This completely ruined my day.

Now I'm going to have to watch Police Squad to cheer myself up when I get home from work.

I am a major, major fan of his, believe it or not.

EDIT: Also, somewhat-famous sci-fi director Irvin Kershner died at age 87.

He directed The Empire Strikes Back and RoboCop 2 (one of my favorite movies).

What a shitty day.

I mostly knew him from Airplane!. Comedy gold, that.

And from your link, he was quite the incredible man (being a disc jockey while being legally deaf, that counts for something).
Now a full-time Communist.

Combatron Chronicles - Transformers RP awaits you !

WARNING!
Crap in a hat. We lost another legendary comedian. Though the stuff about his serious work and early life was a surprise to me.

*sighs*

Rest in peace, you silly man.

Wow, I didn't see this coming. I always figured he was in good health for a guy his age. Surely, this guy will be missed. Yes he will, but don’t call me Shirley.

Now excuse me while I fire up Naked Gun.

Apparently a Geometric Array...
I found out about this while I was on my other forum and I all I can say is wow; the man was amazing in 'Airplane', and I think I owe it to him to pick up some of his other movies.

He will be missed.

His Naked Gun Films and Spyhard are my favourite films. Now I will watch all his movies that I own in his honour.
I once killed an alien, his pelt made a nice jacket for a street hobo.
