I just found out that the Mario game I worked on in the early 1990s is now some sort of "Lost" Holy Grail of Mario Games. It was Mario Takes America -- a Phillips CD-I game that was cancelled after about a year and a half into production. Some interesting stories if any of you have ever heard about this game. |

Something about Mario in crossovers?
|
...Never heard of it. Is there any refutable proof aside from rumors? |

I didn't keep my paycheques for those 2 years but the game WAS real and WAS being developed. The machine simply could not handle what the Producer had promised Philips. We had some amazing animation cycles that had to be reduced to the bare minimum -- sometimes 2 sprites -- in order to get a decent response time and collision detection was questionable at best. |

Yeah, the CD-I wasn't the best system around. Just ask the AVGN. By the way, I think the name of your game rings a bell. |
