"Ah, well, that's a long story. Grab your refreshments now, 'cause I'm not stopping once I start.

"Our story begins with a man by the name of Dr. Coda--a quiet individual with quite an experience in science and engineering. He could clearly see where the robotics industry was going, so he was hopping along that bandwagon as well--he was even a sort of quiet rival with Dr. Light. When Coda finished his education, he retreated from the outside world, determined to build the most advanced, intelligent robots the world had ever seen. From causes unknown to me, however, Coda's thought's became malevolent--he decided that not only could these Robots impress the other scientists--they could double as his tools for taking over the world."
"Now, around here's when Coda tried something--in order to build the smartest robots, he first built the inverse. Dr. Coda's first creation, originally named Pyro-Man, was built. Pyro-Man wasn't necessarily dumb--he just didn't have that much of a thought process. All he had was a data bank of who was an ally, and his primary function was to burn to ash everything that wasn't set as an ally. Eventually, Dr. Coda saw this Robot was too dangerous--he came to be called 'Fire Wall,' and was sealed away in his basement. My brothers and I would sometimes see Fire Wall to train our combat, sometimes as a punishment for being bad...he may not have been as bright as us, but we all still loved him like a brother."

"After he honed his coding knowledge by hacking into several databases--this is where he gets his hacking experience--he crafted me and my brothers, although not nearly in that order. First came Wire-Man--he had a big mistake in it, but it turned out to be his strength. He's model TNG. Next came Poison-Man, also with a big mistake. His model became VNM. Then came Blackout-Man--STN--Delete-Man--DEL--and Tide-Man--ATR. Lastly, there's Fog-Woman--STH--Shard-Man--SPM--and finally, me, Heart-Man, HLR. If you weren't counting, that's eight of us, not counting Fire Wall. He also crafted a powerful robotic sword around this time, but I'll go into that more later."
"Anyway, we trained with him for several years--indebted to him for not only building us, but building us so well and so smart--until he announced his plan to us. He was going to steal Dr. Light's greatest creation, and use it along with us to take over the world. Our job was to protect him from any potential aggressors while he hacked into him. We received this news with varying degrees of excitement, but we had no choice in the matter. Dr. Coda snuck into Dr. Light's Lab and placed some small hacking devices inside Mega Man's armor--nothing powerful, but enough to sway even his justice-filled mind to come to Coda."

"Here's where things get interesting, now. One fateful day after a long time of peace, Mega Man makes a bold decision--after bonding with Roll for such a long time, Mega Man decides to let her wear his armor as a showing of trust." At this point in Heart-Man's explanation, Roll sets her head down on the table. "You can guess what happens next--Roll gets hit by the hacking devices, she comes to Coda instead of Mega Man. Dr. Coda is shocked, but he was prepared for this--he took Roll in and made her his instead. In addition, he gave her the sword I mentioned earlier. The sword was named Virus, and it has a reputation amongst us for being the one weapon we fear. If you see it at its full power, it is truly the most frightening thing to see."

"Anyway, he trains Roll to use the sword and sends all nine of us out to wreak havoc on the city. To make a long story short, Mega Man defeats all of us and infiltrates Dr. Coda's base of operations. Inside, he encounters Fire Wall and they engage in a brutal battle. Poor Fire Wall burnt himself out in that battle...we all think he's dead now. He might be alive, but we're afraid to go looking for him--he might have us programmed as not-allies right now. After that, right after that, he encounters Roll and reluctantly engages in combat with her. No one can remember exactly how the battle went, but we all know two things--Mega Man won, and it sure wasn't a landslide. When I saw Mega Man before he fought Coda, he had more stab wounds than a piece of Swiss cheese, and engineers still call it a marvel that Roll could do anything at all after the beating she took."
"Anyway, Mega Man defeats Coda, he gets arrested and placed in Wily's jail cell, all that good happy stuff. We come to Mega Man begging on our knees for forgiveness, and we find our places in society. Lastly, Roll kept Virus around--no one knows if she wanted to or not, but we'll find out soon enough."

By the end of Heart-Man's monologue, Roll was still lying face down on the table. One could hear her snivelling and saying depressing things to herself, but no one could make out what they were.
"Huff...oh, no, she's in that mood again. Roll still feels very bad about this whole thing--she really needs people around her for emotional support."

"Okay, you've had your fun, now it's my turn. Dynamite, do you have any idea why Wily wants this world?"

Dynamite: I think it's that he wants to take over any world, and saw that he'd have an easier time taking this one. That's all I know, though. So, you guys got a question?

"No specific reason, then? All right...I actually have a couple more questions for you. Hopefully, the answers will be more brief than mine. First...what's a Mobian? Second, how did your builders manage to put you back together so quickly? Lastly...Paradox, why are you a good guy?"
Roll wasn't letting up on her depressed state of mind. Heart-Man put a reassuring hand on her shoulder, trying to cheer her up. "There, there, dear, it's all right..."

Paradox: Alrighty... First, A mobian is the secondary species on the planet, behind humans. They seem to be half animal, and half human. Fully sentient, basically people like normal humans, they just look different. Second, Rythem works really fast. Third, well, Wily sorta reprogrammed us from the start. We weren't designed for violence, not even Gun Man.

"I went straight to Angel Island when I arrived through the dimensional portal, so no, I don't." said ProtoMan as he truned the dorrknob and opened it.

The train sped forward, nearing the warped gravity spot. "Oh, boy. I better stop in time!" he said to himself as he pulled the brake lever.

The train dropped to 50.
Then 40.
Then 30.
20.

It wasn't going to stop in time.

Desperately, Charge Man yanked the emergency brake...

...and the train managed to stop right in front of Warp Man. "All right, we stopped. Now, whaddya want?"

"...Okay, thanks for the exchange of information. If there's nothing else you'd like to ask, make yourself at home...most of the people should be coming back shortly to hide from King Gojulus. You can make them aware of your presence then."
Heart-Man then turned his attention back to Roll. "There, there, don't be like that! You've said it yourself...it's who you are now, and you have to make the best of it! ...Right?"
Roll lifted her head off of the table. She didn't say anything, she just nodded in reply. Good--anything to keep Roll from being sad. Because being sad was one stop away from being angry.
---
"...Well, that's concerning. Now we all have no idea what we're looking for." Shorde raised his head, and offered a little shout to alert the people in the building to his presence--if there were any, that is. "...Hello?"

Warp Man: What do I want? That weapon destroyed, that's what.

(OK, how the hell do you know that I have a weapon on the train?
And you say I'm cheaping this thing...)

"Weapon? What weapon? We don't have a weapon here. Also, stepping in front of a speeding train is pretty damn stupid," Charge Man said. "Now get out of the way. We're carrying soldiers over to Wily's Outpost thanks to some jailbreakers destroying them."
---
Sword Man was sitting on the chair, meditating.

How will they be able to accept me? he thought quietly. I was one of the Blue Bomber's worst foes, and now I'm supposed to fight with him. Quite a change of pace...

He stood up and walked around aimlessly.

(Warp Man was making an educated guess. After all, what ELSE would they be carrying?)

Warp Man paused, then got out of the way.

Charge Man huffed, and pushed the train forward. It got up in speed again and puffed away.

When they were out of range, Charge Man whistled and wiped his brow. "That was way too close..."

Warp Man was suspicious, so he had Cloak Man hitch a ride. Not to attack anyone, or do damage, just surveilance.

(Espionage go!)

The sending in of King Gojulos seemed to work well. Nearly all of Light's Robots were getting overrun. Wily's forces had taken a lot of prisoners, and it seemed the rest of Light's forces had no choice but to flee.

Dive Man was running back with Drill Man, Toad Man, Pharoah Man, and Bright Man. They dashed into the base.

They saw Sword Man there- he explained his new alliance- and they also acknowledged Proto Man and Shrode. Dive Man then walked into the operation room.

"Guys, come on. We're pulling out."

Then, Vestra, Crash and Sebek arrived at King Gojulos's position.

Vestra: Time to blow sh-t up.
Crash: Finally!

Shorde simply waved quietly to the odd robots passing him by. They weren't shooting him, so he could only guess they were friends of Proto Man.
---
Heart-Man was enraged at this sudden request. "Are you mad?! Not only are we still in desperate need of an operations base--if we leave now, we leave the last city! Society falls as a whole, Wily wins! We have to hold our ground here!"
---
Upon hearing her brother's voice calling out, Roll's eyes lit up. "Brother!" was the only thing she could think to shout as she sprinted out to the entry room and half-hugged, half-tackled him. "It's so great to see you! How are you? Are you alright?"

"Sometimes a general must flee in order to win- and this is one of those times," Dive Man snapped. "See us? We're the only ones left. That dinosuar trampled the whole thrid, sixth and ninth rebellions and half of us! There's no way we can win now. Wily still has some very powerful robots that can level what we have left. And besides... Wily offered to give all of the prisoners he took- a lot, mind you- if we left. And... Well, I'm about to go over to the comm center now and radio him..."

Vestra smiled as she set her blaster on "RPG" and started firing like mad at King Gojulos, and Crash also launched Crash Bombs at him.

The dinosuar looked at the pair, seemingly unfazed by the blasts. It then roared, and fired fire of its own.
