Part three in the Star Ocean Saga the story follows Fayt Leingod and Sophia Esteed separated from their colony and parents by a brutal invasion Vendeen Empire. Fayt who escapes into a life pod is crashed on to a "underdeveloped planet" called Vanguard III. There he finds evidence of another evolved being trifling with it's inhabitants turning them into slaves under the power of his Ray Gun. Though reluctant at first to help due to the PP3 Law (Planet Protectorate Plan) which states that evolved beings must not meddle with affairs of underdeveloped planets. A key point of the game is it's unique battle and magic system. Unlike other RPGs, Star Ocean features a completely active battle system where the other party members act freely on their own without needing commands from the player. Also somewhat similar to the Legend of Dragoon battle system characters in Star Ocean also have addition type attacks with two varying types of attacks; heavy and light attacks. Also the magic system in the game by far is completely different from the rest name wise as well as casting. The magic system called "Symbology" is a process where characters must have tattoos on their body to cast spells also if a character is attacked while casting the spell is interrupted and the character must cast again (no MP points are wasted unless the spell is successfully cast). Te game flows on a different battle system called "Fury" were characters must have fury to attack physically or utilize addition attacks, which do cost HP points to use (amount depends on which slot the ability is placed in [heavy or light]). Characters: Fayt Leingod (Main) - Earthling, Weapon: Sword Sophia Esteed (2ndary) - Earthling, Weapon: Staff & Symbology Cliff Fitir - Klausian, Weapon: Gauntlets Nel Zelpher - Elicoorian, Weapon: Knives & Runology Maria Traydor - Earthling, Weapon: Gun Additional Characters: Rodger S. Huxley - Medonix, Weapon: Axe Peppita Rossetti - Velbaysian, Weapon: Bangles Albel Nox a.k.a. Albel the Wicked - Elicoorian, Weapon: Katana & Claws Adray Lasbard (Director's Cut only) - Elicoorian, Weapon: Katana & Symbology Mirage Koas (Director's Cut only) - Klausian, Weapon: Gauntlets Star Ocean: Till the End of Time |

I played this about a year ago and I must admit that it is one of the best RPGs out for the PS2. I'd say it's up there with .hack// G.U

I'm still plugging along trying to collect the .hack//Infection/Mutation/Outbreak/Quarantine set before plying the G.U. |
