So I've been trying to hone my drawing a bit more over time, so I thought I'd show what I've come up with. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v23/Pres.../newpharaoh.png New Pharaohman Design: You've probably already seen Zymeth's sprite rendition of this, but here was the sketch I made of it. Nicely combines the badass Ruby Spears design with aspects of Ariga's manga. Some ideas also came from Sean, especially the eyes in the hands, which channel power for the Pharaoh Shot. The other eyes also fire. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v23/Pres.../nightshade.jpg Nightshademon: I designed this a while ago, putting it to paper after a request from Dark Knight. Sort of a dark version of Lilymon, as SkullGreymon is to MetalGreymon. Scissor Army Comrades: This was kind of a neat idea I toyed with, relating to BoW. Sort of a 'what if' scenario if the Comrades joined the SA. I see a lot of those guys that sound like their designs have been changed somewhat. So I thought I'd come up with more sinister versions of the CC. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v23/Pres...b/SApharaoh.png SA Pharaohman: Pharaoh finally loses the cape, and is a much darker, more withered color, giving more of an image of someone who's thousands of years old. I'm really keen on the Anubis-head shoulder guards, and the more threatening snake head. His powers are a little less fire-based and more darkness-based, able to cover his enemies with black flames. He can also call upon swarms of flesh-eating locusts, and turn water into blood just for shits and giggles. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v23/Pres...Bob/SAdrill.png SA Drillman: Drill looks a lot more sadistic with that lantern jaw I added (capable of biting through rock) as well as a few extra drills on the shoulders and feet, somewhat like his EXE incanation. The drill arms are larger, and combined with the more rust-colored body as opposed to bright red, also takes on some of his Ruby Spears appearence. The big drills probably aren't suited for firing Drill Bombs, but he doesn't need them much, as those things are large and strong enough to boar through anything he wants, be it a mountain or people. And he can move underground at high speed, so running still isn't worth the effort. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v23/Pres...tBob/SAtoad.png SA Toadgal: Trying to go for a cute-in-a-slightly-disturbing-way look, I combined her standard Toadgal armor with her Zapper Gamma look. Replacing the gatling gun on Gamma's arm is a big-ass bio cannon, capable of dousing her enemies in highly toxic, highly corrosive chemicals. It's also been shown to cause cancer in lab rats, but you won't live long enough to worry. This girl is guaranteed to melt your heart! http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v23/Pres...tBob/SAdust.png SA Dustman: Or as I like to call him, The Garbage Truck from Hell. Well, he's as big as a garbage truck anyway, making him easily the largest of the SA comrades. I borrowed only slightly from his EXE incarnation, in making him primarilly one huge gaping maw. He spends a lot of his time gorging on trash, and just about anything else he can get his hands on. It's burned in his enormous furnace, providing energy to power his massive body, and also spews flames from the several nozzles on his shoulders. The large nozzle on his hand sprays molten metal that he's melted down. His size gives him incredible strength as well, and he's not confined to dumpster-diving for his nourishment; humans make great fuel as well. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v23/Pres...Bob/SAskull.png SA Skullman: Yeah, I took a huge departure for this guy. I wanted to make him outright ghoulish, so I decided to stray away from the almost cliched Grim Reaper motif and went for a bone golem/Legion design; a ghastly combination of technology and necromancy that looks more like it belongs in a Castlevania game than a Megaman game. The "bones" are actually made of a ceramic material that's much harder than bone, and they all have a controller chip, allowing Skull's main CPU to control each one individially (as well as the swords on the crucifix behind him, and while I'm not sure how easy it is to tell, those curvy pointed things around him are elephant tusks). The swords can be used for attack, as well as just about any part of his body, all powered by massive amounts of dark energy. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v23/Pres...ob/SAbright.png SA Brightbabe: What I tried for here was a kinda "angel of death" look. Hence the angelic look, the staff, and the Templar-style robes. Reason I wasn't so sure about this one was just that she's probably not as creepy-looking as some of the others (except for the eyes). But she'd still be potentially the most powerful. The light her bulb emmits is over 1 billion watts and can instantly destroy a human's retinas, and I doubt a robot's will stand up to it for long either. She also wields lightning from her hands and her staff to bestow her final judgement on her enemy. Is your soul prepared? I'm currently working on Skullman and have ideas for Dive, Dust, and Bright. Ringman's my biggest roadblock; how do you make hula-hoops more threatening? |

Hey, nice work! The colours are very vivid, and the lines are well-defined. Your style is good....sort of reminds me of my own, actually. XD The SA Comrades are also interesting, especially Pharaoh. All in all, good work. I look forward to seing more. As for the idea of a fearsome Ring Man....bladed rings? Chain-hoop-whips? |

I like all the designs you've got so far. The only thing I really have to say about Pharaoh is that I really like the upside-down ankh on his belt(I think I've just been wanting an excuse to say obscure words). With Drill, I'm loving the jaw you gave him, I guess you could say it makes him just that much more cool. And the smile on Toad's face despite the fact that she's holding a dangerously lethal biological weapon on her arm just makes it a great picture in my opinion. Hope I'll see more from you soon! |

Ah, I'm glad you picked up on that. It's supposed to be a symbol of life, so an inverted ankh on evil Pharaoh I thought was a nice touch. I'm glad reaction's been positive so far. Enigma, you mentioned the vibrant colors. That's because I scan my drawings as black & white images, then I color them in MS Paint. Crude, yes. But it seems to be the most effective way of adding color for me. |

Light them on fire. That always makes a hoop more intimidating. Edit: Concerning Zapper: Blizzardman would admittedly be very disturbed by coming home to that. |

So if I understand Gauntlet's post, I'm not being creative enough with these guys, huh? Alrightie, I hope this doesn't dissappoint, then. You want something more extreme? Say hi to Dustman, kids: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v23/Pres...tBob/SAdust.png SA Dustman: Or as I like to call him, The Garbage Truck from Hell. Well, he's as big as a garbage truck anyway, making him easily the largest of the SA comrades. I borrowed only slightly from his EXE incarnation, in making him primarilly one huge gaping maw. The large nozzle on his hand sprays molten metal that he's melted down. His size gives him incredible strength as well, and he's not confined to dumpster-diving for his nourishment; humans make great fuel as well. I decided to rework Skullman; I'm not sure I completely like what I did with him. I'm also partway finished with Brightbabe. |

Hahaha. Better than I can do. XD Now, on the subject of SA Dust Man....eco-nightmare! Interesting design, the trash-compactor maw is a nice touch, as are the pipes spewing what I assume is chemical smog. I can't wait to see how you do the others. |

My biggest problem, I think, is shading. Right now, my colored images look pretty simple, like a color-by-number picture. Anyone have any suggestions they're willing to share to help them look more impressive? |

Okay, here's Brightbabe. I think changing the eyes was the one thing that did the trick with drawing SA Bright. And the lightning sounds like it would be a nice upgrade too (maybe a suggestion for second-generation Bright's arm cannon to fire electricity.) |
