"Down, down, down... Kaboom! Ha! This is so easy!" Gyro Man exclaimed as a fourth city bursted into flames. He headed back to Wily HQ. "That's the fourth city. Grenade, Search, and Napalm Man should be taking down a fifth. This world will be ours in no time at all!" "Hold it, Gyro Man. We must not get cocky. Only when this world is firmly in our grasp will we truly be able to claim victory," Gravity Man said. "Gravity Man. Heliconfer City is down," Napalm Man said. Another big X was drawn on a map. "Heh heh heh... At this rate, we should be able to mop up this world in mere days. Keep going, we mustn't stop now." |

Heart-Man was surprised to feel Shade-Man pick him up before he launched his attack at Charge-Man. Then he felt pain and shame as a pair of fangs were buried in his neck. How could he forget that Shade-Man also had a draining attack? Heart-Man landed with a thud, with a strange mix of liquid coolant and oil leaking from his neck. He needed to wrap this fight up now, and get himself patched up before he ran out of coolant or oil or some other important liquid. So it was time to bring out the real reason he chose to use his Welding Fist. Eyeing a circular saw in the room, he carefully set his left hand on its supporting bar. Slowly but surely, he was melting it, and soon he would be able to use it as a weapon. But until then, he needed to hold them off--he fired several shots from his Regen Cannon at both of his aggressors, hoping that he could hold them off and repair himself at the same time. |

Vestra: If anyone tries to bomb my city, I'll blast them out of the skies. In fact, as a last resort, I have an ultamite weapon: An EMP device that will cause every single robot to shut down, and be destroyed. Tiamat: Wait... If you used that, it would kill you! Vestra: So be it. |

The two robots bobbed and weaved, avoiding every shot. Charge Man punched him in his jaw. "Nice try! But you'll have to be quicker than that! Dust Man's waiting for you!" |

Heart-Man knew he couldn't sustain many more hits, and when he suffered another, he knew he was down to one. Bits of metal flew from around his neck, exposing the lines that let him send commands from his processor to his body. His nurse's cap flew off of his head from the punch, too--but nobody touched his cap and got away with it. Come on, come on--yes! He could feel a soft spot on the sawblade's handle. "Why, yes, Dust-Man is waiting for me. He specifically called me here, I'll have you know." Heart-Man tugged on the saw handle, bending it slightly. "Quite frankly, I'm a little honored that the people here trust me enough to call me as a good guy. I suppose it's just one more way I'm superior to you Wily bots. Admit it--there are many of you, but you lack the quality that went into us! "So I'll ask you one question, before I destroy you--" Heart-Man pulled hard on the handle. It finally gave way, thank the lord, and Heart-Man turned off his Welding Fist. Heart-Man was now wielding a giant circular sawblade that rotated on its own--truly a deadly weapon to behold. "Where is your medic now?!" With that, he gripped the sawblade and took a heavy swing at both of his opponents. |

"Shit!" Charge Man yelled as he braced for impact. However, he felt no pain... "What the-" He noticed that Shade Man carried him at just the right time. He also shot a charged Noise Crush at the sawblade, knocking it out of Heart Man's hands. "Admit it! You will never be a good guy! You never were, and that won't change at all!" Shade Man lighted to the ground. Charge Man seized his hands, knowing quite well the weapons they contained. He crushed the Regen Cannon with one strong squeeze as some oil splashed on his face. "Wily could have used someone like you... But you're of no use to him now. We've had our fun; come on, Shade Man." "But you haven't killed him yet!" "I've done the best we could. Who will come for him anyway? That fool Concrete Man is with us, and Dust Man is half dead- AND in half! We can't lose ground. Gravity Man will kill us if we don't bring back the generator." "Right." They knocked out Concrete Man. Charge Man put him over his shoulder, and Shade Man carried a medium sized generator with him. "Have fun dying!" they shouted as they left the complex. Heart-Man fell onto his knees, unable to stand up straight. He looked at his broken Regen Cannon--his favorite weapon of all of them, destroyed? He switched it back to his arm, and luckily, that was still intact. Heart-Man had never seen his own internal fluids before--Mega Man had fought and defeated him, but it wasn't nearly this...messy. Heart-Man knew he was in a critical state, and that he only had one option for survival. He sighed. He had hoped he would get to use this on Dust-Man. Luckily, foolish Charge-Man had forgotten to break his other arm. Heart-Man opened up his left arm's weapon menu, and scrolled down to the one weapon he rarely ever used. Without hesitation, he entered the command to switch to it, and--at a worryingly slow rate--Heart-Man's left hand changed into a simple black pad, with bits of electricity shooting from it. This was Heart-Man's most powerful weapon, the Energy Shocker. Its primary use was as a defibrillator, to shock bio-forms back to life and recharge robot's batteries. It also served a combat use, though--if Heart-Man could hit an enemy robot with this, they would be overcharged and shut down instantly. It had one key disadvantage (which was turning out to be Heart-Man's advantage), though--its power was so great, it couldn't rely on Heart-Man's battery to function. Instead, it ran off of Energy Tanks, which Heart-Man could insert into his left arm to power it. And Heart-Man could never find any E-Tanks as a villain. But being the resourceful thinker he was, he had stocked his arm before he left. Without hesitation, he flipped open the panel on his arm, and grabbed the E-Tank from inside. This caused the Energy Shocker to power down, but that was the least of his worries right now--without a second thought, he cracked open the lid of the mysterious tank with his teeth, and shotgunned the entire thing. Nobody knew quite how Energy Tanks worked--but when a robot consumed one, it healed them of all the damages they had suffered. Now, for the first time, Heart-Man watched in awe as this happened to himself--broken bits of chassis reformed right where they belonged; the Regen Cannon was refitted to function; the energy inside filled his system, replacing the oil and coolant he had lost. It was like magic. Or science. Or maybe even some odd combination of the two. Heart-Man stood up, both glad and mystified to be in perfect condition. "I may never be hailed as a good guy...but I'll never stoop as low as scumbags like you!" (Yeah, it was a cheap shot. But did you really expect me to let my character die? On a side note, to "shotgun" something is to drink an entire beverage without stopping.) |

Ballade looked up at the mpunain and saw a hedgehog resembling shillouette. He jumped up from the emerald shrine and landed on the side of the mountain and started jumping up from ledge to ledge. Finally he reached the top... "Who are who?" Ballade asked. "Are you in possesion of what is called the Master Emerald or know of it's location?" --------------------------------------- ProtoMan walked through station square and ended up at the docks he saw a tour boat. "Last call for Angel Island visitors." (Maybe I could look for a Chaos Emerald there...) ProtoMan got on the boat. And the boat started floating in Angel Island's location. |

(Actually, Shorde's last move was hedgehog-rolling down the mountain to see Ballade more closely, but I suppose I can meet you halfway. Literally.) From the glimpses he could see from this ball format, Shorde could see that the purple figure had noticed him, too, and was moving towards his location. At halfway down the mountain, he jumped and screeched to a halt, meeting the figure. He looked like a human in purple-and-yellow armor, but there was something...Iunno...metallic about him? He reminded Shorde briefly of Metal Sonic. Oh, how he wished there was a Metal Shorde for him to battle. He was rather confused by their quick questions, though. "Nobody 'round here knows my name, what makes you think you're special?" It was true--nobody in Mobius knew Shorde's real name. "As for the Master Emerald, I'll be damned if you have a clue of where to find it. It used to sit right over there all day--" Shorde nodded to the Emerald Shrine "--by the Echidna clan, but about twenty years ago, they moved it somewhere else for safety. Why do you want it, stranger?" |

"Urk... Get up, get up..." Through sheer will, Dust Man forced himself to be rebooted. He heard some odd clunking noises. He looked down, and noticed a single Telly hitting him. It seemed glad to see he was awake. "What...?" He remembered subconciously hearing shooting noises. Perhaps Concrete Man broke free? No, that's ridiculous- Even he couldn't break those ropes they use. He was still befuddled about the small Telly in front of him. What was he going to do? How did he even get here? Unfortunately, that was answered all too soon. "So, it looks like the search was a success!" "Yeah, that Telly did its work well!" "Oh, shut it, you nincompoop. The only reason it was working is because we forced it to." "Well gee whiz! No need to call me that." "OW! Watch it with that thing!" Search Man appeared, putting his hands- er, hand- to his hips. "We've been looking for you, Dusty!" "We hear you've gotten some important intel!" "..." "Well, out with it!" "Us four are the only ones here!" "Yes, I have it... But shouldn't I keep this up some more?" "Concrete Man's already on to you!" "Yeah, you can't risk it now!" "Oh, fine... I actually wish to stay a good guy, though..." "Fine, then. Give us the intel-" "-and you can stay a good guy!" "Ugh, all right... It seems that Light has sent in a support bot of sorts... Heart Man. From the hacker's rebellion-" "Not info like that!" "Oh, right, the IMPORTANT stuff..." He thought for a bit, trying to jog his memories. "Light's building new robots to completely decimate Wily's forces here. They'll be much stronger than all of you combined." "Wh-Wh-What?" "Who are they?" "I don't know... The medic might be coming, you better leave." Search Man, looking rather nervous, left the area. |

Heart-Man continued his search for Dust-Man, having no luck as of yet. He sighed. He might have saved himself, but where was the guy? Then he heard the best indicator he could hope for. Voices. He couldn't make out what they were saying, but he knew they were close by. Heart-Man approached the sound as quickly and stealthily as he could, until he could make them out: Search-Man and Dust-Man were the two talking. Search Man was from the Eighth Rebellion. He had a split personality and a painfully accurate missile launcher. Heart-Man pressed himself against the wall, taking in as much of the conversation as he could. "It seems that Light has sent in a support bot of sorts... Heart Man. From the hacker's rebellion-" "Not info like that!" "Oh, right, the IMPORTANT stuff..." Heart-Man gritted his teeth. As much as he wanted to spring into action and show Search-Man how important he could be, he was in no mood to get beaten up again, especially considering how difficult it was to dodge his Homing Sniper. "Light's building new robots to completely decimate Wily's forces here. They'll be much stronger than all of you combined." "Wh-Wh-What?" "Who are they?" "I don't know... The medic might be coming, you better leave." Heart-Man rolled his eyes. Great, he thought, more robots for Wily or Coda to steal. When will Light learn that every time he builds something, it will fight for evil at least once... When he was sure Search-Man was far out of earshot, Heart-Man emerged from his spot by the wall. In the room he had entered, he saw Dust-Man. Er, half of Dust-Man. This was not going to be an easy job. "...The medial was closer than you thought. Well, let's get you ready for surgery..." Heart-Man calmly arranged Dust-Man's various pieces in a form he was used to working with. He kept eyeing Dust-Man's buster, as he knew he never used it. "Now, this might hurt, but I think you'd rather be on your feet again." Heart-Man switched to his Welding Fist, and carefully started melting all of Dust-Man's internal wires back together. |

"Well" Ballade said "My master is looking for it. He wants to se the Chaos and Master Emeralds power to take over MY world. My master says that our world is in an unfit and chaotic state and that it needs a ruler to sustain order. But there are people preventing him from accomplishing his dream. Their names are MegaMan and ProtoMan." (I have to stretch the truth a little bit to trick him inot helping our cause.)Ballade thought. --------------------------------------- ProtoMan was still on the boat but he could see a glimpse of an island in the distance. Which he assumed was "Angel Island". (I have a bad feeling about going on that island.....but its too late to turn back....) |

"Hm..." Shorde looked over the purple-armored fellow, sizing up who he might have to fight. He was bulky, but he could move quickly, and that would be very annoying to deal with. He could see that wherever this armor had come from, it was designed for combat. Then he mused over the person's statement. It was very carefully constructed--but he noticed one flaw. "You call this person your master, huh. And why do you call him this if he does not yet control the world?" |

"Because he created me, I am a combat robot" explained Ballade. "Created to destroy MegaMan and ProtoMan, who are also robots...I don't know why they figth for a corrupt and chaotic society whne my master, Dr.Wily can make the world better. But my friend will you please help me accomplish my master's dream?" (Keep streching the truth....almost completely convinced him...) |

Shorde raised an eyebrow at "combat robot." This guy was reminding him of Metal Sonic more and more--and Metal Sonic, last he checked, was a bad guy. "So you're a robot? Huh, I never would have guessed from your appearance. So...this "Dr. Wily" character built you...y'know, we used to have a problem that reminds me of yours. We had a guy around here that would build a buncha robots and try to take over the world all the time--of course, he's been defeated, but it's what he did. How do I know this guy and this "Dr. Wily" aren't in similar situations--let alone, how do I know they're not the same person? |

"First of all Dr.Wily is from another dimension, the one i'm from, second Dr.Wily is German assuming your scientist isn't German, third Dr.Wily is taking over the world for a good cause." said Ballade. "And by the way...my name is Ballade."

"Considering that our scientist has been missing for such a long time, it most certainly could be." Shorde said calmly. He had made his mind up--he wasn't going to help this guy. "And you would not believe how many times we got fooled by our professor. Well, best of luck to you, but from the sound of it, I can't really trust you--you're on your own." |

"By the way..."Ballade said. "Dr.Wily isn't fat." *shows picture* "Well then...since you won't help me I guess this is goodbye..." ------------------------- ProtoMan was still on the boat when the boat passed by the Emerald shrine and looked up at the mountain and saw Ballade talking with what appeared to be a hedgehog. ProtoMan hopped off the boat jumped from ledge to ledge up the mountain like Ballade did. "Stop right there Ballade!!!" ProtoMan yelled. |

Shorde examined the picture as closely as he could--with the short time Ballade had given him, this wasn't long. Well, if that is The Fat Man, he's certainly lost weight. Then he saw another figure dashing up the mountain at him. Shorde was seeing all sorts of people he didn't recognize today. Perhaps this was one of the people Ballade had been talking about "fighting for a corrupt society." Then again, maybe not. Nonetheless, they seemed violent, and Shorde threw his hands up into the air. "Woah, calm down there, man! He's not hurting me, and I didn't tell him anything!" |

"Hmm... Interesting. This must be where the Master Emerald was. And yet that fool Ballade and that traitor Protoman are here..." Sword Man mused to himself. He was observing from the same mountain as Shrode was before. --- Dust Man slowly moved his left and right legs. Both seem fine... he thought to himself. He was still rather angry with himself- he was sure he had been caught... |
