(I thought "lockdown" simply meant locking all the entrances/exits, so no one can enter or leave the building.)

(And Finite...using a knife, just like a real spy. I'm so proud.)

"You should know better than to imply that Coda Robots do anything quietly. I was just in that prison, and I'm not going back anytime soon. Eat this!"
Tide-Man pointed his cannon at Heat-Man. He fired, and it was at this all-too-late time that he realized he was disarmed. "Damn it!" he shouted as he stomped on the ground, "they must have been really thorough to get my water tank!"

Roll slowly picked herself up off of the ground. On the plus side, she had kept her ground, but she had no idea where Virus was now. Swiftly looking over the Second Wily Rebellion, she found it in Metal-Man's hands. With more than just a hint of anger, she marched over to Metal-Man as quickly as she could. "Give it back," she demanded coldly.
---
"Fine. Run, you cowards, but next time, don't expect any mercy from me!"
Shard-Man carefully pushed his two halves together, and a couple hot red lines went over him, sealing them back together. Soon after, his left arm reformed in a similar manner.
Shorde just stared in bewilderment. "I...wha...how did you do that?"
Shard-Man stood up, and offered a smile. "I doubt you care about the specifics, so I'll leave it at this: radio connections and lots of built-in welders. Come, now, that's enough action for now...and I think Junk-Man ripping me in half tore more than a few fluid cords. I'll be fine for now, but I need repairs. Let's go back to the base."

The two started a slow pace back toward the Dr. Light base, looking for any more possible ambushes.

(Tei's a master assassin. She has her ways.)

Paradox and Dynamite swore.

Paradox: Without weapons, what will I do?
Crash: Oh, this sucks.
Vestra: Whine, whine, whine. So what if they have our weapons?
Crash: What do you mean?
Vestra: I'll take 'em on with my bare hands!

Metal Man looked at her with her same expression as if to mock her, then burst out laughing. "You expect me to give this back after we took it from you in order for you to not use it?" He then went very serious. "OK, here you go."

When her arm reached for it, he pulled it back again and had another fit of laughter. He nearly fell to the ground, then regained his composure. "Ah... Ah ha ha... I think that Coda fella was messing too much with your pretty head. I think I oughta take a look with some of my surgical equipment..." he said menacingly, pulling out a Metal Blade and revving it in his hands. "Now, get back with your friends and put your hands up."

"And as for you, fox-lady..." Metal Man then turned, the sword still firmly in his grasp, "I could easily disarm you- literally- if you believe your arms are dangerous weapons..."

Suddenly, Wave Man and Junk Man came running down the street, panting and looking worse for wear. "There are still two more! They're going to check on these guys, I just know it."

"Well, damn. Cuff them, and load them into the train. We'll deal with the others when they come," Flash Man ordered.

The robots did as they were asked, then directed them to the train, which was parked just outside the city. "Let's go, up into the car," Wood Man ordered. When he noticed they weren't going to comply, he shoved them in.

Then a buster shot whizzed past his head. "What the hell?"

"Stop! Stop that train now!"

It was Bright Man, leading the five other 4th Rebellion Robots behind him. "Argh! How are they all coming back!?" Air Man said angrily.

"Come on! Get inside and keep your head down!" They all got inside, and the train started to lurch forward. Shade Man and a few Sniper Joes kept the others at bay by shooting at the attackers. The train then started to gain speed, and it left them in the dust.

Vestra, on the train, smiled. She grabbed her robotic hand, and disconnected it, then reconnected it, without the cuff on it.

Vestra: Idiots.

Heart-Man repeatedly bashed his head against the wall of the train. "Hey, if you think you're gonna break it that way, you've got another thing coming," Tide-Man told him politely.
Heart-Man turned to him, his all-too-often grim expression on his face. "It's not that...I got you all captured. I should've warned you more about their powers...we could've won if I had been more helpful to you guys. But in my haste, I'd made an error, and look where it got us."
---
Roll fell onto her knees, staring dumbfoundedly at how quickly the mission had fallen apart. Her allies had been captured, her weapon stolen, and she had been insulted yet again by another Wily Robot. All of these contributed quite well to a growing well of anger deep within...
It was at this point that Shorde and Shard-Man came running. Recognizing her golden yellow hair, Shard-Man quickly ran over to Roll's side. "Roll! Are you all right? Do you know where Heart-Man is?"
Roll slowly stood up, and for once, she couldn't say she was alright. "The train," she whispered, "the Second Rebellion came...all of them, captured...Virus, stolen..." she choked, pointing to her empty sheath.
"Well, we'll just see about that! Which way did that train go--" Shard-Man cut off his own statement, and his eyes fell upon the tiny oil trail he was leaving when he walked. He couldn't help it; he was injured, and he couldn't guess how long he would last without repairs from Heart-Man.

Shorde walked over to a curious Robot with a light on his head. "I don't understand what's going on here," he said, "but you're not shooting me, so you're probably a good guy. One; can any of you fix my broken buddy over there, and two; can any of you do anything to slow down that train?"

Vestra quickly activated the lock-pick function of her robotic hand, and picked the lock of her left cuff, taking it off.

(Actually, I'm pretty sure they would've disabled the arm. I mean, come on. It is robotic. And you can't just take the cuff of the arm, either.

Jeez, do people think cuffs are that loose?)

Bright Man looked gloomily at the train, headed for the Wily outpost. He then just shrugged, and fired at the wheel closest to them. It only bounced off.

"Nothing I can do. I mean, I could stop time, but I'll have to get really close. And Flash Man could just nullify it... Damn! I knew we should've gotten here earlier..."

He then turned to Shard Man. "I know a lot about repairs, but they are very crude and temporary methods which I doubt will work with what is provided here... I'm sorry, but I cannot do much."

He then turned to Roll. He had nothing to say to her about the sword, especially since his first thought had been "good riddance." "Err... Don't worry, Roll. I'll try my hardest to put that sword back into your possession. All right?"

(Yeah, Finite; if Proto's buster is disabled, then the bionic hand is useless right now.)

Roll didn't respond to Bright-Man's comment, mostly because she knew he didn't really care. No matter who she brought down with it, nobody would ever love Virus as unconditionally as she was. She just turned and stared at the train as it rocketed off into the distance.

"Stop time; really? I thought you could only freeze people..." Shard-Man mused. "Well, we're in a bit of a dilemma here. About half our fighters are on that train, and I'm slowly bleeding out over here. I need repairs, and the people who could actually repair me are on that train. Well, Dive-Man, I've heard you're the war general around here--do you think I should power off and preserve myself, or keep on so no one has to carry me?" As he waited for an answer, he put his radio up and contacted the last two Coda Robots still on patrol. "Wire, Poison, get back here. There's an emergency, and we need help."
"And more importantly," Shorde added, "how are we going to catch up to that train? That thing's almost as fast as The Blue One himself, and we don't know its destination!:

(How would she be able to take off her arm if the other arm was cuffed too?

I was talking like electromagnetic cuffs that don't allow the hands to be linked, not police-grade ones.

And Dive Man wasn't captured, silly.)

"Power yourself down in a safe location. As for the train, I've got nothing. It's running at virtually sonic speeds now..." Bright Man said. Then his face flushed red, and he clutched his head. "Argh! They'll surely win at this rate! This is downright awful... With that sword, they've got Light's last hope on that train! We've got next to nothing! We're doomed!" He sat on the hill. "Wily's forces have Mobius firmly in their grasp... And this is just one little part in his master plan!" he moaned gloomily.

(You didn't specify.)

Vestra sighed at the links.

Meanwhile, in the engine room, Cloak Man figured out what to do. He began firing at the engine.

(Yeah, he wasn't, so shouldn't he be with--
Oh, yeah, he's still in Monsteropolis, staring at a broken teleporter. My bad!)

"I don't want to be out of the fight; I came here to help Heart-Man, and that's just what I'm going to do. Besides, I think nowhere in this place is safe right now."

Shorde found himself addressing Bright-Man as well. "I think The Blue One used a word to describe dialogue like that...I, I think he called it 'quitter talk.' And the one thing you never hear the blue one say is 'quitter talk.' He would never let himself take a defeat lying down--and in that spirit, he never was truly defeated. So are you just going to stand there and let 'Wily' walk all over you, or are you at least going to give him a good roughing up before you go?! Besides, you never know--"

"YEEE--AAAAA--HOOO!" The psychotic war cry of Poison-Man interrupted Shorde's monologue, and he dashed up with Wire-Man. "Alright, I'm ready to break some heads and--wait, where's the emergency? I don't see enemies...matter o' fact, I don't see nobody! This had better not be a joke..."
"The sheer absence of everyone is precisely what the problem is, brother Poison-Man," Shard-Man calmly explained. "Every last one of the Coda Robots and a couple new companions of theirs were just captured on the train Fog-Woman broadcasted about a while ago. I'm injured, so I need repairs, too...you're the physically strongest of the group, so could you carry me and go to the Wily Outpost?"
Poison-Man was rather disappointed that there wasn't a fight here, but "Wily Outpost" reeked of one to him. "Sure thing!" he said with a chuckle, "anything to help a brother out!" Seconds later, Poison-Man had a deactivated Shard-Man slung over his shoulder. "Uh...now, which way is the Outpost? You! Lightbulb dude! Do you know?"

"I could care less of your 'blue one', seeing as neither yours nor ours is here and most likely never will be. I have been pushed around by Wily here for too long- I have reached my limit. Go off and do something idiotic while I attempt to muster back the courage to stand up to that monster..." With that, he fired a shot in anger at the train.

The buster shot flew right into the train window, and knocked Cloak Man into the scalding-hot engine, creating a loud banging noise.

Air Man and Quick Man arrived in a flash and noticed the imposter. "What the- Get me the cuffs." He clicked the iron cuffs onto Cloak Man, and led him to the prison car. They shoved him in, and went back to their duties.

ProtoMan regained conciousness. "Ughh..that...hurt." ProtoMan said as he sat up. "Wait...what happened to the cell block? And how do I disarm this disabaling mechanism?" Proto stood up, and saw the door leading to the weapons chamber (or whatever Magnet called it) and saw that the place was on lockdown. "Really, they still think i'm a threat even with my buster disabled!? These guys overetsimate too much." ProtoMan said to himself. The he looked around, looking for a way out.

And with that, Cloak Man closed his eyes, annoyed.

Cloak: Now who can help us...?

Meanwhile, catching up to the train, was Sebek on his hovercycle. He was quite pissed.

"Oh, most wonderful," Heart-Man mused, "we have a new guest. Is it safe to assume he's a rebellion-mate of yours, Paradox?"

"Well, we may be stuck on this train together, rocketing off to what is most likely to be our doom...so if we want to save ourselves, we should probably stop hating each other. That starts with you and me, Vestra. So, let's address one of the reasons I hated you the most--why did you feel it necessary to make changes to the Robot I asked you to repair earlier? Furthermore, I didn't see you doing that to Paradox or Roll..." Heart-Man briefly looked around the prison car, and noticed that Roll was not there.
---
Shorde couldn't help but laugh. "Man, oh, man, I used to have the same problem you did, pal. That's how my world was lost, but it was also how I met The Blue One. I dunno how it works down home for you, but I've learned something--here in Mobius, idiocy is but a short walk from bravery. I'll see you later, I think I'm holding up the line." With that, Shorde moved out of the way.

"Lightbulb dude! I asked you a question, and no's a fine answer! Do you know the way to the Wily Outpost?!" Poison-Man shouted as he walked closer to Bright-Man.
---
Shorde quietly ambled over to the train tracks, where Roll was standing alone. "Um...Roll?"
Roll addressed him without facing him; she wanted to watch the train. "Yes?"
Shorde grabbed Roll's shoulders, and spun her to face him. He knew how upset she was about losing her sword--mostly because it had happened to him, too. "Um, it's Shorde, if you didn't know. Two things...one, I see how upset you are over losing your sword...so until you get it back, I'd like to offer you mine."
Shorde passed the blade into Roll's hand, and she examined it carefully. She tried to wield it one-handed like she did with Virus, but it was much too heavy; she was forced to use two hands. "I appreciate the thought," she said, "but this thing is no more useful than a sledgehammer in my hands. I might call to use it sometimes, but I'm more of a one-hander..."
"Understood," Shorde said as he took the blade back. "Second thing..." Shorde firmly took Roll's hands in his own. "...try not to scream."

Not understanding at first, Roll must certainly did scream when Shorde curled up both her and himself into a Spin-Dash, and rocketed off towards the speeding train.

Paradox: He's my brother, yes.

Vestra: Whenever I work on something, I try to improve it to the best of my ability. I don't understand why one should have themselves limited, it makes no sense. As to why I didn't upgrade anyone else, well, no time. I was in a hurry.

Sebek got his hoverbike to on top of the train, parking it there. He drew out his sawed-off shotgun buster, and advanced towards the front of the train.

Shade Man had seen the hovercycle advancing, and flew up from the car to ambush him. He fired a charged Noise Crush, and two others , forming an indogdable wall.
