Does anyone do competitive swimming, or enjoy it simply as a hobby? What is the furtherest that you have swam in a single swim?

Do you prefer indoor or outdoor pools - or does it not matter?

I do miles about once a month, but I'm not very good so I don't go overly often.

Ich Bin Grammar Nazi.

I like indoor pools more, less leaves, bugs, and chance to freeze. Most of the time, anyway. Too bad I no longer have access to one. Anyway, I do like to swim, but I spend most my time sinking to the bottom to either look at the sky underwater or to grab unsuspecting small children.

I don't swim too often, and even then I'm a horrible swimmer.

Only in summer really at most.

I never go swimming now, but I used to be into it when I was a kid. I used to take lessons and when I was doing them, I got some certificates and badges for swimming certain distances and for doing these Water Skills things and challenges and what not. I still have them and the earliest one is dated June 1999 and the latest one is dated January 2002, so yeah, I must have been at the lessons for about two and a half years - I didn't think it was quite as long as that.
The furthest I swam was 800m.

I like swimming, but only if it's at like a hotel. Otherwise, no, because I can't really swim and the water has to be a specific temperature or I won't go in it.

I only swim as a hobby.

I thought about competitive swimming when I was younger, but I never got into it.

I tried to learn to swim, but it really wasn't my thing. Hated it when my school required me to take a class on it.
