"Euuugh...that doesn't sound too good. I'll get out there now, thanks for letting me know!" Completely forgetting about Roll for the moment, Heart-Man sprinted outside, quickly as he could. --- As soon as he had left the room, Roll suddenly woke up. She noticed a slight pain in her head, but she could ignore it for now. She was sure it couldn't be anything major. She stood up and got off the table, and walked to where Virus was laying. That certainly was strange...it didn't look any different, she didn't feel any different. She sure hoped Heart-Man was right about this being an upgrade. Oh, well, she'd have to wait to find out. She quickly slid Virus back into its sheath, and idled, waiting for a command from someone. |

The Teck was still in the room with Roll, and he was eyeing the sword carefully. "Nice sword you have there..." he said slowly. He noticed some oil stains on the table it was lying on before. "Tell me, Roll, did you ever run into Ground Man and Dynamo Man by chance?" |

Roll sighed quietly--like everyone else, the Teck only seemed to care about the sword on her back. Why does everyone make such a big deal out of it? "Yeah, I did...and if they weren't trying to teach me how to fight, they would've killed me. Why do you ask?" |

"Well, we found them massacred in an alley way- all by puncture wounds. And the only person here with a sword is you," the Teck asked, a hint of aquisiction in his voice. "Oil is on the table, too- the same oil on your sword... Well, isn't this interesting! We are trying to beat the Wily bots, yes- but not in such a brutal way. Not only that, but Ground Man's memory banks were wiped clean of all data with two swift blows to the head- and Dynamo Man's memory chip is gone. To further complicate things, you said something of a bent sword- perhaps you wanted revenge?" "Admit it, Roll," the Teck said angrily, "you murdered Dynamo Man and Ground Man!" (That Teck won't be happy with his decision...) |

Roll was more shocked than angered by what she heard. Someone actually thought she was capable of killing them?! Nonetheless, it wasn't her fault, and she had to explain how. "Y--you really think I would do that?! As evil as they may be, they're still family!" A strong beginning; now all she had to do was go down and meet his accusations. "I may have the means to do it, but I'm far from the only one capable of causing a puncture wound. What about Blade-Man, or Sword-Man? Heck, I'd look at Slash-Man; he would be one who's fast enough to get away before anyone else sees him. And there's oil on Virus because I landed one hit on them. One. And then they walked off... "Besides, I'm not an experienced fighter yet--like I said, if they weren't trying to show me how to fight, I would be the one lying out in the street, with all sorts of brutal injuries. I--I just can't believe you people sometimes!" A single tear formed in Roll's eye. "...It's like no one can see I'm the same person anymore..." (It's going to take more than that to get Roll to lose her temper. Perhaps even you are forgetting the kind, gentle robot she's still trying to be.) Edited by CHAOS_FANTAZY, Nov 14 2011, 07:49 PM.

"Slash Man was stationed on the East portion of the city, and Sword Man hasn't even been sighted here!" the Teck countered. "Even if they were around, Slash Man would inflict slash wounds that don't dig as deeply, and Sword Man's sword is too big for such precision strikes like that! Blade Man is still quarreling with his brothers back in Monsteropolis!" "That is the only sword that could have inflicted the multiple wounds on those bots! And even if it wasn't you-" The Teck stopped himself when the tear formed. 'Oh, great...' he thought. He didn't mean to hurt anyone's feelings. It was pretty apparent he was now. "Well, even if it wasn't you, they're still gone... Like I said, their memory banks are destroyed, so they'll be back at 'factory setting'." Everybody knew what that meant- they'd have to start over completely, with every memory they ever had gone from exsistance. They would go back to being regular service bots. "I'm sorry for the accusation, Roll... But it's war. War mucks up the spirit. It fills your mind with a chance of becoming a hero by doing something remarkable- or sometimes unremarkable..." "Get a good rest... You'll need it." He walked out of the room, his head hanging. |

"Perhaps that'd be best for them...after all, better in our hands than Wily's," Roll mumbled to herself. She sat down against the wall, and slowly sank into a comfortable position. Ever since the Hacker's Rebellion, it seemed Roll couldn't go anywhere or talk to anyone without running into a strange wall of emotions she didn't know how to deal with. Mega Man was always apologizing for what he'd done, her family just watched and mourned, and now typical everyday robots were accusing her of murdering her cousins. She didn't know how to feel about this sort of reaction to her--was she really so different from what she'd been? How should she feel right now? Angry? Sad? Afraid? Lonely? There was now a steady stream of tears flowing from Roll's eyes--and to make it all worse, she couldn't understand just why she was crying. Did even she mourn the girl she used to be? A quiet whisper escaped her lips--"What am I becoming...?"--before she fell into a fitful sleep. |

MEANWHILE IN AN UNDISCLOSED LOCATION "I'm telling ya, Freeze, it's her and Photon Woman- two most beautiful gals in my world. And one of them is my sister," Star Man said, staring at a picture of Roll. "Oh, shut up and help me with this thing." "Come on, Frosty, you have to at least say Roll is cute," Star Man said, with an lovesick look in his eyes. "Peh, I have a lot more to worry about than some silly girl. And your chances with her are 0.01%- also known as virtually impossible." Freeze Man said with a scornful tone. "There's always that 0.01% chance. You just said so yourself!" "Well, yeah, there is. But enough of that, just help me out." "One of these days, Freeze, I'll live out my life long dream. I'll go out to the farthest reaches of space with her- it'll just be us." "I'm very happy for you, lover boy. We've got work to do now, though, so let's go." He pointed to a box full of miscellaneous parts. Star Man sighed, and got up to lift the box. One day, Freeze. One day... |

(...Star-Man's in love with his sister...that's not creepy at all.) Heart-Man dashed outside as quickly as he could--then it occurred to him that he didn't know where the patients were. Oh, well, he thought to himself, if they're important enough, surely someone will come and tell me. It was then that he looked up and saw the multiple someone who were approaching the shelter. It was, indeed, Dive-Man and his platoon coming back from a battle. Heart-Man bowed to Dive-Man as a formality, then quickly dashed over to him. "What happened? Is everyone alright?" |

(...Actually, from what I can tell, Star's in love with Roll, not Photon. Star's not related to Roll.) Meanwhile... Vestra.EXE: ...Alright, I guess it's my only option... Hmm, should I fo it now or wait? With the means I have now, I'll be back in my original body... However, my interface with my tech will be gone, and my strength greatly reduced... But, if I wait to find a better way, something might destroy the house, and heavens knows that would be bad. Hmm... Such a delema, I can't deci- Alright, I decided. |

"Yeah, everyone's fine. Apparently Fake Man's checking out some odd case 6 blocks away, where we were. Might as well head over there," he said. --- "Interesting predicament we got here..." Fake Man said, eyeing the bodies. "Multiple puncture wounds- all stabbings. Obviously the work of a sword. Sword Man couldn't do it and Blade Man isn't here..." Fake Man put his hand to his chin. "Might have been a Gilliam Knight. He easily could have escaped in time and inflicted these wounds, and I have seen them here before... But who in their right mind would attack their own men? Besides, those are jousts..." Fake Man went over his notes, and started to leave. |

"Really, now? I was told it was an injury, not a murder...guess I heard wrong from the little droid." Heart-Man quietly walked beside Dive-Man. There was a lot on his mind that he would need to tell them at some point or another, but it would just have to wait for now. |

There was a power surge in the area around Vestra's house. Then, Vestra awoke. Vestra: ...Gah, my head... Well, at least my eye is sorta working, but my arm... *thunk* Nope, stiff. Damn. Better get the backup. She detatched the arm, and walked over to a cabnet in her lab, and took out another arm, this one somewhat skeletal. She installed it into the socket. Vestra: That's better. A lot weaker, but should suffice. Defense systems around the house seem to be down, with no way to interface... That's bad. |

Shorde was speeding off to the city, when suddenly, he found himself running into a wall. That's strange, I didn't think the city would be this close... he thought to himself. As he stood up, he saw that he had ran into a lab that was on the city's outskirts--far away enough that no one would probably bother attacking it, but close enough to still know what was going on in it. An old workshop of The Blue One's friend? No, it looked too nice and well-kept...perhaps it was the workshop of the "inventor" that annoying girl had mentioned earlier. Well, it was on the way into town, and he might find a weapon better than a rock fragment inside, so why not? Shorde calmly entered the building, looking around carefully. This place was far from the fight, but was anyone here at all? First thing to do should be weed out anyone that was here. "Hello?" |

Vestra heard a voice, and not taking any chances, got her basic hand-held buster. She walked towards the voice, and noticing it was a mobian, calmed down. Vestra: Oh, hi there. |

"Oh, good day to you. I suppose this place isn't deserted yet." Shorde briefly looked around the room, trying to get a feel of just how smart this lab's occupant was. The place looked to be full of technology--surely, if there wasn't a weapon laying around for him, the owner could make one for him. Of course, convincing her to do that would be another question. Out of the corner of his eye, Shorde noticed some small oil stains on a table. Well, best to be polite--Shorde turned his attention back to the girl he had run into. "Well, I was heading towards the big fight in the city--I'm sure you're aware of what I mean by that--and I happened to run into this lab. No, literally, I ran right into it while I was Spin-Dashing. I thought I'd just pop in and take a look around for anything that might help me--but enough about me, what about you? May I ask who I am speaking to?" |

Naturally, Shorde gave Vestra his fake name. "I answer to Lotus these days. Top-notch swordsman and warrior in what were the wars against Dr. Eggman. "So, you're an inventor? Probably the only one around, from the looks of it...you must be the one I heard about. I think I ran into your daughter earlier; she mentioned you briefly. So if you're an inventor, I assume you're pretty smart and have several personal creations--what do you have?" |

"Heart Man... I must tell you something..." Dive Man stopped abruptly. He looked over Heart Man, and cleared his throat. "Thank you. I don't know how, I might never know... But thank you. You've brought a brother back from the dead. That's something none of us were able to accomplish." "Although I'm fairly certain you know who I'm talking about, it's Skull Man. He wasn't always so... open." He started again, walking at a somewhat slow pace. --- Fake Man was walking back from the scene when he noticed Dive Man and Heart Man coming close. "Afternoon," he said cordially to both of them. "They're back there... If you want to see them, that is." |
