The New Hope Clutch is hatching! And to everyone's surprise a White has spilled onto the sands after the combined help of the candidates freed it! To top it all off a huge pride of felines is attacking the Weyr during the Hatching! Will all the babies survive? What about the people and Dragons of the Weyr? So far one Bronze has been killed, and Hikari has nearly been murdered herself by the blood thirsty cats, only escaping by pure luck!
This, is Maori Weyr. The home of the last few left behind after the great Evacuation, and the few who will not forget their ties to the old world, Earth. Will you join our ranks? Or flee back North, where comfort and the security of many Weyrs lies.

Username: Parallel Character Number: 3rd

Name: Deyna Age: 18 Gender: Male
Appearance: Deyna doesn't stand out particularly in a crowd, he has no real distinguishing features. Standing at a little under six foot he walks with a jaunty ease that reveals his love of life instantly to anyone who comes in contact with him. His mud brown hair is cropped short much like most young men around his age, but always looks either wet or windswept due to his hobbies of swimming and jumping. His eyes are a very dark blue, almost black, yet they have a unique gleam in them, an unexpected warmth.
Grinning is his almost permanent state of being, he is rarely without a smile on his face. Eager to engage with everyone, his body language clearly represents that with his relaxed and playful demeanor.
Deyna is a slender young man with a very toned physique thanks to years of swimming. He doesn't think it's a big deal that he's as fit as he is, he just doesn't know any different. From much time spent outside and in the water he has tanned well.
The one abnormality that he does possess is hidden much of the time, so no one really knows about it. Both his feet have webbed toes. When he was younger this was a definite cause for embarrassment, especially when at the harbour with his friends, but now he has accepted it as just a part of who he is. Often if someone notices it he'll laugh jovially about it with them.
Personality: Deyna is a very good natured young man, always open to the more positive aspects of life. He sees the good in people and never judges anyone too soon. He can be considered a little naive at times because he is a very trusting person. His default assumption of people is that they are good and it is only when proven wrong that he will change his view.
He enjoys other peoples company a lot and will seek it out regularly. As he is on the edge of maturity he still enjoys the rough and tumble of mock fighting with other lads, wrestling and such are high on his list favourite things to do. He is an extremely good swimmer and would say that it is as natural to him as breathing. Because of where he was brought up, he has a passion for two of the elements in particular, wind and water. He adores their strength and is happiest when he's experiencing one or both of them. To feel the power of the wind he made running and jumping a hobby of his, loving the adrenaline pumping through him.
Deyna is ever curious. Though he likes other peoples company, he needs some time to himself now and again as most people do. He is a wanderer by nature and happily meanders around, collecting interesting objects from different places. He has a habit of collecting things others might deem useless. But he gets a thrill from studying and appreciating them, occasionally tinkering with a couple of things and making something completely new.
As a boy, his father taught his how to use a blade properly. It began with learning how to gut fish and since has become one of his most important skills. It is a way of defending himself if he ever needs to. Though Deyna would usually opt for avoiding a fight, whether through verbal means or literally dodging each blow committed by his opponent.
When he bonded with his green flit, his mind changed a little. His eyes were opened to a world he knew nothing about and he spends many hours with her, learning about her species and teaching her anything he thinks she would need to know. The idea of Impressing a dragon is a daunting one, and not one he expects to achieve, but secretly his heart longs for a union with such a beautiful and wild creature now that he's been offered this chance.
Biography: Born and raised on the Yokohama, Deyna was without the elements of strong wind and water. He was brought up by his father, Denar who was a skilled fisherman and brought along as one of the lead fishermen. His mother Yana died in childbirth due to severe complications, but it never affected him too badly. His knowledge of her came from beautiful memories told to him by his father.
As a child Deyna had many friends on the ship, mostly the sons and daughters of other fishermen. They formed tight bonds and learned about the ocean and the wind from the older men. Many of them would be taking fishing as a craft so there training began early.
When they finally reached Pern, Deyna was completely blown away by the vastness of the ocean. He soon developed an adoration for it and the gales that blew over it's magnificent mass. He began working with his father and learning the skills necessary to put food on the table. He learned how to fish and became very proficient at it over the years. He was a good trader too, always able to get a good bargain with the locals due to his ease around people. He was a well known face about the boats and the fishermen who all encouraged him to be the best he could be. His father was very proud. During the eruption at Landing, and the evacuation, Deyna, his father and several other fishermen ended up staying in the south with the hundred or so others that had stayed as well. But he lost many friends in the process.
Inside, Deyna yearned for more, and he felt guilty because of it. He kept up his facade of happiness at being a fisherman, but deep down the land beyond the ocean called to him;. He had a desire to travel. He wanted to see new lands and experience more than fishing in his lifetime. But he couldn't tell his father this, it would break his heart. So he stayed quiet and carried on with the life he lead.
That is until he Deyna was just after coming off the boat with his father when he spotted two dragons, a bue and a green. He gaped at them. They were very close and when they approached him and his father he felt fear ripple through him. But it was tinged with excitement. They wanted to take him as a candidate? By the looks of things they would have no problem using force to take him, but he really wanted to go with them anyway. His father could see the look in his son's eyes and knew the truth. Reaching into his bag he withdrew a very small flit egg and handed it to Deyna. "Go," he said, "Go with this and my blessing." To the riders he asked that they take take care of his son, hoping that they were honourable enough to do so.
Overjoyed, Deyna went with the riders and left for the Weyr, ready to see and experience new things. Upon his arrival, the egg his father had given him hatched, revealing a tiny green fire lizard. Naming her LemonPea, though generally just calling her Pea, he joined the ranks of the candidates and eagerly awaited the day of the eggs hatching. With the chaos and destruction at the hatching and Deyna's failure to Impress left him completely distraught. The only bright spark in his mind now belonged to the whers. He had seen something beautiful in them that most people would overlook. They were raw, they were wild. He desperately wanted to get close to one of them.

Umm...you'd have to verify with Ichi, but I'm pretty sure there's no way he could be from the North. Especially not if he was brought to Maori by the dragons. Plus, you also said that he and his father stayed in the South.
I like the picture though. Did you draw that?

Just a few little issues are preventing me from accepting him. Once they‘re fixed, he‘ll officially be playable.

Overjoyed, Deyna went with the riders and left for the Southern continent, ready to see and experience new things. - again, there is no way for him to have been on the Northern continent, so he can’t have left for the South. Wher candidates have to be from the South, and wher handlers (the ones that showed up at the hatching) have to be from the North. Change it to something like “and left for the Weyr”, and he’ll be good to go.
