Oh, so you're saying the series has a PREDICTABLE final boss. Well .... it does. But that's not really what we're arguing. Nor is it really revolutionary.

I would like to note that in your list, Gauntlet, that even though you mentioned that wall climbing and different armors were revolutionary to the MM series, you never mentioned dashing. I'd say it is far more revolutionary than the armors, at least, seeing as how it's spread into other series.

I lumped sliding and dashing together. The amount to the same thing.

What about the pre fight scenes developed first in the X series?

It eventually became that instead of "Oh Hi, I'm the Boss, let's fight" we had an exchange of words that let us know the kind of being we were dealing with. It made the bosses more two dimensional, and sometimes made you regret what you had to do. It was eventually adopted so far as the remakes of MM1 and MMX.

Well ....

They're still pretty two dimensional. Did that really revolutionise Megaamn games??

What can I possibly add to this... err... Bass double-jumping?

Zero was double-jumping first. X if you count the X3 upwards air-dash.

I personally thought Axle was revolutionary. Not the character himself, but his ability to fire in directions other than strait forward. It was a lovely change. Of course that was preceded by Metal Blade. THERE was the real revolution. 8-way shooting.

But it didn't really stick. Ditto the double jump .... it's a nice feature, but did it really revolutionize anything?

I'm fairly sure that Starforce is the first game that focuses on 3rd person shooting... oh wait, didn't the Legends games hit that pretty hard? Hrm, there goes that argument. ¬_¬
I am prepared to passionately argue my point until nothing makes sense! And if that doesn't work, then the hours of whining will!
