What a stunning spring day. The sun was shining on the beautiful newly finished landscape, radiating just enough warmth to promise a bright, new beginning. The various construction crews had been working nonstop ever since the President of Opaddeka commissioned the new boarding school. What better place to properly train the next generation of great pokemon trainers than in the city that reminded us for the need? Had the invasion of Brightopolis by the enemy Jgsei forces never happened, we might not have ever realized just how much of a valuable resource strong, determined, and prepared trainers were to the Opaddeka region. And now there is a place to make sure that that is a resource we never run out of. Talented young trainers from all over the region were being ushered in to the breathtaking new Exam Hall, a giant dome with stadium seating to make sure there was a place for everyone. The main arena was similarly impressive, a massive area perfect for hosting pokemon battles. Today, though, there would be no battle. Not at the moment, anyway. At the moment, the Exam Hall was being used to introduce the new students to their new Headmaster, the grandmaster of these events. The stage was set in the middle of the stadium, and when all of the arrivals had been funneled in and taken their seats, the faculty that had already arrived at the school emerged from the hallway leading out of the locker rooms. New students would get to know all of these individuals soon, but after they had taken their seat, the real star of the show appeared. Everything from the way he moved to his small gestures of welcome exuded confidence. He was a tall man, probably late thirties or early fourties, with a grizzled appearance from his many, many years as a pokemon trainer. His eyes were piercing blue, and his dark brown hair was buzzed to a very short length. If he wasn't so well known, you would have thought he was a general or commander in the army by his appearance. But every knew who he was, and thus they knew better. This man was John Shepard, now Headmaster Shepard, former Champion of the Opaddeka League. He may have lost his title several years ago to Lauren Thomas, the current Champion, but she certainly didn't come in and walk all over him. No, the Shepard's battle with Lauren is one of the most storied battles in Opaddeka history, with both trainers walking away with tremendous respect for one another. It was respect, in fact, that brought Lauren to nominate Shepard for the position of Headmaster, a role that would see him shaping the futures of some of Opaddeka's most promising talents. He took to the mic and cleared his throat. This was the moment they had all been waiting for. "Greetings, young trainers, and welcome to Brightopolis Prep! In order to just enroll here, you must have proven, one way or another, that you have a place here. In the days and months to come, we'll be forging ahead, helping to create something here in the rubble that we can be proud of. Bare with us. For most of us, being an educator isn't most of first expertise. But we have assembled, for you, some of the finest trainers in the region to teach you. We are here for you at every bend and turn on the road to helping you reach your full potential." He stopped, wiping the sweat off of his brow with arm of his blue jacket. "So, who's ready to begin their journey here at Brightopolis Prep? Who's ready to take their entrance exams and find out where they are going to be spending the next semester?" He stopped, not for his own sake, but because of the students, who enthusastically began to shout and cheer from the stands. "Who's ready to take their destiny by the balls and show this world just what they are made of!?" |
