Won't be so active as before.

I think Mario series will stay, but I hope Nintendo will do something innovative with it and make its 2nd legacy. |

It'll probably die if they keep making New Super Mario Bro versions over and over and over and over and over and over again like they are currently. |

Yep, unless people start randomly hating Mario, and he stops selling, the series will keep going for a long time. |

Let me just say that my generation (and probably a lot of you here in the mid 20s-30s age range) has kept the Mario series alive. We were the ones who grew up on NES and SNES and N64. And we pass down those games and systems to the younger generations. If you think about it, younger children probably would not be into if it weren't for us showing them! :o |

I think he'll have trouble surviving the heat death of the Universe, but short of that, I don't see the series dying in the foreseeable future. About this thing with parents passing it on to their children: I bet it's going to happen, simply because it already has. I'm pretty sure 99% of the people reading this were not playing Donkey Kong in 1981 :P . |

Ha, nice one. Some parents do watch what their kids play but many just give them what they want. |

Mario's probably gonna last a longggggg time. It appeals to so many people and then the new generations'll keep buying the games, etc. Which is good, cuz Mario's pretty awesome. More importantly, I hope the Paper Mario series never dies. In 2090 they still need to be making those games (and if I'm still alive I'll probably still be playing them). |

The series may live forever, it's creator won't. I'm interested to see what happens once the mario creator retires. |

I do agree with you, Skittle. I know kids I've worked with who don't know who Mario is, and it's a little sad, but I wouldn't be too surprised. A lot of kids, especially boys, are into Minecraft nowadays. I substitute taught art last week, and the students had to decorate their portfolios and a lot of the boys were drawing Minecraft or talking about it. I mentioned Mario in one class, and some kids said "Oh we play Mario Kart!" So it seems to be dwindling down. And me being a huge Mario fan, I KNOW I am going to keep it alive when I have children one day. I already claimed I'm going to keep all the Nintendo systems we currently have. Hehehe. |

The Mario series will probably die when they make a Mario is Missing 2 but that will never happen! Maybe... |

Something about Mario in crossovers?
|
If they base all of the future games after New Super Mario Bros. then it might. But if I mention Mario, the only game every one talks about is Kart, so yeah.... |
