That was a pretty cool new ep Gaunt. And btw, did you miss Cutman on purpose when listing the first rebellion? |

It's already be ten years? Good god that's a very, very long amount of time. I've only been lurking on this sight for the past 6 years or so. Here's to hoping that your site continues prospering for many, many years to come. On a side note, check out what I found a little while ago... http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/MechanicalManiacs What do you think of this? |

Seeing as today is the *official* day of the Mechanical Maniacs' tenth anniversary, I'd just like to say a few words to, as well as on behalf of, my teammates. First off, and by far the most important, is that this really is a momentous occasion, and there is no one more deserving of enjoying it than Gauntlet. It doesn't even need to be said that all the credit goes to him; his hard work can be seen on every page, in every word of the site. Keeping updates regularly, hell, keeping a site up at all for ten years is incredible, and his determination has gotten this site through the great times and the not-so great times. Here's hoping there's a lot more great times to come. Second, I'd like to say how proud I am to be a part of this team. That's not an ego thing, because really I didn't do anything to get the position (or to keep it!) but it's simply a statement that working with, and even just keeping company with these awesome people is a great feeling. As one of the senior members on the team (in principle if not in deed) I've seen a lot of incarnations of the roster as people came and went, and it'd be a lie to say that I've befriended, or even spoken to, each and every Mech we've ever had. But the roster has been locked in for a steady 4+ years now, and we have managed a gathering of the team not one, not two, but THREE years in a row and I've met 6 of my 7 teammates in person, and you can't deny we must have had something beyond a common like for a video game. We've bonded. These aren't just teammates to me, these are great friends. And it's all thanks to this site that I've managed to meet such great people. And finally, thanks to all of you who ever clicked a link, or read an epilogue, or made a post here. Maybe we're a niche site that's never gonna reach widespread popularity or fame, and what we do we do for ourselves more than anyone else, but it's always nice to know that we're not just writing "dear diary" to ourselves with the site, and if I even get a chuckle out of someone when I write an epilogue once every two years, it was time well spent. This team has survived for ten years, and I think it's become the better from it. I can't wait to see what it's going to look like in another ten =) |

Geez, thanks Top! I'm really touched. Thanks for the kind words. The Mechs have definately changed over time ... no doubt about it. I think we have a pretty solid roster now too. No "hi then bye" Mechs this time. I think we're a solid group and it's a big thanks to actually meeting up in RL. Best idea we ever had. And I think that was Rich's idea. That's a convo we should saved, in retrospect. |

Who says we didn't save it? Maybe you didn't, but I did. I have a bunch of those AIM convos sitting on my hard drive. I believe I'm looking at the first Gathering discussion right now, though it makes reference to an earlier convo between just me and Rich where the idea came up originally.Dated 2007-06-06. Here's a snippet.

Alright, sent. As for whose idea the meet-up was, reviewing that chat reveals something interesting. It was Top mentioning a dream he recently had where the team met up in real life that got the conversation moving in that direction, and I recall I had been thinking increasingly about a gathering at the time too. There must have just been something in air in 2007 that got at least Rich, Top, and I all thinking the same thing. Actually I'm willing to bet we were all thinking that at some time or another and it just took until then for someone to finally say "let's do it". Rich was definitely the trigger there, and all due to his plans for moving to Arizona that didn't even end up happening. Go figure. |

I definitely remember the dream I'd had had been a catalyst for the eventual plans we made to meet up for the first time, though I'd no longer remembered if that was the first thing that was mentioned on the subject. I still remember that dream too, it was awesome. Haha, good times. Too bad they'll never ACTUALLY make a MM3 movie. |

B, of course, although more generally, it's more a representation of areas and people like that in general. Hell, we even had a "random" board here for a while and it was the same result. For some reason people feel the need to make complete asses of themselves whenever it's made clear they're allowed to =P |

I've definitely been enjoying the art, I'm especially glad to see the "5 cool guys" pic up at long last. Although I'm surprised at how small some of them look outside of the video, I figured they would be larger images. |

Actually, I'm just linking to the resized "normal" pictures. The true files, accessible in the gallery, are so huge that linking to them from the mainpage is impractical. I gotta think of the low bandwidth people in these updates. I've actually been thinking of resizing the large true images in my gallery to be smaller. I dunno how great of an idea that is, tho. |

Oh that Xelloss... he's there when you never want him to be. ![]() Nice epilogue, SD. Not too long, and leaves just a bit of a punch. But please, Kenta would not listen to Simple Plan at all. Everyone knows he's secretly into J-Pop- *Is found strangled five hours later- regrets nothing. X)* |

So, the last part of our amazing origin story has been posted! Which represents the end to an idea I had right afetr War ended 3 years ago. See, this is why you never see any of my unfinished eps in the secret page. I never give up on them. Incidentally, only the intro of this and the beginning bit with Topman was written before I took an extended break on it. The silly parts where I take the manual's dialogue and Cap N's stuff was inserted later. Hopefully this was enjoyable. Even if it got rather long (MM3 is the longest game in the series you know). |

I think my brain collapsed like a star with that bit near the end there. ![]() But hey, it seems just like Shadowman to end up telling a long, drawn out story to fill certain plot-holes and such when asked to answer just a simple question. So, for a four-parter, I think it isn't half bad. A little long and wordy when compared to the others in this series, but I can overlook that. Now here's the most frightening thought... after all of this, how do you plan on TOPPING IT? *shudders at the anticipation* |

This was written before the Hammarz ep, hence the numbering. It also might explain the preoccupation with War that "Bladez's" eps had ... I was writing this as I was doing that. I dunno how successfull the prose / epilogue hybrid style is. It involved A LOT of tense correction. |

Not quite. Quint saved Gemini and Shadow from being blown up with the General in the flashback of Life After Life. At the end of this story Geminiman is blown up with Cutman ... except that, naturally, there's more than one of his so it doesn't matter. |
