Souls cannot be bruised...

After spending some time with the game, I think it is very fun and addictive. The worlds are great, the game looks beautiful, the flying controls are great. However, there was one big gripe I had with the game: the land controls. Everyone's talking about these controls as absolutely horrendous, which they are. I hate them; a lot. I'm not sure if it's because I'm not used to them yet, but they're extremely difficult and a pain in the ass to control. I feel the flying parts are also more hectic and fun as well; more enemies, and less space = more fun. The game's fun, mind you, just not as smooth as I would have hoped, especially on land. I'm certainly looking forward to delving into more of the game. I'm only a few chapters in out of however many games there is. I must say, the on rails part of this game is quite fun and exciting to play. The graphics are beautiful too, and they really put the 3DS's depth perception to use. Although, I couldn't help but feeling I was playing a first-person shooter upon playing the on land portion. I'm not completely sure of the story yet, but so far, it's been pretty nice. The voice acting is good, better than most games, but not great. Although, the dialogue is hilarious. And one of the biggest flaws was also one of the biggest pros: talking goes on during the big battles. On one hand, it's terribly distracting, yet on the other, it eases you a bit. It gives you something else to focus on to the point where it doesn't feel as stressful to confront a big boss. The characters are all fun, and Spoiler: click to toggle One last thing, the cramps in my neck are excruciating. :P |

I managed to get the game for my birthday and it arrived today. I ordered it on Saturday evening and I only got the email yesterday afternoon telling me that it had been dispatched. I wasn't expecting it to be here so quickly... I'm not complaining, though. (: My birthday is three weeks away, but I don't have to wait until then to play it. So, I'm just going to finish the shit that I'm playing through now and then I'll get stuck into it. I'll be up for some online battles soon. |

sooo... i grew up with the original. big fan. i got this new one and ahhh, i ain't into it. been reading reviews and most people complain about the controls, which do suck, but honestly if you take PIT out of it, and all the familiar music & characters and all that... it's nothing i'd enjoy playing. i'm 3 chapters in and i don't think i'm interested in picking it up again. what do you folks think of it Edited by Ozma, Sep 5 2012, 10:55 AM.

I enjoyed this game, I just set it down after 15 chapters for some reason. I should start it up again. |

I really liked it. I didn't have a problem with the controls at all. (Probably due to my large hands) The storyline is pretty dull, but I think the multiplayer and weapon fusing parts are where the game shines. |

you've met with a terrible fate, haven't you?

I picked this up yesterday since it was on sale at Best Buy for 15 bucks. I just finished up Chapter 18. I'm really loving the game so far. The writing is great, definitely one of the most charming games this year, and I love the occasional fourth-wall breaking dialogue. I honestly don't have too much of an issue with the controls; air battles are great and apart from a couple frustrating segments here and there, the land battles aren't as bad as they're being made out to be. I also checked out the online last night and it was pretty fun. Definitely very skill-based but in no way cheap or unbalanced. |

Personally, I prefer land battles. Air battle is far too predictable for me and definitely not as challenging. Multiplayer really is great with this game. You'll rarely see any lag, and it really gives you a reason to fuse more weapons and replay the chapters. |
