I recently got the chance to check out this game it kicks major hairy balls. You get to be pretty much any of your favourite characters from the show and complete their personal story modes as well you can yourself go through the Academy process and become the next Kage. Also collect tons of crap practive combos as well as beating the crap out of others with Secret Special Techniques and learn more about each characters story.

So that makes what, 4 or 5 games in the last year??? I'd be more interested if I liked the show, but I don't really enjoy the show. Maybe's it's because I know ninja's were never really honorable, and so I guess the idea of ninja's being hero's doesn't sit right with me. Maybe if Naruto was some badass anti-heo or something....

If you can take all that aside, the game is really fun.

The games are pretty fun, I acknowledge this, although in my opinion, their basically like the DBZ budokai games except with ninjas...... Like almost the same exact battle system.

Well except the fact that none of them can transform into Saijins or shoot energy balls. Also the fact that in DBZ there is no Chakra level. I care to look at it like Street Fighter Alpha in some cases.

Well sure no transformations in Naruto, however, the only thing that transformations do is increase one's total amount of Ki bars, and certain attacks become available, similar to chakra levels. Also certain Naruto characters can do attacks that involve shooting something. Plus the teleport behind opponent, attacks that involve cutscenes, and button tapping struggles are features in both games.

Button tapping also was added in FFVIII for Zell's Duel Limit Break. Also the teleport thing is something a ninja was supposed to be able to do manga wise. It is true that Sasuke Uchiha is able to breathe fire but that's not coming from his body but created out of pure energy. Also the the chakra levels only allow the character to execute a more powerful Special Technique nothing more.

Well yse but still that basically is the model that DBZ follows, just shaped differently.

yeah I guess but at least there are no Super Saijin stages in Naruto which makes the game I guess a bit more believable and the fact that none of them can fly.

True, though, the concept of believability might not apply very well to either game, since Naruto features giant animals, a boy who can turn into a naked girl for a second, ninja's replacing themselves with tree logs when they disappear, and ninja's that are good...... but I'm just ranting... ;)

Actually now that I think about it, I think they stole the whole concept of the Nine Tailed Fox from Pokemon (Ninetails).

Well the whole idea of a fox with extra tails up to the point of 9 is from the Japanese folklore of Kitsunes. The Japanese consider foxes, kitsunes in Japanese, as magical beings that are very wise, and the extra tails represent the kitsunes wisdom and power. A kitsune with 9 tails is considered to become omnipotent. So Naruto didn't steal the concept from Pokemon, they just both decided to use some old Japanese folk lore in making there games. Under the same coin, Tails of the Sonic the Hedgehog series is based off of the mythical kitsunes, and thus is why Tails is a genius, despite only have 2 out of nine tails.

Well Pokemon came out first and Ninetails was in Pokemon red but nonetheless it's an age old Japanese legend and therefore it's up for grabs for anybody.

I still kind of smell rip off because in the Japanese legends, Kitsunes were believed to be noble and benevolent creatures not evil despicable denisons of deception like ninjas. (talk about alliteration.  )

well depends on how you look at it, seeing as kitsunes have also been considered tricksters, and to sometimes feed off of the life force of humans, if not possess them...

Not really, that whole concept comes from the legend about foxes themselves because foxes themselves were tricksters and used their slyness against their assailants. And that legend then was applied against Kitsunes as well even though they weren't but rather became that from the words of humans.

Kitsune is the Japanese word for Fox, and therefore they are one in the same. Basically the legends just suggested it was easy to find a one tailed kitsune (thus, a fox) but hard to find a kitsune with multiple tails. So the suggestion of them being tricksters is automatic.
