Nic’ai stretched lazily, not bothering to adjust his shirt as the lower hem rose up with the movement, revealing the sculpted lines of his lower torso, and leaned deeper into the grass. The dewy green sparkled in the argent light of the full moons and the moisture clung to him, laying silver beads in his dark hair and against his skin. It was strange, but he felt at peace in this serene beauty, sharing his company with the silent stars.

Isn’t it lovely tonight, Aoi? I wish we could add the moons to your collection.

No, Aoith growled, slinking into the lake and submerging to her jaw. I don’t like them. They are ugly.

Nic’ai frowned, turning his head to gaze at his dragon’s swimming form. She had been acting out of sorts for a few days now and it was making him nervous. Normally she fawned over the moons even when they were mere slivers and she always panicked when they were dark. Are you alright, Aoith?

Of course I am! the green snapped, her tone hard and irritated. Why wouldn’t I be? The glow from her eyes changed hues as her mood shifted and she returned to the shallows, lying down in the water. It seemed particularly bright around her, but Nic’ai attributed to the moonlight and the ripples of her movements. She raised her head to look at the sky and was suddenly on her feet again, flaring her wings. I am more than alright. I am ready for Flight!

The green leapt into the sky in a spray of water, rising high with a roar that shook to the edges of the Weyr. She hovered against the light of the largest moon, saving her energy for her suitors, certain that she would not be caught easily. Emerald droplets rained down and in her own glow and the reflected light of the moons on her damp hide she held all the shine of a gold. Come to me, my males!

The sudden transition from anger to lust that Aoith sent to Nic’ai hit him hard, convulsing his body for a moment before he could regain even a small amount of control, gazing up at his gleaming dragon. He felt hot and confined and so very alone. A worry that surprised him gnawed at the back of his mind. Would they find him? He didn’t want to endure this delicious agony in solitude. He wanted warmth, to be embraced, for someone to make him theirs. “Come to me!” he roared in echo to Aoith’s summons, breaking the silence of the very, very beautiful night.

Fire.

Erementh's head lifted from his sleep, and as he gazed out into the moon only one thought pulsed through his mind. Aoith. With a stiff groan Erementh leaned to one side and brought his right leg up along his chest, and then he placed his wings on the ground, one in front of him and the other to his side. With a grunt he heaved himself into a standing position, or at least as standing as you can consider a Dragon on their hind-legs and wings. He had gotten better at walking this way, and thus he knuckle-walked over to the edge of his Weyrledge. He gazed down, red streaking violently through his eyes. Ahote was asleep, but he wouldn't be for long. Without hesitation Erementh let loose a bugle to rival the night sounds of the Pern Jungle and Mountains. The bugle shook him to his very core, and it startled Ahote so bad that the man nearly leaped three feet out of bed. "EREMENTH! What in blazes..." He paused and turned his gaze towards the Weyrledge, furrowing his brow in confusion. Erementh was peering over the edge intently, as if he was about to pounce on unsuspecting prey.

Aoith is flying. He stated simply as if the whole world knew, and without further thought he bounded off the Weyrledge, using his hind-legs to push off the rock and give him the boost he needed to fly! He was silent in his approach, very likely blending into the night, all but invisible as he approached Aoith. He was like a flying shadow, a dart, and if it weren't for his sense of honor he would have slipped all the way up to Aoith and snagged her then and there before any other males even had a chance to show up! Instead though he winged to a halt before her, his brighter belly and face glimmering like silver in the moonlight. Aoith. So beautiful, more so than the moons and the stars above, more than any Dragon here.

He backwinged then and looped around her, twisting and twirling in a vomit inducing spiral before settling for hovering in front of her, his eyes whirling a deep maroon red. Yes. She was beautiful, and he wanted her. He was not a patient Dragon, and he voiced his concerns. Aoith will you be mine? Be mine before any others arrive. You like the jeweled moons and me like the darkest skies. I can be your blanket when you set, and I can be your frame when you shine! But if he had to he would wait, but he strained his neck out towards her, reaching, begging, wanting.

Ahote, meanwhile, twisted out of bed, nearly falling on the floor in the process. This was the first time Erementh had ever chased a female, and to be honest Ahote did not like the prospect of bedding another man. Frankly he didn't like the prospect of bedding anyone right now, and he was perfectly happy to sit in his room and groan... for now...

Aoith waited in the light of the moons, using the least amount of energy she could to remain aloft. Her wing beats were slow and she fell several feet with each one before pushing herself back up. It was almost like she was bobbing in the waves of a vast, endless ocean. She appeared at ease, but that was far from the case, as her eyes, ears, and mind were alert and tense. She saw the sliver of night that rushed towards her and she loosed a hiss at Erementh, warning the blue not to try and grab at her with her say so. Luckily, he didn’t seem to be so stupid. But he still seemed to be stupid enough, asking him to choose him, when her others had not yet arrived. You insult me, Erementh, she snarled, winging a few paces away from him. Are you saying I have the same sense as the moons, who sit so cold in the sky, content to rest in it’s darkness. The blue really shouldn’t have compared her to the moons when she held no fondness for them. Any other time, she would have been flattered and basked in his company, but now she was only irritated by him. I will choose who I deem worthy, not the first dragon that comes begging my touch. She spiraled around him in a cruel tease. If you want it so much, then here, accept it with my affections. With that, she snapped her tail in the air before his face, and climbed high to her vantage point, laughing coldly. She would ignore him for now, keeping an eye open to make sure he didn’t try to take her by force, but she was not quite ready to dismiss him entirely. He was, after all, a handsome blue.

Nic’ai felt the ire that surged through Aoith as Erementh approached her, as well as the tinge of longing that accompanied the knowledge that he had come for her. But it was not reciprocated in his own body. The blue’s rider was not here, had no intention of coming. He knew this from Aoith. And his blood boiled, hot with rage and passion. Was he to be ignored, simply because his dragon was female and he was not. Did others think he was unfortunate to have been chosen to become so mismatched? Was he pitied? Was he feared? Was he hated? Fire sparked in his eyes as he screamed up at the moons, at the dragons silhouetted against them. “If you seek Aoith, you seek me!” he bellowed, both to Erementh and through him to Ahote. “We are as much one as you are!” No, he would not be so easily ignored.

Ayana, Aoith is rising, she is out by the lake with her rider. Nic'ai. A male for you. Orvoth looked over to the bed where his rider had just finished changing into her shorts and tank top pj's and crawled under her bed fur. She groaned and hid her head under than blanket to pointlessly try to keep away the emotions that her blue was feeding her from the mental bond that they shared. Orvoth crooned at her and nudged her gently with his nose. An almost feline purr escaping his throat as he rubbed on her till she came out of the covers.

"Alright. It is a male after all." She moaned softly and trembled at the phantom touches as they ran up her arms. It had been so long, she had been alone for so long. Shells how she just wanted to be held, and for once it was a male rider. Hopefully he liked girls so that for once both could be pleased. That would be good for both of them.

Her rider is alone, he needs someone there and from what I can tell he does like females. However another blue is already there. He rumbled.

"Why didn't you say something earlier?" Ayana stroked the sky blue head then quickly clambered onto her dragon as he lowered himself to the ground so that she could get up onto his shoulders easier. His straps had been taken off for some oiling but he had so neck ridges just above where his saddle would be that Ayana could sit between them and not fall off. He walked slowly to the edge and looked down and wriggled his rear end for a second while Ayana pressed her legs into his sides so that she could hold on. She also clung to the neck ridge in front of her. Then Orvoth jumped and snapped out his wings. His lighter blue belly giving away which dragon it was as he flew as fast as he could to the lack without using too much force and energy.

He did not plan on landing. When Ayana could see the light green hide she swung her leg up and over the neck ridge while Orvoth dived down to the ground and pulled up in just enough time that his claw just grazed the ground. That was when Ayana jumped then rolled to land near Nic'ai. She took a second to shake her red hair out of her face then grab a strand while she stood and started to twirl it till it got a nice bouncy curl right near her eyes.

"Looking for someone?" She purred and was definatly not her usual flight mode self, normally she was more reluctant but as one of the oldest clutched riders she was getting used to them. This time was different though. Most of the females who had risen had female riders, this one was male. He would hopefully be all hers once they were done.

Orvoth crooned when Ayana jumped then he pushed off of the ground and back into the sky to circle Aoith before settling into a hover to admire her hide.

Please forgive my tardiness, I say your glourious self back at the Weyr and was mesmerized by your beauty. So much better than the stars and the moon. Your beauty is so great that there is nothing in this world that could even begin to describe you. Not even if it was all combined it would still not even come close to comparing to you! He crooned and bugled into the sky, just for her.

To say that he was shocked at Aoith's reaction was an understatement, and it wasn't until another blue arrived that he snapped back to reality. He was hovering in place still, and though the snap from Aoith's tail stung it felt like heaven against his burning skin. Aoith, you can bite me, claw me, kill me, and still I will follow. You deserve so much more than the be cold in the sky, and I would keep you warm. With my heart, mind, and body. You would be warm forever more! He hissed lowly at Orvoth, but that was all the attention he paid to the other blue. Orvoth was not the apple of his eye, but Aoith was, his jewel, his one desire this night. But he could feel her apprehension and frustration that his rider was not there, or was it transmitted from her rider?

Either way he had to soothe her, them, and he spoke softly to Aoith. Fret not beautiful gem! My rider will be there, he may not be there now, but he will come. If I have to find him and drag him here myself, he will come, as I have come for you Aoith. Her name was said like she was a goddess, like there was nothing else he desired. And it was true, even his wish for greater forelimbs was banished from his mind. Except for a fleeting thought. Orvoth was whole, and Orvoth had proven himself a father, his father, so he was in every way better than Erementh... NO! No! That did not matter! Erementh let out a bugle, calling out to Aoith.

Ahote flinched at his Blue's words, and he half growled and half hissed in frustration and anger. "No! I will NOT come! I refuse to come! I will stay here in my room! You sharding blue just had to chase her didn't you! You're a cripple! Save yourself the trouble of the insult of loosing!" Ahote bellowed, both mentally and verbally.

At his rider's words Erementh faltered some, his wing-beats uneven, and he keened softly. So that was why Ahote would not come. He was embarrassed, and scared to loose. I will not fail you. I promise. His words were private, soft, reassuring to his rider. They weren't much, but they were enough to stir a feeling of guilt in Ahote. He would be there... he supposed... but not yet... not yet...

Aoith crooned when Orvoth announced his presence, purring deeply at the surge of elation she received from Nic’ai. Good. The older blue had brought his rider. And she was female…that would make Nic’ai happy, not that either half of the green pair cared at the moment about the gender of the other rider. All of her suitors were male anyway. She snorted, streaking through the space between the rival blues, her eyes whirling in lustful delight. Own your lateness, Orvoth, or leave my sight. Perhaps you waited on purpose, hoping I would expend my energy and you could steal me easily, no? Think again. She was quick to make assumptions, but she liked the ideas of her fantasies. It fueled her need-driven rage and made things more entertaining. Grinning wide, she went to twist once around Erementh. Again you compare me to something cold and without life. It would seem Orvoth has the advantage in words, tonight. Luckily, words will not win me. Can the son outshine the father? She dove suddenly, plummeting towards the lake, flaring her wings and skimming her claws through the water as she took off through the diamond studded night. Come, give chase! she challenged, when there was a good distance between her and them. Who thinks to prove themselves worthy of me?! The green was dangerously close to sounding deranged as she cackled off into the night.

Joy flooded through Nic’ai’s blood as he caught sight of Ayana, having missed her dive off her blue. He had been too busy raging about being scorned. Wanting propelled him towards her, guided his searching fingers into that seductive curl that framed her eyes. He leaned down - it wasn’t far - to kiss her, pausing with his lips mere inches from hers, Aoith’s sudden scorn biting at him. “Not yet,” he murmured, backing away. The small part of him that was still him and not Aoith was reluctant. Why could he not have her, regardless of who the green chose? She was here…only she was here…and the moonlight was so beautiful, glinting off her insanely red hair. Red like the passion coursing through him. “Maybe it isn’t you,” he added in answer to her question. He reached out to caress her again and then turned his eyes skyward. “And maybe it is.”

Erementh was confused by the harshness of Aoith's words. Cold? Without life? After a moment's thought he determined that he was indeed comparing her something so cold and lifeless. Stupid stupid Dragon. Yes, the moon was pretty, but it was but a shadow, a shadow of the sun! If the Moon is so cold and lifeless then what of the sun! He tilted downwards and shot after Aoith with a powerful downsweep of his wings, his powerful chest muscles making quick work of the air. Like huge paddles through water he was, his body flowing with each thrust of his wings down and up, and his hearts were like a series of steady drums!

He bugled as his wings caught a current of wind that billowed off the edge of the lake, riding them higher and higher until he was above Aoith. He gazed down at her beautiful form, and then he dove, he dove and spiraled, as if he once again intended to snatch her from the air. At the last moment he peeled away though in a dizzying mix of somersaults and barrel rolls. Son outshine the father? Very well! The sun is gone, hiding, or perhaps you are simply so warm, so bright and brilliant that it cannot bear to even try to compete with your magnificence! And compare you to something? Never! You are better than anything anyone might try to compare you to, the sun must be compared to you, not you to it! The daredevil of a blue looped and then spiraled down towards her, snapping his wings open in the last instant to trail behind Aoith. Orvoth was a large blue, he would not have the same agility as Erementh, nor would he have the power that Erementh possessed in his massive chest. On the ground he was a cripple, but in the air he was an angel, an angel of flight, and an angel of fire. Erementh stretched full out, beating his wings slowly in attempt to allow Aoith to admire him should she choose to. A foolish wish, but the wish had no harm except for slowing him down a tad.

Ahote could feel the flightlust pulling at him, tugging at him, and before he knew what had happened he found himself in the hall. But then a notion dawned on him. It was a Green's flight, and no matter the winner he would not be able to reach Nic'ai in time. He was too far away. The thought both sat pleasantly and sourly in the Bluerider's stomach, and a sick grin twisted his face. He felt Erementh despair at this, and Ahote felt guilty. For you, I will walk. He couldn't leave his Blue hurting so, and so despite his already known outcome of what would happen, at least on the human-side of the flight, he began to jog towards the place Nic'ai was.

Lovely Aoith, I would never think of such a thing! That would be a dirty trick and the result would not be befitting the Queen of the Skies and Mistress of beauty. Now I shall prove myself and my words!

And that was when he dove, his wings tucked tightly against his sides until he started to level out. That was when he snapped out his wings and flapped them furiously for a brief moment to keep up his speed then let his wings rest against the air that flowed under them. His wings flapped occasionaly to keep him up in the air then he did a quick flip and spiraled himself to place himself just a bit behind and to the side of the wonderful green. He would try his best to win thid flight, not for himself but for his Ayana.

She may not have shown it but Ayana was trembling slightly. it seemed as if he was right there in front of her in a blink of an eye. His fingers twined about with the curl around her eyes and then he was not the only one filled with want. He came so close! His lips had almost touched hers in a kiss before he spoke and pulled back.

"Either way I am here for if or whenever you want me." Ayana spoke then placed her hands behind her back before she could attempt to move close to him again and touch him. To be caressed again. She started to walk around on the balls of her feet and she mimicked a dancer and twirled on the damp grass with grace and balance. She did not know what else to do that would keep herself from falling into his arms. She had just been so lonely, it seemed that the flight had popped up at the right time. Maybe her dancing would even entertain Nic'ai

Indeed, Aoith snorted in agreement, though whether she was addressing Orvoth or Erementh was uncertain. She had been in the air for some time now, and her body was beginning to tire. Her mind was in a worse state, having wasted much effort bantering with her chasers. Plus, she was distracted by Nic’ai’s emotions, fueled by the closeness of a woman. She knew that Erementh’s rider still hadn’t shown himself…might not show himself. Was that a sign to choose Orvoth? He was experienced; larger & stronger. He could carry her farther. But Erementh….he was so determined and strong-willed, not to mention handsome, his inky-blue hide gleaming in the moonlight. She roared and shook her head, trying to think through her lusting fog, her inexperience frustrating her. Both blues held equal appeal, teasing her with clever words and dizzying aerobatics. She hated them both. Screaming, she beat her wings furiously, climbing straight up into the sky, looping once around the moons before angling her body downwards and folding her wings. She fell like a stone, but with the grace of a falcon, aimed directly between the blues. Her eyes spun in a nauseating whirl of colors as she raced towards the ground, stretching her forelegs out and raking her claws through the air. Only the thought of her choice occupied her mind now.

Nic’ai watched Ayana’s graceful, distracted dance, laughter rolling through him and into the night air. It wasn’t the sound of scorn or amusement, but one of sheer delight. To shell with custom…he was here, she was here…both wanted the other and the other blue’s rider was remaining obstinately absent. Whether her dragon won or lost, he would probably have her. He might as well take her now, before all sense was lost to both of them. He started across the dewy grass, moving to capture the feral beauty, but stopped as pain spiked through him. His eyes turned skywards. Aoith was confused, faltering. And then she was fiercely determined, though he couldn’t determine the object of her fixation. “Now,” he murmured, scanning the area. As far as he could tell, it was still just he and she. His voice was husky, pained from the screaming presence of the green as she fell towards the earth. “Be with me now,” he begged.

((Ok, this is Orvoth and Erementh's last chance to impress Aoith. She knows who she wants, but I've yet to determine who. And this also Ahote's last chance to make an appearance.))
