MapleStory Private Server Development

This section is moderated under the RaGEZONE Forum Rules, as well as rules designated for the MapleStory Private Server Section. Failure to follow these rules will result in a warning, infraction, and/or ban depending on the severity of the issue at hand. These rules are effective as of Monday, October 18, 2010.

[Release] tags or prefixes are not needed, nor should be used, as this is the Release section.

Creating a thread
  • Always use proper tags when creating a thread. Examples:
    • [Source] = Source or Repack files (Yes, Repacks are still sources, get over it)
    • [Add-On] = NPCs, PQs, Fixes, XMLs, GM Handbooks, Packet Updates, Features
    • [Web] = Anything CMS and/or Website related
    • [Tool] = Programs of any kind, be it assisting in creating a server, or checking for files. This includes Localhosts and Client Redirects

  • Do not create Help, Discussion or Development threads here. Post them in the appropriate sections.
  • Post screenshots of releases made whenever possible.
  • PM a staff member if you would like to have your thread cleaned/closed.
  • All releases are to be working and tested. If it wasn't tested, don't release it.
  • All releases are not to contain exploits of any kind. If exploits are found, the thread will be closed/deleted.
  • All releases are to be virus/keylogger/malware/spyware free.
  • All releases must have an explanation on how to set it up, if the release is more complex than a routine fix.
  • Leaks are no longer allowed if they were gained through exploits, ex-staff members, or 3rd party exploitation.
  • Service threads are no longer allowed. Please feel free to post a guide on how to do what you were planning to do, so that other members have the opportunity to learn.

Posting in threads
  • Do not troll
  • Do not spam, insult or flame other members. There is a difference between proving a point and flaming someone.
  • Do not make a post with only images, smileys, and/or videos.
  • Do not quote someone and respond with "This", "Win", "Fail", or anything similar. Try to put some thought into your post.
  • Do not make a post only to say "Thanks". There is a Posted Image button for a reason.
  • Do not necrobump. This means bumping an old thread (1+ month since last post). The only exception to this is if you contribute to the discussion/release/tutorial. If you need help after reading a release/discussion/tutorial, post a thread in the help section, with a link to the thread you were viewing.
  • Do not mini-Mod. If you have an issue with a post/thread, use the Posted Image (Report) function. It is not your job to tell a Moderator how to do theirs.
  • If posting about a found exploit, you are to provice proof the exploit exists. Failure to provide proof will result in an infraction.

Be sure to check these rules often, as they will change without notice.

Effective 1/1/11:

Proper tags are to be used when creating a thread. If you are unsure what tag you should use, please contact a Moderator. In addition, you must state what version your release is for in your opening post. Failure to do so can and will result in a warning and/or possible infraction.
