Beats are actually really good. Bass is crazy, especially when I plug them into my beats audio laptop. It is actually pretty insane how loud they get, and they actually vibrate on my ear. But there are made for rap/hip hop music and not like jazz, honestly.
Also Apple is over priced Lol, my Skullcandy headphones had more Bass then the solos did and vibrated my ears, and they were 50.00? I've used the studios before, but they distort at times and the Bass overpowers everything. Even SONY has a better product called the XB500 and it actually is better than the Studios and it's only like $70?

No distort and the bass is only ridiculous when I use my laptop and put the Graphic Equalizer Settings on and Bass all the way up. Otherwise they are perfect on my phone.

I don't understand what's so nice about so much bass. It's disgusting and ruins the original equalization in most of my music. Takes away the attention from other important instruments.

For rap/hip hop it is awesome. Even dubstep. My friend has some subs in his car and it's sick. It can get annoying if it's too loud though.

My Studios are not like that at all. No distort and the bass is only ridiculous when I use my laptop and put the Graphic Equalizer Settings on and Bass all the way up. Otherwise they are perfect on my phone. And may I ask what other headphones you've used in the price range? If your ears haven't heard any other headphone, you may just be used to it. I remember when I first heard the studios and I thought they were amazing, then I heard some Sennheisers, Vmodas, Audio Technicas, and a few other brands of headphones and I realized how poor they sounded to the competition. With the other headphones I've used, I noticed how clearer everything sounded compared to the Beats. Bass was punchy and good, but not over powering. Mids were natural and came through clear. Highs were very good as well.
With the beats, not so much. The bass sounded bloated and muddy, while the mids and highs sounded somewhat lacking. Even for genres like rap and hip hop I noticed a difference. My friends who actually owned beats were really surprised when I showed them a few headphones of my own.
The only beats headphone I would like imo would be the Beats Pro, but they're way overpriced and even the Audio Technica m50 (which you can get for around $135.00) has won in multiple comparisons with it.

Please enlighten me more with you audiophile knowledge. I wouldn't consider myself an audiophile. I'm just smart enough to do research on products before I buy them. I'm not going to buy a headphone simply because it has Dr. Dre in it. No, if you buy headphone just because of that, then you're an idiot. Especially as expensive as it is.
In fact, I'll give you the link to the site where I learned a lot about headphones and audio: http://www.head-fi.org/ . Go search in the search box "Beats by Dre." Maybe you'll learn something too.

What I meant to say is I think that it would be silly to spend so much on a product that cost that high with out looking around and doing research, or at least that's how I see it. Sure, it might not break the bank, but as I've said, you can find better headphones for less.

Blowing all your money on things you could get better versions of for less is probably not a good idea.
