The Entrance Exam And Dorms The Entrance Exam dictates whether you are accepted into Brightopolis Prep, and also determines which dorm you place in. It's divided into two stages. First is Orientation, which (much like Legacy's Your House) is where you flesh your character out a bit, introduce their Pokémon (either their own or the one appointed to them) and have them arrive at the school. The second is the Test, where the student will undergo a simulated battle with an instructor using the academy's Pokémon. Both Pokémon will be level 50, and both will be of types neutral to each other (no Water-types trying to take out a Fire-type). Your abilities displayed in Orientation and the Test will result in your dorm placement. Dorm placement is determined as follows: Articuno Blue: Student must show exemplary writing in Orientation, must win battle and use effective strategy. Zapdos Yellow: Student must show average writing in Orientation and win battle without utilizing advanced strategies, OR show average writing in Orientation and lose battle but display use of advanced strategy. Moltres Red: Student must show average or below writing in Orientation and lose the battle utilizing no or insufficient strategy. There are benefits to being placed in a particular dorm. All students receive a monthly allowance on the first of every month, and are given other benefits as well, as follows: Articuno Blue: Starter at level 15, monthly allowance of 1500z Zapdos Yellow: Starter at level 10, monthly allowance of 1000z Moltres Red: Starter at level 5, monthly allowance of 500z GPA GPA, or Grade Point Average, is the measurement of a student's progress in class. It operates on a scale of 0.0 to 4.0, with .5 increments. You receive +.5 for every class enrolled in (joining and attending the class) and +.5 for every class completed (finished the class, did the homework assignment and finished the final exam). Your GPA starts at 1.5 as you are required to enroll in at least three classes per semester. Any student who completes a full three classes will have a GPA of 3.0. Any non-participating, disruptive or problematic students can be dropped at the discretion of the faculty member from the class, which results in losing out in a whole 1.0 GPA. Students must take three classes, but can take anywhere up to five (meaning, GPA cannot go over 2.5 without finishing a class). Students with a 4.0 GPA at the end of each semester will be on the Honor Roll. Courses operate at the faculty's discretion, but must contain one homework assignment (again, at the teacher's discretion, but should hopefully be some sort of task that the student must do outside of the classroom) and a final exam (again, entirely up to the teacher's discretion). If you want to change your dorm, you can opt to take a Dorm Change Exam at the end of any semester. This is a battle between you and an instructor or (in rare cases) a student placed in the dorm you wish to join. To qualify, you require a GPA of 3.5 or higher. Conversely, any student not maintaining a 3.0 GPA will be forced to stay in the dorm they're in (Moltres Red excepted). Those with a GPA of 2.0 or lower at the end of a semester will automatically be downgraded. Honor Roll All students who achieve a 4.0 at the end of the semester are considered on the Honor Roll. When placing on the Honor Roll, you will be given a pokeball (one of the few ways to obtain one), and for the entire next semester you will recieve an additional 1000z with every allowance.
