Speaking about drinking...I can still feel the after effects...And the migrane.

But Merry X-Mas to everybody.

Well firstly the only alchohol I have ever consumed was when I was told that a drink was chocolate milk when it was actually khaluha and even then it was one mouthful, so no it is doubtful that at any point I consumed alcohol today.

If you don't mind me saying, isn't it contradictive of either of you to celebrate Christmas, since it is of Christian origin rather then Wiccan, especially you Nightmare, what with you being an avatar or something like that.

I don't celebrate it, but rather just get drunk on that day cause Christmas is also a Pagan holiday where one would just drink and nothing. All originated from the Woads.

But I still wish others who do celebrate a merry Christ-mas.

Pagans as in the typical definition of faithless hillbillies?

Woads? Funny how thats just a word for a type of blue dye made from a plant of the same name, and no such "religion" is actually recorded in databases listing world religions.

And wouldn't heavy consumption of alcohol be a poor choice since it can often lead to selfish actions?

The Woads where a group of people (Pagans yes) which occupied Birtannia before the Angels and the Saxons ever settled there. The rough estimate or their origination is still unkown but most believe that they where there prior to the Roman invasions.

No, Pangans as in they worship elements and other things instead of specific Gods. An example would be the Mongols. They were Pagans because their god was Krom, the Sky God. Those kinds of Pagans.

Yes excessive consumption of alcohol is a bad idea, but it's one of the only days I get to relax from my job. Same goes for New Years.

But that definition for Pagans did not exist until recently, and the term Pagan itself is not considered as any type of religion, including element worship.

There is still no record of the Woads that I can find, not in great Britain.

By the way, you mean anglo-saxons

Actually no. The Anglo-Saxons were once two different peoples who waged wars against each other for control of Britannia until the Romans came back to reclaim it. Knowing that they both would be whiped out if they continued their wars, they banded together and kicked the Romans permentately from Britannia (around the time of the Fall of the Western Roman Empire). Soon after, the Angels and Saxons returned to their civil wars until the invaders from the north (Scotland) tried to take their country. Finally they decided to put aside their differences and band together as on peoples and started Medieval Britain (although still refered to as Britannia).

-my family is christian so whether i like it or not, i get pulled in, but even being wiccan i still enjoy the familiy visits that are required by this holiday, i also like the community type things my area does.
-and besides, alot of christian traditions, (apologies if i'm repeating anything from above) originate in pagan ritual and tradition so alot of the christian celebrations my family have are what i do in my own rituals occasionally.

also there are alot of members on here who are christian and do the whole christmas thing wholeheartedly and the topic is open to everyone, not because i myself am in love with christmas day lol
