Aine had been feeling out of sorts for days. Despite her tendency towards snark and sarcasm, Aine was usually a fairly pleasant person. Of late though she'd been snappish and short tempered, almost downright rude at points. Alianth wasn't much better, quite literally snapping at people who pushed his frayed temper. His flit, Ginger, had been the only one who seemed to be able to stand him long periods of time, and even she was currently avoiding him, the independent green exercising that independence and staying a long, long way away from her blue dragon owner. In fact the only person who could stand being around either of them right now was the other, since neither was at all restrained about taking out their temper on their other half.
"Why don't you just rise already?!" the woman bellowed at the blue. She'd worked out a while back what it was that was making them both so edgy. Alianth was more than just starting to glow now. He was clearly proddy, and by the gods wasn't that a weird thing to be thinking. Maybe I will Came Alianth's snorted reply. With that the blue got to his feet and stalked to the entrance to their weyr. He took off circling down to the feeding pens as Aine stared at where he had been in amusement. Was it really that easy? She could feel the change, the constant edginess and irritation morphing to a burning desire.
Something which they'd been told during training came to her and Aine dashed to her ledge. Blood it! She shouted at her dragon, who had just taken down a beast. Alinath's head swung, the dragon fighting her. He wanted to eat. he wanted to feel that heat as it flowed down his throat and into his stomach. Blood it! You eat, you don't fly! Aine struggled with the dragon. With a snarl Aliant gave in, teeth biting deep into the beast's neck as he blooded his kill.
When he was done the dragon lifted his blue head to the skies. the blood dripped from his maw as he let out a bellowing call Maori Weyr! Who will dare to chase me?! Who will come and prove themselves to Alianth?! In her weyr Aine shivered and waited to see what would happen next, and who would be appearing in her weyr as their males chased her other half.

Ahote was worried, very worried. Erementh had been stalking Alianth these past few days like the other Blue was a cow or something. Today, however, he was sleeping, and Ahote figured Alianth had simply done something to annoy Erementh. However, when Erementh's head suddenly rose from his slumber, as if he had never been asleep at all, and his eyes whirling a burning red, Ahote's gut churned. He knew immediately who was rising. "Don't you dare go after that thing Erementh! Erementh turned and hissed, baring his teeth in anger at his rider. And don't you dare call that beautiful shining creature a thing Ah'te! I will chase! Just as I will chase any and every female that dares to rise! I will be the best as many times as I possibly can be! For no other Blue is better than me Rider of mine! Just you wait and see! The two stared at each other, glaring daggers. The swirling red of Erementh's eyes was only intensified by his anger towards Ahote for insulting the beautiful Dragon, and his own body ached painfully with the need to chase him. I am going. With that the Blue slithered off his Weyr-couch and lunged for the Weyrledge. He settled on the edge, half his chest resting on the ledge and the other half over thin air. "Don't!" YES! Then the crippled Dragon shoved himself off his ledge in a lurching movement. It was by no means graceful, but the moment his wings caught air he shot skywards, suddenly transformed from a clumsy cripple and a nuisance to an agile hummingbird and king of the skies!
ALIANTH! Erementh's voice boomed across the skies of the other Blue's mind, along with an image of himself, glorified by Erementh's mind. Do you see how wondrous you are Alianth! I do not care what the others think, or what my rider thinks! I will prove that I am the best to chase you! To fly you! For surely no other Dragon in flight is as glorious as you! Erementh's body trembled from head to tail-tip as he circled Alianth like a hawk waiting for his prey to reveal itself. He would land, he would preen, but he was afraid that his landing would be a disaster, and that he would not be able to become air-born again. He flipped midair, performing a somersault and then returning to gliding around in an easy circle. Best not waste his energy before the flight had even truly begun.
Ahote cursed when Erementh shoved himself off the ledge. The Blue had blocked out Ahote, and no matter how many times the man tried to get through to him the Blue's flightlust was too strong. There was no stopping the Dragon now, if there had even been a chance to stop him before there definitely wasn't now. Ahote didn't know if he should go to the girl that owned the rising Blue or not. His... well... his "man" side begged him to go, to be the first there, but his rational side said she may not appreciate it. Especially since he had called her Dragon a thing! But then... she wouldn't know that... Agh but he would and would feel guilty if he saw her! Damn it, shells and shards what he wouldn't give for a door that locked on the outside.

((Only because I can't stand to see a good flight go to waste))
Q'ntin sat stretched out in the sun, his face shaded by the overhanging branches of a young tree. He was trying to enjoy himself and trying to remain in a good mood. Trying because Cheleighgamenth made it difficult. The bronze had been in an especially foul mood lately, and for no apparent reason. If Q'ntin had to stake a guess, he'd say it was probably because they were answering to a brown pair, something his dragon rebelled at wholeheartedly. Personally, he didn't mind. When it came to Weyrleadership, better them than him.
"Give it a rest, Chel," he called as the bronze grumbled loudly.
I will NOT! Tamith is a brown! A BROWN!
"So?"
So? I am a bronze, Q'ntin'Mine! He should be following MY commands, not I his!
Q'ntin sighed. "It's no big deal. That's just how Mertaith chose." He smiled wickedly "Tamith's bigger than you anyway."
It was the wrong thing to say. Q'ntin knew it. Cheleighgamenth hated being teased about his size. The bronze sprang to his feet, ready to chastise his rider, but stopped suddenly, turning his head skyward. The anger slowly leaked out of his eyes, giving way to lust. Cheleighgamenth hears your call, Alianth. I shall be beside you soon.
Q'ntin choked on a sharp intake of air as he heard his dragon's words. Alianth? "Chel, he's a blue!" His protests were lost as the bronze took to the air, leaving his rider scrambling in a cloud of dust trying to stop him. "Get back here...YOU IDIOTIC LIZARD!"
Cheleighgamenth flew on, laughing into Q'ntin's mind, intent only on the rising blue. Q'ntin huffed after him. He was the angry one now. Lusting after a bluerider? His dragon would be the death of him. It hardly helped knowing that at least this particular bluerider was a woman.

Orvoth huffed and got off of the floor and walked near the edge where his rider sat. Ayana was looking out at the sky as she thought.
"About time?" She asked.
I Would never have forced him to rise. I can wait as long as it is needed. He nudged her shoulder before he opened his wings and humped from his weyr. Ayana watched her blue as he flew off then with a sigh she stood and wiped the dirt from her behind. She ran a hand through her hair that was left flowing down her shoulders and she started to walk to Aine. Ayana had prepared for this, knowing that Alianth would rise soon.
Good luck.
Alianth is rising L'don, I will chase. Khaelth said as he stood out and watched the pale blue. The blue looked back at his rider with purple green eyes. You don't mind do you?
"No I don't! Don't be silly Khael!" L'don moved forward and slapped the sky blue shoulder that was his dragon. "In fact I would love it if something happened! We have been needing to do something and this is perfect!"
Khaelth snorted and nudged his rider before taking off into the sky after the slightly larger and pale blue.
I shall chase Alianth! Oh how you glow like the sun, the moon and the stars of the sky! You shine like you yourself are the gem that is the sky! Khealth called as he circled.
((Sorry it is short.))
