Regulus actually DRAWING? Blasphemy! Yeah, I don't draw much, seeing as Zymeth makes my best work look like 3rd-grade doodles, but I dare say I get a bit better every time I pick up the pencil. This time, I drew my mad Russian alter-ego, Blizzardman, and his armor upgrade, Himalayas Blizzardman. Blizzardman This is the Blizzardman who is running around Cossack's Citadel right now during BoW. The prop he's posing with was supposed to be a mini-gun, but I didn't have the patience to draw all the detail on the feeder belt. Let's jst say it's a plasma cannon. There, now it can look like ANYTHING. I had a lot of fun with this drawing. I tried drawing Blizzardman so many times in the past and his odd anatomy just wouldn't come out right (Despite what many people think, drawing a big circle for his torso just doesn't cut it. His body isn't a true circle). But I think I have the shape down now. Hey, I can draw the RMs that have sunken heads now! H. Blizzardman It took me the longest time to come up with a premise for this armor upgrade. I just couldn't think of a way to add to Blizzardman's armor without taking away from his round shape (It defines him, really. And I didn't plan on pulling a Napalmman.exe). So I figured I'd do my best to make him massive, because in his new form, he gets a substantial size increase in order to store the massive amounts of weapons that are integrated into his armor (I'll discuss his upgrade later). So I thought to myself, "How do I make Blizzardman larger than he is already?" And what mech in the history of gigantic robots can claim to be bulkier than the MS-09 Rick Dom? So I stole the armor plates off of Rick Dom and placed them on Blizzardman (The vest-like armor and the belt-looking plate). And of course, when you have the Rick Dom armor, it's almost illegal to draw yourself without posing with a bazooka of some kind, so I just had to put that in there. The leg parts are based loosely off the Gouf unit. In case you couldn't tell, he's resting his left hand on a snowboard. I also replaced his toboggan with one of those Russian military hats. Had a lot of fun with this one, too. I plan on CGing these guys up a bit, so I might post colored pictures of them later. Stats on H. Blizzardman Blizzardman gets an enormous boost in strength and size. While a good deal of the extra space goes towards power cells to boost his strength, there's still lots of room for weapons. Lots and lots of weapons. Here's Blizzard's new arsenal. I even managed to find a functional purpose for ALL SIX of Blizzardman's booblights (Although technically not a booblight, he's got two on each leg). 2 M61 Vulcan Gatlings (Retracts into his sides). Knee-cap rocket launcher. Grenades (The boob lights serve a functional purpose of dispensing them now). 2 Taurus trackers Here's the image. One AK47 (What Russian wouldn't carry one of these?) One Pancor Jackhammer (Believe it or not, this is a shotgun) A high-powered plasma cannon. This is embedded into his chest, allowing him to pin foes with his immense strength and blast a hole through their chest with a concentrated beam shot at point-blank range. Blizzardman also has two powerful shoulder-mounted beam cannons (Think of Starscream's twin null laser cannons from Armada). Another upgrade is that Blizzardman gets a weapons storage unit he calls "Boris" (Think Destroyer Dom's weapons storage unit, "Gallup" from SD Gundam). Boris stores most of Blizzardman's most powerful weapons, including a howitzer that Blizzardman can operate by himself. Boris also functions as an anti-aircraft gun, and carries about as much firepower as Blizzardman. Boris has the ability to warp the space inside its storage unit, allowing for an unbelievable amount of carrying capacity. I'm going to try to draw Boris sometime soon and get it posted up here, but what do you think of the undernet's resident Russian? |
![]() I nominate Doomguy for next year's Nobel Peace Prize. He's a berserker-packin' man-and-a-half who gets shit done. | |

I have a....shadow in my title?

Wow! Nice-lookin' snowman ya got there! Almost looks like he could out-snowman me [j/k]. The original one is nicely done; it's simple, but not too simple. I like the way you added his skiis on the back - Blizzard Man without his skiis is scarcely Blizzard Man at all. The second form....ooh. He's a big boy. The design is cool: it's a good way to make him bigger while still retaining his general egg-shapedness. Plus the "hat" is a neat addition. Also, nice use of the weapons, they really suit him. I know what you mean about feeling your drawings aren't up to scratch; I like drawing myself, but I'm nowhere near as good as the likes of Zymeth. Don't get discouraged, though (even if Zy is a kick-ass illustrator ;P). You're really good too. |
