"Well, well, eight Robots...it's a small trickle, but we'll have to do with what we can get," Wire-Man mused to himself. "Well, I, for one, am willing to wait a while," Blackout-Man said. "We did nearly send all of these guys back to Wily, so I think it'd be a nice gesture to let them go first. I can wait until I know the pathway is safe--" "--and we know who this 'her' is," Fog-Woman glared at the Dark-Man. "If you're going to help us, you won't keep secrets from us, especially dangerous ones." |

Dark Man looked to both sides, then went closer to the cage. "We don't want the girl involved in this, all right? She's worried about all of us as it is- if she heard we're trying this, she'll stick on us like glue." Dark Man 2 checked the doorway. "Looks like we're all clear in this hall." "I'll go check the 3rd," Dark Man 1 said, heading out the door. |

Suddenly, Heart-Man remembered the information he'd extracted from Wave-Man. "Don't worry, guys, it's nobody who can harm us." "I wanna go first!" Poison-Man shouted, and banged on his cell door. "It's my specialty to destroy Robots; I wanna get out there as fast as possible!" "If we do send him in there, please send me with him," Heart-Man said calmly. "He can be a mite tough to handle at times, and I know how to deal with him relatively well...of course, just sending him and me in would involve splitting up rebellions..." |

Dark Man glanced at the Coda Rebellion. "We might be able to. Jus-" He was interrupted when Dark Man 1 came flying through the doorway and crashed into the wall. "Ow... Eep! I apologize, Sir, I didn't see you coming-" "Give me my robots. Now." Dark Man strained to see the man's face in the shadows, then quickly unlocked the cages. "Erm... Heart Man, Blackout Man, Tide Man, Fog Woman, Delete Man, Poison Man-" The man stepped out of the shadows, his face red. "You know who you are! Get out of here now!" The Dark Men, terrified, cowered in a corner- while someone stood up. "These guys aren't going anywhere." It was Toad Man, blocking the way to the cell door. Magnet Man also joined, and so did Plug Man and Flame Man. "Mess with them- you mess with us," Magnet Man said. "Get out of my way, you inferior drones!" "Never!" "Then I'll just make you!" The man (obviously Coda) flew his fist forward, punching Toad Man right in his eyes. The robot flew backwards, and crashed against the wall. He then grabbed for something at his belt- a gun. |

"What do you want with us, you despicable man?" Heart-Man said. "We haven't done a damn thing to you; now leave us alone!" Coda's Robots carefully drew their weapons, in case the Robots guarding their cells failed. He was a reasonably good fighter, but he likely couldn't measure up to his Robots. Besides, as long as Coda attacked first, the Third Law of Robotics allowed them to protect themselves. |

"You robots are failures!" Coda shouted, his face red. "Being defeated by these washed-up old models- it's pitiful! These robots are twenty years older than you, and you get beaten? I designed you better!" "Either you were mistakes to make- or this is a plot." Toad Man got up, shook his head, and sat back down. Dust Man took up his guard position. "There is no concievable way that you could've been beaten by foolish, outdated models like-" "Dr. Coda! You are needed for a meeting with Wily now!" Coda sighed. "Fine, I'm coming." He went back to the cage, and stared Heart Man down. "I'll be coming for you and your friends later." He walked off. Dark Man slowly got up. "I think it would be safe to get you out first..." |

Fog-Woman gripped the bars of her cell tightly. "Please," she choked out, "nobody scares us more than Coda. We were his pride and joy and practically his children when we helped him, but...but now..." Her voice trailed off, partially because she was sure they got the message; partially because she didn't really know how much Coda hated them. "I'm sure you understand," Delete-Man chimed in, "for our safety, we should get out of here now." |

Dark Man nodded. "Get them out of the cells, now." Dark Man 2 opened the doors. "This way," he said quietly. He led them up the elevator, then into the teleportation room. He fidgeted with the door, then opened it up. "Here you go, all set for Mobius," he said. "Good luck going back..." He was pondering his own fate if Coda took out his vengence on him and his brothers. Quickly, he punched in coordinates into a control panel, then motioned for them to get inside. "Go! And good luck, again." The teleporters flashed, and they were gone. --- After a short meeting with Wily, Coda stomped back to the jail cell ten minutes later. He was furious with his robots still. "All right, give me my robots." "Err, they needed to get oil on the ground floor... We sent them up with Dark Man 2," Dark Man 1 said. Suddenly, Dark Man 2 came running inside. "They're gone! They attacked me and made a run for the teleporters for Mobius, and I couldn't stop them!" Coda looked at the frightened robot. "You expect me to be fooled by a lie like that?! You turncoats! Wily wouldn't be dumb enough to send a whole Rebellion at once, and you don't have any injuries! If I can't have my robots, I'm going after them!" With that, he raced out the room, putting on a special suit from his lab. "What do you mean you're going? The teleporter isn't safe for bioforms!" "This suit is designed to protect against the harmful rays it presents. Considering I'm feeling a little generous today, I won't rip your arms off and crush you into pieces- maybe I won't even tell of your little plot to Wily- but both will happen in a flash if I'm blocked by any of you." Dark Man gulped, then motioned for him to follow him. |

The Coda Robots received an unusually convenient deploying point, in the middle of The Last City. Given that he was the only one that had been here before, Heart-Man took the lead. "Okay, now if you follow me, take a left over here, and--oh...that's why our teleporter's not working. What the hell happened to our base?!" "Okay, just to review: Delete, Blackout; you two clear up the rubble and see if anyone or anything is salvageable. Look for Skull-Man in particular, if you know who he is...and if you don't, you'll know him when you see him. Fog, Tide; you scout out the area around us and see if the person who attacked our base is still nearby. For destruction of this magnitude, they couldn't've gotten far. Wire, Poison; you act as guards and start patrolling the nearby streets. Wily's forces could be anywhere; we need to be ready. Shard, you're with me; we're going to go look for Roll and Shorde and be sure they're okay. All clear?" "Clear!" With that, the Coda Robots set out to their assigned tasks. It was perfect--they were striking a good balance of offense with people like Poison-Man on guard, and defense with Heart-Man leading a search party. He looked through the city rather quickly--he had left Roll alone for a good time, and he hoped nothing bad had happened to her. |

The train was finally inside the base. Charge Man was satisfied he had run into minimal trouble. "Let's be careful, boys- that's a very precious load." A bunch of enemies began unloading a covered cargo. Shade Man flew over to Charge Man, and both covered the giant crate- one in the front, and the other in the back. They eventually put the weapon into the secret weapon storage, guarded by a sad Napalm Man. "Guard this very carefully, Napalm," Charge Man said. He only sighed and nodded. With that, Charge and Shade Man boarded the train, turned it around, then started out again to get more cargo. |

After a quick search, Fog-Woman and Tide-Man located tracks on the outskirts of town. Unfortunately, they were train tracks. Fog-Woman sighed, and quickly contacted the others: "No dice, Heart-Man, that was a drive-by shooting from a train or something. There's no way we'll catch up to a train." --- "Got it. Well, get away from those tracks for now--we don't want them to know we're on to them. For now, go help Delete and Blackout with cleanup." Heart-Man gingerly switched off his communicator and continued his search. --- Considering Slash-Man was downed and not really worth worrying about, Shorde turned his attention to Vestra. "So, um...we meet again..." |

The train continued to roar through the countryside as it began to enter city limits. Oddly enough, the radar was picking up... enemies. "What the heck? I thought we captured every one of them..." |

As Tide-Man was quietly walking back to the ruined Light Base, he suddenly heard a roar in the distance. The train, no doubt, and they would be seen. Even if he managed to find cover, Fog-Woman was lagging behind him a bit. "Oh, well, if they're going to spot us, we might as well make an impression..." Tide-Man firmly planted his back against a building, facing the tracks. When Fog-Woman came by, he signalled for her to keep going; he would be back in a minute. As the train barreled past, Tide-Man raised his buster towards the cars. Unsure and uncaring if anyone heard, he shouted but one thing: "GREETINGS FROM THE TERMINAL, YOU INFERIOR PILES OF JUNK!" With that, he fired off four of his light rockets at the train. --- With some careful deleting selections, Delete-Man had managed to resurface what remained of the Dr. Light teleporter. As Fog-Woman approached, they started discussing whether to repair or scrap it. They came to the conclusion to wait until a regroup, and they continued their work on cleaning the rubble. |

Just afterwards, Charge Man heard some odd shout, and a loud explosion. "What the hell was that?" Charge Man demanded. He looked back to see two cars near the end with giant craters on them. He detached them, then looked to see who could've done that. With the shout, it sounded like something one of the Coda bots would've said- "So those crazy idiots are back again, eh? Form Buster Wall Formation 3, and take them down!" A swarm of enemies suddenly went to the sides of the train cars, led by Shade Man. They all fired into the city, targeting Tide Man, whom they saw earlier. |

Tide-Man smiled when he saw that he had caused them to drop some of their cars--that should make their operations a little bit tougher. His smile vanished when he saw the enemies coming out to meet him. Especially Shade-Man. Tide-Man never talked about it, but he hated Robot Masters who could fly, as they reminded him of the one terrain he was not master of. Tide-Man had a total of twenty rockets; counting the ones he just used, he had sixteen left. He could put together some more of them as soon as he had a spare moment, but it would probably be time-consuming...dared he return fire and use up more of his stock? Without time to consider it further, Tide-Man dove to the side, hoping to sidestep the attacks aimed at him, and fired one rocket at the car where Shade-Man was stationed. --- "Yes, we've met. He ain't a bad fighter, if I do say so myself. Anyway, we were sort of looking for you...I'm sure you heard the explosion...our base was blown to pieces. My robotic companions here could use your services--" Shorde pointed to the badly damaged Paradox-Woman-- "...look, we shouldn't be fighting with each other, alright?" |

Tide-Man saw that what he hoped to not happen had happened--Shade-Man had decided to follow him. This attack was supposed to be just a hit-and-run, so he needed to run, now. With this in mind, he put his powerful legs to work and dashed into a nearby building. In here, he would have the upper hand--not only would low ceilings keep Shade-Man from hanging himself over his head (if he gave chase, that is), it might allow him to use some water to attack instead of more rockets. Tide-Man quickly located a sink in the facility, and started gathering a basin of water in it. Plunging his left arm into the water, aiming with his right, he waited for Shade-Man to inevitably pop up from nowhere. --- For once, Shorde was happy. He was glad to see Vestra was willing to put aside her hatred and help a fellow out. "If it's not too much trouble, we have another one here, but it's not nearly as urgent...they themselves are fine, but their armor is badly damaged--" "My name is Roll," the young girl Robot interrupted. "Okay...Roll here needs her armor repaired, too." |
