Dust Man finished cleaning and repairing Skull Man. He was unable to shut him on due to shortage in power, so he hooked him to a power charger instead. Cleaning again as usual, he bumped into something metallic. "Wha-" he began to say as he spun around.

He found himself staring at his brother, Dive Man. "Dive Man! You're back!"

"Yes. Nice to see you, Dust Man. I'm not alone, either."

Right behind him was the Blue Bomber himself, smiling at Dust Man and holding a few rolled-up pieces of paper. "Mega Man? What are you doing here?"

"Oh, I'm not here to fight. I'm going to be studying plan-making. I need a bit of experience should I find myself in this position," he replied. "Dust Man, mind assembling everyone from patrols and such?"

"No, no problem. I'll gather them right now."

Soon, Dust Man was busy making calls to the allies, sending off a short message of returning to base.
---
"Aha! Over here! I'm getting a strong reading in this direction," Venus called. They were soon near a large ditch. "Hey, Neptune, you down there?" he called.

"Aye! I lost me footing! Don't exactly have the best landlegs, ya know," a voice called.

"Hmm... How do you propose we get him out, mister?" Venus asked.

"Hmm..." Shorde took a moment to ponder the situation. He briefly considered telling Venus to go down there and that he would help both of them up, then deserting them, but they would get out eventually--and besides, they still hadn't done anything related to the Chaos Emeralds.
With that ruled out, Shorde was actually sort of stumped. The walls of the ditch were a tad high for even him to leap out of--especially while carrying Venus' ally--and he doubted his sword would be much help. But this got him thinking about something else, and he looked at the other two hopefully. "Well, what sort of fancy-schmancy powers do you guys have?"
---
Wire-Man was walking along calmly, enjoying a conversation with him, when suddenly his radio was on again. Oh, how annoying it was to be distracted like that.

Minutes later, the Coda Robots came walking back from their patrols, Heart-Man out ahead of them all as usual. "This had better be important, because night guards are--Oh, Mega Man!" Dropping his hasty walk immediately to bow to him, Heart-Man was overjoyed to see the hero in blue out on the battlefield. "How on Earth did Dr. Light let you come?"

"Well, the guy down there has the power of very corroding salt, and I have... bubbles. They can rise upward, but not down... plus, I can't make them big enough to carry someone."
---
"Oh, he didn't mind much. He knew I needed experience with leading armies like this, so he sent me in as a sort of general. I'll only assume combat duties if required," Mega Man said. "Say, where's the new Light Series? Didn't you tell them we're moving the base?"

"We are?" Dust Man said, confused. "Yes. This place is too open. We're going to move supplies and equipment to a more secure location now. We'll have to move the teleporters, probably. We can make a new comm center and medical bay, yet we might need to take some things... Come on, everyone. Someone has to take this stuff."

Behind him was a whirring, and a robot silently stepped out of the teleporter. "Rockman, nice to see you again," the robot said.

"Ah, nice to see you too! Everyone, here's our new ally- Quint."

Shorde found himself stifling a laugh--hearing Venus' method of attack had put him back in a good mood. "R--really? Bubbles? You Robots come in all sorts of types, huh...well, demonstrate how these bubbles *could* be used for some lift. Because I think I might be on to something."
---
"Well, to be honest, I don't like this location either. Moving the teleporter will prove difficult, but better to move it somewhere else than keep it here--at the very least, they won't know where to hit us out there..." Heart-Man trailed off, because as he looked around, he spotted someone he cared for a lot: Skull-Man. Sprinting over to his side, worried for his safety, Heart-Man shot off statements quickly: "Welcome back, Skull-Man! Your helmet is somewhere amongst all this rubble; ask Delete-Man, maybe he found it. You may not want to wear it, but it still has protection value you should acknowledge. How long have you been out? Sorry for not repairing you earlier. Someone get this guy up to speed!"

Someone else had some sprinting over to another's side, as well. When she noticed there was more conversation than usual, Roll lifted her head and glared around angrily, thinking it was more talk about her. When she saw her brother over by the teleport pad, though, her face lit up and she got to her feet immediately. Her brother was someone she could really count on. He had destroyed what was wrong--including the wrong that had inhabited her--time after time, and she knew he'd do it again for her.
"Mega Man! I...it's so great to see you!" Upon nearly knocking him over with her tackle-hug (Unsure if it was her own strength or just the fact that she had caught Mega Man off guard), Roll turned to the teleporter to see who else was coming. "And...Quint?"

Blackout-Man walked over, sharing her confusion. "Dr. Coda had told us that Quint was dead! Sort of tragic, really...but how's he on his feet again?"

Mega Man returned the given hug warmly, barely managing to stay on his feet. Quint, on the other hand, shot a confused frown at the robot adressing him. "Dr. Coda? Hmmmm... I think I might have heard of him, in the fut- Oh, wait, right. I apologize. I remember now... Yes. That Rebellion fell into general obscurity after a much more serious threat arose in the coming months. But I must'nt reveal the future, as it might have terrible consequences... Anywho, no, I did not perish. I nearly did, but I managed to escape a fiery doom aboard Wily Star. Since then I've held a tad of contempt at Mega Man, but my respect for him overshadows whatever jealousy remains. Thus, I decided to join you fellows."

Dust Man whispered to Heart Man Skull Man was charging, and then asked, "Quint, where's your weapon? It doesn't look like you have any..."

"I was recently equipped with a buster, if that is what you mean. Also, my Sakugarne comes from a spawner on my belt, so yes, I do have weapons."
---
Venus shot an angry glare at Shorde, then made a few bubbles rise up. They exploded with a loud pop, and caused caustic soap to spread around. "That what you wanted to see?" he asked, a bit hurt.

From the group of Coda Robots, Fog-Woman uttered a quiet sigh. Most of the Coda Robots were of the opinion that Quint was a bad idea, and if he were still alive, he should be sent back to the future. Not only was a person from the future going to write things in stone and make people feel hopeless, it was weird to have this klutz without any great weapons telling them so much they didn't know. It was depressing, or at least unnerving; as the Coda Robots were of the opinion that nothing was definite until it happened.

After a brief silence, Blackout-Man spoke again. "...We shall see how forgotten Dr. Coda is. For now, though, he is the most dangerous man alive, and I'm sure you guys know it--whether you like him or not. Anyways, it's curious that you escaped, but all the Mega Man Killers were obliterated for such a long time. Not that we want you dead, but still. Personally, I think it's a little silly to spend such a long time hating yourself, but it's good to have you on our side.
"Speaking of the Sakugarne, I recall your reliance on that one weapon what destroyed your chances of beating Mega Man. It's good to hear that you have a buster now, but have you changed anything about that spiked pogo stick? Because it had always seemed impractical to us..."
---
"Oh, it's nothing, you Robots are just a little amusing to me. Sorry; everyone I've met thus far has been sophisticated and uptight! And explosive bubbles just strikes me as an...odd change of pace."
"Well, now that I know they explode violently, I've got an idea," Shorde explained. "Does the term 'rocket jumping' mean anything to you? The whole idea is to propel oneself upward by tossing an explosive beneath you. It's surprisingly effective, despite how dangerous it sounds. Anyway, Venus, you jump down into the ditch." When Venus gave him a threatening glare, Shorde started talking a little faster. "You detonate your bubbles beneath your buddy there to propel him upward--and if he doesn't make it, I'll catch him and pull him up. Then you can do the same for yourself! Sound like a plan?"

ProtoMan looked at GlitchMan. "Well it was nice to meet you. If you will excuse me..." ProtoMan teleported back to where the train wreck was. He figured Roll would've already left the building by now.

Time's up.

Vestra looked at all them, and gave a almost high-pitched giggle.

Vestra: The future? Awesome! I was there once, nice place.

She put whatever was in her hand into her mouth, and smoked it a bit more.

"Admittably, I found it a pretty useless weapon, too. Yet it's programmed into my system, so it's hard to get rid of it. But I digress; I'll offer whatever help is possible. Of course, with the copy weapon system I recently installed-"

"You have a copy weapons system?" Mega Man asked in disbelief.

"But of course! The buster wouldn't help me completely, and the Sakugarne is fairly useless, so I went ahead and grabbed a copy weapon system. Not very hard, honestly."

"Well, whatever. Come on, we've got to get this stuff moved," Mega Man said, picking up a box next to his feet.

"All riiiiight, you have the Copy System to depend on. That'll make you much more of a threat. Well, come along now, there's work to be done."
With that, the Coda Robots started carrying what they could. Heart-Man picked up Skull-Man, and Roll assisted him. Not knowing what the results would be, he offered some form of comfort to her: "I know that you have every right to be furious with me right now, but at least your brother's here now. As soon as he knows of your condition, I'm sure he'll focus on keeping you from hurting anyone you wouldn't want to...right?"
She did not respond, and he was unsure if that worried him more or less than what her response might have been.

Poison-Man approached Vestra, carrying a heavy object that he would guess was important. "Sorry that everyone's ignoring you, but us Coda Robots don't like the future. Now, you gonna help or stand around and talk?"

"Well, all right..." Venus said silently. He slid down into the ditch, and attempted what Shorde said. He pointed his buster under Neptune's feet, and he shot upwards out of the ditch. "Yeeooooww! That stings, ya fool!" He managed to grab onto the side, and he pulled himself upwards. Venus did the same, and soon they were both up. "Thanks, mister. We'll be heading on our own way. Maybe we'll bump into you again."

The two departed torwards a cave in the distance. "Looks like an incredible source of power is coming from the bottom-most depths of that cave... Come on," Venus muttered quietly to Neptune.
---
"So, where are we going to put the new headquarters?" Dust Man asked. "Most likely on the outskirts of the city," Mega Man said in reply.

"Most likely? We don't have a definite position yet?"

"Err, we kind of do. We have a general safe area in which to put the base. I'll show you where when we get there; we're already building the outpost and it should be done soon."

Shorde merely nodded. "Anything to help a noble citizen; it's what any good knight would do. You two have a safe evening, alright?" As the two StarDroids walked out of sight, Shorde put a hand to his chin, pondering what he had said. Which was more important right now--the knightly code, or defeating Doc Wily? It was true that when he acted like The Blue One, he tended to be at least a little more effective, but he simply couldn't abandon how he had spent most of his life...
Bah, he decided, I'll do what I need to. With that, Shorde started looking around for some shelter to spend that night in. Eventually locating a nearby cave, Shorde walked a short distance into it, and blearily looked out to the setting Sun. As soon as it fell, he would fall into sleep.
---
Tide-Man walked up beside Mega Man, wishing to share his practical thoughts. "What if we hid inside an existing building instead of building a new one? We wouldn't have to be moving our base in the first place if Wily hadn't known where to hit. We might as well try not to make it inherently obvious this time..."

"Oh, I know. We're occupying another building - Drill Man's already wroking on the other part with a few others."

"Anyway, where are those LAS Robots? Didn't you radio them?" Mega Man said to Dust Man. "Yeah, but they never picked up..."
---
All eight of the Robot Masters in the LAS were together. Oddly enough, they had hit a dead zone in the city, so their transmitter never picked up the signal. Watt Man was leading them through the city, being careful to look for enemies. "All right, we should be near the base soon-"

"What base?" someone asked. The eight circled around, and Flash Man, Wood Man, Air Man, and Crash Man were standing behind them. "Err, the base that we... we go to... for oil changes. Yeah, that base," Signal Man said quickly.

"Oh really? I doubt it," another voice in front of them said. The oher four, Heat Man, Bubble Man, Quick Man, and Metal Man were standing in front of them. "Is this some sort of new base?"

"No. Get out of our way, or we will use force."

The robots took a step forward. "Try us, lighthead!"

"OK. Everyone, 1..."

"2..."

"3! Poof!"

Suddenly, Watt Man zipped down an alley with the other seven, and the robots gave chase. "Hey, you chicken! Get back here!"

(This is what I get after listening to Pee Wee Herman songs...)

"Ah, I see. Reinforcements and additions may make it clear that the building is...different...but I suppose we'll need somewhere to set up. Anything's less obvious than that pile of rubble, anyways."

Perhaps it was just his night-instinct getting to him, but Blackout-Man could swear he heard quick footsteps off in the distance. "What was that!" he suddenly shouted. Without any warning, he dropped his box (Which Poison-Man quickly picked up) and dashed off towards what he thought he heard. Heart-Man tried to explain: "Blackout-Man becomes a little more...aware at night. He may find something important; best to let him go. He should be back shortly."
---
Upon finding that his watch was talking to him again, Shorde tiredly looked at it. Leaning his sword against the wall, he focused on the watch as hard as he could--which, admittedly, wasn't very hard at all, given his state. "I'm about halfway between 'tired' and 'asleep.' Unlike you Robots, I don't get my fix by plugging into a wall. If you want something, make it snappy." Shorde was far too tired to notice that his companion was standing at the site of the train wreck.

"Well, I meant Drill Man was working on an underground segment of pathways... But whatever. Just where are those eight?"
---
"Not good, Not good, Not good! They're gaining on us!"

"Agh... Sleet Man, can't you slow them down?"

Sleet Man shook his head.

"Drat... Lead them into a building... a lit one!"
---
Venus and Neptune reached the cave, and saw it went down quite a ways. "The cave is nearly six miles deep... You ready to find something?"

"I better be, else I won't be comin' back up," Neptune replied with a sigh. "Let's roll." The two jumped down a ledge, and started their journey of six miles to find whatever was down there...

"Well based on that I can hear you from the comm and outside so clearly you are..." ProtoMan turned around. "Right behind me...so, hi. Anyways i'll take watch while you sleep, you never know when an enemy shows up." ProtoMan said. "And just so you know, I have a nuclear energy core that gives me my energy, all other robots have a solar energy core. So all robots, except me, actually need sleep, becuase they need to power down and wait 'til the sun rises so their solar energy core can use the sun to covert the rays to energy, since I have nuclear, i'm not limited to more...um, animal habits, anyways, goodnight, I have something to ask you in the morning." ProtoMan said.

(D'oh, I forgot about the whole solar energy core thing...everyone else thus far has been charging from electrical outlets.)

"Well, all right, then..." Shorde mumbled lazily. "I appreciate you protecting me, comrade. Um, just so you know, I saw two guys called the 'StarDroids' or something earlier on...dunno where they are now."
Now leaning his head against the wall, Shorde thought--or at least, thought as much as he could, given how tired he was. As the Sun sank, plunging the land into darkness, Shorde fell into a deep sleep.
---
"Oh, who knows? They could be dead, captured, or simply not want to listen to us. Heh heh, that's probably it," Shard-Man muttered to himself, reminded of how egotistical he and his brothers were when they were fresh out of the factory. "Don't worry yourself about them; we'll do what we can to find them when we can."
---
Following what he had only guessed he'd heard, Blackout-Man chased the footsteps through the twisty turns of the city for quite a while. When he found himself running out of places to run to--the footsteps always seemed to be just out of sight--he sprinted into a nearby building.
He didn't need to look up to know that the lights in there were functioning. "Hee-hee-hee! My favorite time of day, and my favorite place to fight! Whoever these guys are, they don't stand a chance!"
