Well, i picked up a Dragon version from Gamestop a few days ago, and seeing as how i beat it today, i figure'd i'd let you in on a few points about it in the form of a Review. Story: 8.5/10 It's got enough of that BN-equse 'Good guys unite!' crap in it that you KNOW it's BN's answer to the X series. The twists are better hidden and more likely to throw you off when they occur then in BN games(especially the one concerning the Fifth FM-ian Storyline Boss) so it doesn't TOTALLY tank out. The puzzles range from easy as pie to rip-your-hair-out challenging, and<SPOILERS> the Final Boss is, THANK YOU GOD, only a one-fight wonder. Yes, it does transform, but it doesn't go back to the overworld causing it to fully heal.</SPOILERS> Graphics: 9.5/10 They're almost Legends quality. The way the viruses and bosses appear and manuver is flawless, and it's all-around one of the best looking Megaman Games i've seen in a long time. Sound: 9/10 Some of the sound effects sound like they're from ZX, but the rest of the soundtrack definitely gives off a very BN-esque vibe. Gameplay: 10/10 The 3D battle sequences are where this game TRUELY shines. Sure, you can only move left and right, but press down on the D-Pad to enter Lock-On mode, when in Megaman can lock onto an enemy in from of him, or to his diagonals. Then when you use non time-stopping battle cards, you zoom in and unleash your attack right in their face, which is how swords are effective when you can't move forward, in a way that is akin to the Beast-Out's lock on from BN6. And you can press the Y button to block most attacks! The countering system is also re-vamped. seeing as how you can't go Full-Syncro anymore, you get a bonus copy of ANY of your battle cards. That's right. You hit a counter on a boss with a standard card, your bonus card could be a Mega or Giga card(i've used two DragonSkyGX chips in one turn like that). When using your game's Star Force, a counter will instead give you a Star Force Big Bang, which is a Giga-class Battle Card you only get for that turn, but it's usually powerful enough to finish off a group of Viruses or but a MAJOR dent in a boss. PAs have been switched out for the 'Best Combo' system, which is basicly a combo of three or more cards that does over 300 damage to an EX or SP level boss in one turn(The highest i've gotten is 690). Late in the game, you can visit Legend Master Shin to turn your Personal Best Combo(the one that shows up on yoru Brother Band Profile) into a 'Legend Force' Battle Card for 3000 zenny. You can have up to 10 Legend force cards, but only one can be put in your folder and they vanish after one use, but they are PERFECT for wailing on Bosses to make your life easier, jsut remember to put another one in before the next boss fight. <SPOILERS>There's also three bosses how act like Gutsman in BN1-3, as in you can fight them OVER AND OVER without issue.</SPOILERS> The Brotherband system replaces the Navi Customizer, and three of the in-game brothers are aquired before the final boss. Plus, once you beat the game you can add an additional three brothers to your brotherband. To make this even Better, not only does each version have it's own Brother band bonuses(Pegasus increases the Cust Gauge speed, Leo boosts your attack power, and Dragon gives you another Mega Card per folder) but you also get that versions Star Force. So, someone with Dragon could get someone with Leo on their Brother Band, each one can use the other's Star Force. The Brother Band also gives your Bros' 'Favorite Chips' which is a required selection of 6 battle cards that can be any class(Standard, Mega, or Giga) in the form a roullete that randomly pics one for you to use UNLESS both you AND your brother are on air(on WiFi) which instead makes your brother appear and use their Best Combo on your enemies when you use their Brother Force card. Overall: 37/40 The game's very solid, and it's very addicting(How else would i beat the final boss in only two days?). Aside from ZX and BN6, this is the Best Megaman game i've playing in a LONG time. |

Star Force is pretty good. I did have my doubts about it at first. I ain't 'fraid to try new things as is. From what I played so far, the game is pretty good. I like the battle view also. Plus.. Cancer Bubble, Buku! |
I once killed an alien, his pelt made a nice jacket for a street hobo.

Pure and total coincidence on that part really. It isn't so much that they were going off the Robot Master as going off the constilations. Then again, he could have been created off of the same. |

The beginning was a bit slow, but by the end of the second scenario, things start to pick up. Omega reminds me of Ryuk from Death Note somehow, Geo is thankfully different from Lan, and I really want to punch Zack, who's like Fawful except sane and not awesome. Interesting characters so far, I must say. I'm enjoying this game, though it still has those parts in EXE that are really tedious to me, like having to traverse the maze-like internets while running into the same battles every 10 seconds. Now I just need some brothers. |
