he expects. For the most part, the children rise to his expectations.

He is a great lover of classical music and opera. Although not terribly taken with most modern music, he dislikes very little of it. That being the case, he knows far more than most people would expect on that topic because it helps him identify with the new generation.

As for the romance department, it's not that he is avoiding it, rather he takes his work and teaching to devote much of his time pursuing women. In his younger days he was quite a charmer.

He doesn't have many pet peeves, but he is a little anal retentive and is constantly cleaning up. Though he is strongly against intolerance and prejudice and will not stand for it in his Center.

Psychological Weaknesses: Dr. Quince will often put himself in unnecessary danger to protect others, he is also too caring and trusting and seems naive because of it. He also constantly second guesses the decisions he has made, worried he didn't do enough or that his actions lead to someone's misfortune.

Goals: Short term he is looking to get the Legacy Center established and help the people that have come there for refuge. In the long run he is working to get humanity to a point where it no longer fears magic or advanced technology, or that which it does not understand. He wants to see the planet united as we start to crawl out into the cosmos.

ABILITIES
Power: Albert is a dinucleic alchemist. He has the ability to manipulate dinucleic material with his mind be changing it's chemical and atomic properties. By raising or lowering the melting ans vaporization point he can make the material melt, freeze, vaporize, or condense. He can cause it to change shape by altering it's surface tension properties.

He possesses the ability to sense dinucleic substances with his mind. He has to be relatively close to perceive specifics. He can also enhance his vision into the infrared and radio frequencies be adding dinucleic metals to the nerve endings in his retinas.

This is not a unique ability, dinucleic alchemy is taught in a few places around the world. The training is very similar to tai chi.

Power Weaknesses: It is difficult for Al to manipulate ore than one kind of substance at a time. It also tires him faster if he is manipulating more mass. If he overextends himself he can fall unconscious and in extreme cases, a coma. A large enough electric discharge, in either the substance he is manipulating or in his own body, will temporarily disable his ability to manipulate that substance.

Power Source: Dinucleic materials
Power Complexity and Basis: Level 4, Alchemy
Fighting Skills: Albert is the highest level of Alchemist, while not a strictly combat oriented training, it does lend toward combat readiness. He has also had training with broadswords, katanas, shurikens, tonfas, bowstaff, chain, and basic unarmed defense.
Physical Weaknesses: Albert is just as susceptible to injury, sickness, and death as a normal human. He also has a congenital defect that has weakened one I'd the sinuses in this brain. With too much exertion or random chance it could burst and he would suffer an aneurysm. While with the Center's current medical technology it would most likely not be fatal, it would but him out for quite a while and may cause permanent brain damage.
Other Skills: He holds a PhD in physics and has a teaching degree. An avid reader, he has a sizable knowledge of classical and modern literature. He plays piano and violin and is quite a talented singer. He also has an amazing sense of empathy and can easily understand how others are feeling.

CONTACTS
Contacts: Anyone your character keeps in regular touch with. Friends, business associates, old college roommates, neighbors? Do not list family.
Relatives: Anyone to whom your character is related.
Enemies: Any enemies your character may have. Please don't just write something like "enemies of the Legacy Foundation." Even if there are no villains targeting them, everyone had personal enemies, even if its just the bully from your old school and the Dinkleberges across the street with the 1-up-you-everything.

HISTORY
Please write at least a few paragraphs. This should be an overview of the major events of your characters life. So things like childhood events that had a huge impact on them, when their powers appeared, major accomplishments, etc. The more unique and interesting this section is, the easier it will be to write and the more you'll have to work with. If you look at the history section of the Information forum, you can find major events to involve your character with.

Don't worry about making it too long. However this should not be in story format, just an over view. See other bios for an idea of what we are looking for.

As the story progresses, you will be able to add major story arcs to this section.

SAMPLE POST
We at Legacy pride ourselves on a certain level of quality here at the site. As a result, you must include a sample post of your character so we can get a feel for your level of writing before approval. Our standards are not too strict, but this does help to keep the overall quality of the site at a satisfactory level.

The writing format for out board is third person, past tense. Please write at least three paragraphs of at least 5 sentences each, however we strongly encourage you to write more. This is generally the first bit of writing someone looking up your character will see and can help set their impression of your character. We ask that you include dialog and interaction with someone (just make the person up; like a sibling or teacher, even random person on the street.) as well as a little bit of thought process.
