"Well, you did suffer a concussion. All your mental processing circuits are in order...but you might have lost some data. I'm afraid there's nothing I can do about that, however." Heart-Man gingerly set the cloth back on the table. "Dive-Man wanted to speak with me, but he had to go out and fight...so I guess I'll wait for him here. You're free to do as you please unless you have commands." Heart-Man calmly sat down in the corner, leaning on the wall. He opened up a panel on his leg, and plugged it in so he could recharge while resting. --- As the clock tower in Mobius chimed nine AM, another alarm went off somewhere far away--a short, weak power surge flew into Roll's circuits, snapping her awake without causing her pain. She calmly retracted her recharging cable, and calmly stood up. Today was the day. She was finally being sent to the battlefield, she finally got to find out just how well she could fight. Needless to say, Roll was excited. Roll exited her room and walked down the hallway, trying to contain her excitement at this chance to prove herself. She knocked quietly on the door to Light's Workshop, and entered the room. "Oh, yes, there you are, my daughter." Apparently, Dr. Light had been waiting for her. "I've finished your combat armor--it was actually pretty easy to make." Without further delay, Dr. Light removed a cloth covering one of his creations, revealing the combat armor he had built. And needless to say, Roll fell for it at first sight. It was a perfect mixture of grace and power--modeled similar to a dress, but still fearsome in its own regard. The whole armor was colored light pink with bright red as trimming. Towards the bottom of the dress-piece, a bright red ring decorated the rim, with several thin, long triangles going up to about the waistline. A single bright red heart dominated the front of the helmet, with a break in the back to let her hair flow freely behind her. Complete with fully-red thin gloves and boots, the armor was truly perfect for Roll. But then again, it was what she expected. Dr. Light then began to explain the less obvious features of the armor. "Now, as much as I hate to build something compatible with that despicable Coda's technology, I understand this is for your safety...so there's a concealed slit on the back of the armor, for you to slide your sword into while you're not using it. Also, remember that this armor has the same technology as Mega Man's...so if you defeat another robot, you can try to copy their power and adapt it into your swordplay." Seven minutes later, Roll was suited up for combat and ready to leave. Just as she was about to walk over to the teleportation lab, Dr. Light stopped her. "Oh, I almost forgot. I'm sending Tornado-Man with you--not because I don't trust you, but he's finally all fixed up, and you'll stand a much better chance if you stand together." With that, a door in the Workshop opened up, revealing a greenish robot with some fearsome headgear... (No, I don't have plans of controlling Tornado, so could you do that?) Paradox and Nuclear continued down the street, and met up with a large, bulky green robot, one with two ammo belts around his chest and two large miniguns for hands. Gun Man: Ah, you're here! Nuclear Man: Yes, we are. Superconductor has been eliminated. Gun Man: Good! That leaves Lantern, Auto and Dynamite. Paradox Woman: ... Gun Man: What is it? Paradox Woman: It's... It's nothing. Status of the other dudes? Gun Man: Warp, Acoustic and Shatter are doing on their way, and Cloak has remained undetected. Paradox Woman: That's good, his intel is very useful, yes. And has Dr. Rythem given any additional orders? Gun Man: No additional orders yet. Paradox: Aight then. |

Tornado Man entered the teleporter next to Roll with a blank expression. He was good at masking his feelings- very good indeed- but he still was rather fearful. It wasn't like the Rebellions here- Wily's forces were underhanded, sneaky, and they actually posed a serious threat. He glanced over at Roll. It was shocking to see her in combat armor, but he must be there for her. It was a big moment for her, but he knew she wouldn't come out of this without a mental scar... Blue lights shot up from the teleporter. Everything became a blur... And then they were standing in a serene, green field- where only two miles west was where hell reigned... |

Roll sighed in irritation--she knew that Dr. Light had purposefully finished Tornado-Man's repairs quickly just to send him along with her. She didn't even stop to admire the beauty this new world had--even though that wasn't much, with the only things in sight being bombed cities and abandoned metal fortresses. Roll sighed again. She knew perfectly well what was coming up next. "It's blatant that you're about to play the war-seniority card and give me a command--so what do you want me to do?" |

Tornado Man looked at her. "I don't know... Go and fight. I wasn't told by Light to direct you... He said that Roll should be independent or something." "See ya soon, sis." He lifted off from the ground, and flew to the east away from the city. |

Somehow, Roll didn't believe what Tornado-Man told her--she knew it would definitely be a long time before she was treated like a standard fighter. So why was she suddenly being given total freedom? It was way too surreal to be true, but in the rare case that it might actually be, Roll decided she needed to do what would be the most helpful--after all, that is why she came here. So Roll turned on her heel and ran straight towards the city. Even though she wasn't exactly in control at the time, if she'd learned one thing from nearly killing her brother, it was that she had exceptional agility. So she pressed on towards the city as quickly as she could, and reached it in a matter of minutes. |

Shots were coming out everywhere from the city. Light bots were advancing from the left, Dive Man included. He stopped, noticed Roll, and gaped in horror. "Shit, there he is! Run, kid!" When she wasn't running, Dive Man ran as fast as he could, and at the last second pulled her away from something. Just as she was pulled away, Ground Man came up from the earth. "You... you will all fall!" he said angrily at the group of robots. |

Roll was too busy being frustrated at being called, yet again, "a kid." So much so that she failed to realize that the war-hardened Dive-Man probably had a pretty damn good reason to tell her to run. She could only look in horror at what she'd been pulled away from. No more than five seconds, and she'd had a near-death experience already. Roll's initial instinct was to run away, so she quickly dashed towards the other Light robots. If Ground-Man wanted to pick a fight with her, he obviously could before she reached them, so she hoped that they still thought she was as weak as before. |

A small bomb was thrown at Ground Man. An Antimatter Bomb, to be precise. Rythem, Warp Man and Acoustic Man had arrived. |

Ground Man crushed the bomb by clapping his hands together. Even though it did explode, it barely had any effect on him. He was just about to fire a giant Spread Drill- but he stopped. "... Roll?" Ground Man had been built by a close friend of Light's, and he was donated to the good doctor as a Christmas gift along with the other five Robot Masters from the 8.5th Rebellion. Thus, they knew Light's robots pretty well. Ground Man had stopped, but he remembered the commitment he made. "Grr... Prepare to be buried!" He fired the Spread Drill, and it barreled torward the robots. (Yeah, I know, weird, but I've never understood how Cold Man worked for Light. So I came up with that theory.) |

(I barely knew anything about &Bass anyway, but...apparently, King was a close friend to Dr. Light.) Roll saw that Ground-Man had paused briefly, then fired a shot. She was about to turn tail and run from the attack--then she stopped. Things change today, she told herself, and they're going to start when you start fighting. With a mighty heave, Roll jumped as high as she could, hoping it would be enough to dodge the Spread Drill. While she was in midair, she quickly brandished Virus, ready to start fighting when she landed. |

"What the... What is she doing?" Dive Man said, confused. He had fought against Ground Man before- and it was a terrible idea to get close to him. He was suprisingly fast for his bulk- he smashed Dive Man's chest with a swift punch. Dive Man would have called after her, but she did have to learn. He stood there with his arms folded, frowning. |

(Aaaaand there would be my lack of knowledge showing. I don't know any of their fight patterns, except for Dynamo and Burner.) Roll landed softly, though not as close to Ground-Man as she'd hoped. She tightly gripped Virus with both hands--she had to get close and deal some damage before he could fire again. Perhaps if she aimed for his cannons, the fight would be a little easier? She didn't have a lot of time to think this over, so on impulse, she dashed straight at Ground-Man, aiming a quick, short slash if she could get close enough. |

Acoustic had enough. Acoustic Man: Time to feel some BEATS!!! He suddenly started blasting enormous soundwaves from his chest speaker, enough to disorient, but not enough to damage them. |

"Well, thats up to you Shorde, we can either rejoin the fight or retreat and get rest, and hopefully smash some of Wily's robots on the way, i'm up for anything" said ProtoMan. "Gaaah!" screamed Ballade. "Ok that's it you guys are annoying." Ballade said as he teleported away. "Well Shorde, shall we get back to civilization?" asked ProtoMan. |

"Well, at the very least, you seem nicer than Ballade over there, so I'll let you in on a little secret..." Shorde dropped his voice to a whisper. "This island would fall down into the ocean if the Master Emerald weren't on it to keep it afloat...so if you're searching for it, it has to be somewhere on this island." Shorde moved back away from Proto Man, and returned his speaking voice to normal. He wasn't sure if they'd go for the Emerald...but if they did, that knowledge would help them. "Did you mention a fight? It's been a long time since I've gotten into a good fight...if you could show me the way to these guys, sure, I could help you fight them." |

"Thank you, you are helping a good cause, anyway I am actually searching for Chaos Emeralds, not the Master Emerald, if Dr.Wily gets the Chaos Emeralds then we are all screwed." said ProtoMan. "By the way, who are you?" asked ProtoMan as he pointed to Sebek. |

Shorde raised an eyebrow at "Chaos Emeralds." It might be a terrible thing if this "Dr. Wily" got them...but first he had to find them. Mobius was huge, and there's no inkling as to where any of them were now. With that, he turned his attention to Sebek--gee, when did he get on the hover-boat with them? "What's the matter, kiddo, can't you talk?" |
