Heart-Man just watched in disbelief. He had offered to go on a mission with this guy earlier...either he was just stupid in general, or he had hit his head a mite too hard during the fight. It's not even the right shade of green, he thought to himself with a grim smile. Heart-Man turned his attention back to his work, and eventually decided to do Air-Man next. Suffered from an internal explosion, from the looks of it--well, that's what he has coming to him for having a gaping hole in his torso already. Still being completely silent, Heart-Man started taking the parts and welding them together. |

(I should probably post right now, huh) (Also the others never arrived so technically the MM2 bots aren't here but whatever) The other LAS bots eventually arrived, all visiting Mega Man and expressing sympathy for his plight. He seemed to be apathetic to most of them, wishing to be left alone. He only adressed Sleet Man. "Hey, buddy, I heard you were hitting on Fog Woman... Good luck," he said indifferently, and went back to reading. In truth, Mega Man really couldn't decide whether to be furious or saddened. It was true, he had an immense sadness that he was unable to help Roll for three months, but he was also fuming at the fact Heart Man simply dismissed everything he tried to tell him. He can heal a whole army of its emotional wounds, he thought angrily, but he can't even give one guy solace that his sister will be all right... He could care less about what Heart Man might've been thinking. Probably about how he's going to put nearly 120 others to shame with my little sister, he thought shrewdly. He didn't feel like dwelling in these dark and unhappy thoughts- it made him frown, which he never liked doing (unlike Quint)- so he continued to read, trying to find at least some comfort in one of his many written adventures. --- "He's what!?" "I'm sorry, Dive Man, it's just-" "Argh... You dolt! I'm supposed to be leading the army with him! Who the hell did it?!" "Roll." Dive Man's face lost all of it's color for a second, then it quickly flushed back in. "Well, at least I can take a lot more hits then that puny cottonball... Where is she?" "Dive Man, I'd strongly suggest against that." "Why, damnit? Why!?" "Well, seeing as though she put Mega Man in the hospital for months with one slash, you are aware how much some consecutive hits might do, correct?" "Urgh... Yes... I suppose. But this can't go unnoticed! She's in so much trouble, it's not even funny... But I'll let it slide for the time being. Can't lose both important generals, after all..." He strode off and headed torward the infirmary. He only cast one angry side-glance at Roll, and another at the sword. He shook his head while looking at it, then walked through the door. |

(Oh, well. I did mess up, but don't act like you haven't before.) Roll just sighed, and met Dive-Man's powerful glare with a sad gaze. What more could she do? Dive-Man already had some sort of predisposition against girls--no matter what she did, there was no way he'd ever like her. Seeing as she likely wouldn't be leaving the building soon, Roll took a seat out in the hallway. What was she going to do now? Rock had come out, but she had struck him down as quickly as he arrived--she had struck him down as quickly as he arrived. She had barely forgiven herself the first time she hurt Mega Man, but now it had happened again, much worse than before...and from the sound of things, it could happen again so very easily. Now more than ever, Roll needed help--but who would help her? She couldn't answer that, and that scared her more than anything. --- Heart-Man was barely working as it was--halfway busy tempering Air-Man's fan back into shape with his Welding Fist, he watched Mega Man and company in the infirmary, wondering if it was worth opening his mouth again. Heart-Man loved nothing more than to tell his patients they'd be alright, but with all the meddling those other foolish Robots had done...he just couldn't say that anymore. He sat there, mulling this over (and slightly amused by the fact that someone would dare try to hit on a Coda Robot), when Dive-Man stormed in. Heart-Man did not look up, but he did stop his work. "Here to yell at me too? I guess everyone else is." |

(Actually, I've had a pretty consistent record with this RP. My only real crimes are disappearing from time to time and neglecting other stories.) "No, if you can believe it," Dive Man said sternly. "I'm here to talk to my partner." He turned his gaze to Mega Man. "Hey, Rock. Heard you took a nasty hit." Mega Man put down the comic book and nodded. "Well, don't be too hard on yourself. She probably didn't mean it." "Yeah, I know..." Mega Man grumbled. "It's not her fault. I know that." "You can still carry out the duties you came for, though. We're going to have to end this thing as quickly as possible before either of those nutty doctors start putting a superweapon here- like Gojulus, or... Well, never mind. The last thing you'll want to hear is that..." "Hear what?" "Well, we've gotten spy reports that Coda headed back to Monsteropolis, and is apparently working on some secret weapon. We don't exactly know what it is, but... It's not good. Only know that it's humanoid. We have the name- Malware. He wrote it on some of his blueprints." "Who got the information?" "The Dark Men. Smuggled it to us through the communications channel. Whatever it is, Rock, I'm guessing it has to do with your sister." "What? What do you mean?" "Well, Coda used to have Roll, but now he doesn't. He wants something we have. What did Wily do in this situation?" "He made Bass... Oh, no. No! Something like that couldn't happen, could it?" Dive Man just turned torward the door. "It already is. Get better soon, Rock. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but you know me- always a sour-puss," he said with contempt, aiming a glare at Heart Man. When he left, Mega Man just buried his face in his hands. Not only was he stuck here, unable to protect Roll and the others, but now Coda was building something that could easily demolish his sister with the state she was in now. Mega Man then looked up at Heart Man. "Fine, Heart Man, I'm sorry. You're right... It was all my fault. It was all of our faults that this all happened! Not yours! But you heard Dive Man, now Coda's making something even worse! Something that could beat my sister worse then any of my friends could! Please, Heart Man, please train her to get better with that sword! Don't take it from me as an ally- take it from me as her brother! I couldn't stand to see her be beaten so badly!" |

(...Not sure if this is you goofing again or actually dropping a subtle hint for once, but...oh, god. Malware decided her own name. Which means Coda's not working on her...she's finished.) Heart-Man breathed a sigh of relief and went back to work when he heard Dive-Man wasn't here for him, but as he listened to their conversation, he wished that Dive-Man had come into the infirmary seething with rage at him. At the news of a new Coda Robot, he froze, mouth agape, as Air-Man's fan clattered out of his hand. He knew this day would likely come eventually, but he had never expected it to be this soon...no, not now; Roll was enough to worry about-- Heart-Man quickly smacked himself in the head for disobeying his own rule about wishing reality wasn't what it was. Coda was building some sort of superweapon, and since he knew whose side his last creations were on, it was likely that she--this "Malware"--would be stronger than all of them. One thing puzzled him, though...what was his real motive for building her? Surely, he couldn't want Roll...she was just the wielder of the almighty blade. Did he seek to make another Virus? No; Virus would take years to replicate... Completely ignoring Dive-Man's glare, Heart-Man only snapped back to attention when he heard his name called. To his shock, it was Mega Man--pleading for his help. Heart-Man placed Air-Man's fan back on the table, carefully listening to his plea. When he had finished, Heart-Man looked straight into his eyes--something he hadn't really done recently. "So that's how it works, huh...you hate me and you insult me and you want to kill me, but now that the cards of power are suddenly in my hands, you crawl to me begging for mercy like Dr. Wily fresh out of his Capsule. Is that really how it works, Rock?" Now, Heart-Man closed his eyes. "As stupid as you make yourself look, you are right. This new Coda Robot...this 'Malware'...there's no doubt she could easily defeat your sister. Even though helping her would be beneficial to both of us, do you really deserve it?" Heart-Man stood there in about ten seconds of silence, but he knew it must have been an eternity to Mega Man. When he spoke, he was unsure how much he meant: "...You're lucky I like your sister almost as much as you do, Rock. I'll see what I can do. As aforementioned, however, this is not the way Virus is meant to be used, so we must decide what course of action we should pursue. I'll talk to my siblings after I--" One look at Mega Man's expression of despair quickly made Heart-Man change his mind. "...Scratch the repairs, I'll do it now." He swiftly left the infirmary, and as he turned his Welding Fist back to a normal hand, he switched on his communicator. "Coda siblings, emergency meeting. Yes, it's an actual emergency this time. Now." Of course, some took it better than others. Particularly not looking forward to the hike back were Fog-Woman and Blackout-Man, currently searching the city for Robots that The Infectant had scared off. |

Mega Man only sunk back in his pillow. A shadow was cast over his face, and he felt like he was starting to shake. Yes, he had made himself look like an idiot, but he didn't care. He only cared what happened to his little sister. Unable to think about what might happen to Roll, he only hoped Heart Man and his siblings could help. --- Dive Man had started walking out as abruptly as he had walked in. Now as he looked at Roll, a confused grimace met his face. I wonder what she'll do against that thing, he thought bluntly. Turning his attention to Quint, he ordered him over. "If you're going to be Mega Man's replacement, you get to do his homework with him. Time to plan out some more wartime strategies. I'll start you off at level one." Quint nodded. "First, I better see Mega Man. He probably needs some reassurance." "No problem." --- Quint walked into the infirmary. One glance at Mega Man showed how truly desperate he was. "Quint! I'm so glad to see you. You can tell me how this all works out, right? Of course you can!" "Sadly, no," he replied bluntly. "What? Why not?" "You're life's an open canvas right now. You'll be sent back to Monsteropolis to recieve repairs from Light. After I rested a while, Wily from the past came and stole me." "What?! Steal me and make me you?" "Oh, no, you'll be fine. If another Quint is made, well, it wouldn't work well in the universe. We would just have a bunch of Quints piling up. But I'm afraid I never got that far to see what would happen to our sister. I knew it... I've been irritating everyone so much with how I say everything's set in stone, and just when someone needs that cursed ability, the time runs out." "I... I'm sorry, Quint. I really am. I didn't mean to hurt you or anything..." "Sometimes I wonder in situations like these who is truly hurt." He walked out, wondering what Mega Man's course of action would be for the time he never got. |

(...And this is why I don't like time-traveling characters. Most of the time, what they say makes no sense. Seriously, I barely followed that.) Unsurprisingly, most of the other Coda Robots had already gone away to a private room to discuss similar things. Heart-Man quickly found his way to this room, and drew the blinds as he shut the door behind him. "I'm afraid things have gone from bad to worse," he bluntly told his siblings, "and I'm sure you didn't think they could get worse. Well, they did. I'll explain more when everyone's here." After a relatively short wait for Fog-Woman and Blackout-Man to come running back to the base, Heart-Man elaborated on the existence of Malware--along with a few thoughts he had about them. "So, we know he probably doesn't want to replicate Roll--all she did was wield the blade. And we also know it would take at least two years to replicate Virus...so what confuses me the most about this is why they've been built. And, of course, Dr. Coda knows what side we're on...so we should be very scared of this Robot's strength, regardless of their attack method." "Well, with that out of the way, I assume we're all in agreement?" Heart-Man didn't even need to look at who was speaking. In many issues, at least one Coda Robot would play the devil's advocate, but no one would do that here. "Our goose is cooked if we don't do something to help the poor girl...not just from others." "Seconded. Her transformations are becoming a problem for others, and that problem is beginning to hurt us." "Please, anything to keep everyone from arguing and hating us! I don't like either of those things..." "Well, it's a good thing we don't need to argue about that, because we've got other things to discuss. And, brother Pyro-Man, people will always find some reason or another to hate us, but at least this'll clear the storm clouds of hatred for a while. And now, brothers and sister...how should we help Roll?" "I say we train her!" Poison-Man belted off almost immediately. "The sooner she gets a firm hold on those demons within her, the sooner this whole nightmare will be behind us." This caused many noddings in agreement, but like many issues, Heart-Man disagreed with his brother. "Recall Malware, dear brother. I'm not certain if we'd be strong enough to defeat her, and it would be better to be safe than sorry. Taming the demons with our help will give Roll only a fraction of their strength to command--we must let her wrestle with them herself." "But we can't just leave her out in the dark!" Tide-Man shouted. "If she doesn't know about this, the transformations will just keep happening, and that's a threat to all of us." "A valid point. We should at least educate her on just what the blade is doing to her. All in favor of this course of action, along with a few combat lessons?" "Right!" |

Naturally, Shorde was still asleep. His dream had changed focus from both topics to just metal armor--it was now his metal armor. Custom-constructed by his clanmates not long before The Blue One came, it was to be his armor as Sir Ariame. Of course, he never got the chance to fight with it on--he never even got the chance to wear it. Lotus and that wonderful armor. Two things I left behind...and two things I could use now more than ever, he thought to himself. As if the very thought of it could produce it, Lotus faded into his dream, and slipped into the hand of the armor. It slashed at him, but Shorde did not wake--he didn't even flinch. Because he knew he could trust those two things. --- "...And that's everything we can plan to teach her about. If we have extra time, we'll see if we can't get in a few practice rounds. All clear?" "All clear!" "Wonderful! I'll go tell the others about our plans. I'm sure a certain someone wants to hear about this a lot." While the other Coda Robots dispersed where they would be of assistance--Fog-Woman, Pyro-Man, and Blackout-Man took night watch, and the others scuffled off to some other location in the base--Heart-Man started a quick walk back to the infirmary. Not only was that where he was needed; he had some news to report, although he was unsure how the recipient would take it. As he opened the door, he was relatively surprised by how quiet the room was. Not that he should've been, but it was an odd change of pace from the slightly heated discussion with his brothers. Hoping he wasn't disturbing the quiet, he walked over to Mega Man's bed. Unsure if he was paying attention or even powered on, he started talking: "Well, we've made our decision. We'll explain to Roll what's been happening to her, and do some combat training as well. Hopefully, it'll work wonders for her self-confidence, making her more stable...either way, we'll probably need a full day alone--or at least as alone as you'd allow--to do everything we hope to. We'll start tomorrow if possible. I hope you can agree with this." Without waiting for a response, Heart-Man turned away from Mega Man and went back to work. Though it appeared someone had finished his work with Air-Man, there were still more than a few broken Second Rebellion Robots, so Heart-Man continued his work in silence. --- The Skull Castle was far from quiet, even though it was late at night. Metools and Joes of all attack methods skittered to and fro and every-which-way, taking orders, delivering messages, and being beamed in to assist some Robot Master or another. As the black-clad doctor walked down the hallway, he heard the rantings of a particularly angry Hothead about the sudden cut of the Second's signals. Coda couldn't help but smile. They wouldn't need them after he sent in his latest creation. Dr. Coda continued down the hallway to his private workshop--a room that he had only received after he had finally talked it into Wily to not waste all of his time building Robots together. Of course, the room didn't have nearly as much significance as what lay inside; Coda quietly entered the room. He glanced over at his desk, though he didn't need to see what lay there. He knew the Dark-Men had been in this room, and he had left out his creation's blueprints for them to see. No amount of forewarning could save them from her, after all. He knew the Dark-Men were spying for Dr. Light's side, and he could easily destroy them if he wanted--but he found striking fear into them amusing, and thus left them alone for the time being. Yes, there was no doubt they had seen the blueprints, and also no doubt they hadn't seen the real thing. More than just a few security features later, Coda stood over his creation--there, in a regeneration capsule, was Malware. She had come up with the name herself; Coda was so proud of her. Made from the remnants of Roll's hacked alter ego, she was certainly Coda's strongest creation. So far, though, she had been used only for theft; Coda sent her on basic missions to steal money and parts for Robots. He knew she would always serve him first, but he also knew that she burned with desire to draw her sword on someone--and it was time she got that chance. "Rise, dear Malware; I have a task for you." By voice recognition, the chamber emptied, allowing his creation to power on and listen to him. "Tonight is the night you get the task you've wanted for some time now--you shall be deployed to Mobius shortly after this briefing. Your task there should strike you as obvious. Your primary goal is to take your half of The Sword back from your other half by any means necessary. In addition, you are to assist your allies in crushing the resistance and driving everyone back to Monsteropolis. After Mobius falls, the city shall fall with it. "I feel I don't need to warn you, but be careful with how you use your blade. I am sure you are aware that you can pull it all out, but remember that this comes with all the weaknesses of a normal sword, and also recall how careful you must be when placing it back into your core--otherwise, you could suffer severe internal damage. Do not let your traitorous brothers sway you to their side; they are your enemies now and they must be stopped. Do not be afraid to call for your allies if you need to--I built you better than your siblings, but there are more of them. As usual, if you encounter any resistance from your task, slaughter them. Now, get up, and show me what you've learned out there." The glass pane of the regeneration capsule slowly slid open, allowing Malware to stand... |

Malware nodded with a grin. "Thank you, Master. I will go as soon as possible." She quickly walked out of the room. --- "For cripes sake, you still haven't reestablished communications with them?!" "Jeez, hotshot, I'm working on it! Most of them were cut at the same time except Heat Man's, but our comm system encountered a bug and we're trying to fix it..." "Listen, pal, you're the communication master, correct?" "Yeah, so?" "So you better get them back online, or you'll wish you'dve never been built!" "Is this a challenge I'm hearing? Just because I'm a special operations unit doesn't mean I'm not-" The Joe stopped. Turning around, he noticed Malware standing there, and cowered away. "I-I'll try to get t-them back online..." he said quickly to the Hothead, and scurried away. The Hothead also recognized her, and left immediately. Malware couldn't help but smile. She found it somewhat amusing to scare others. Nevertheless, she continued on to her destination- the teleporters. |

As Heart-Man started his repairs on Quick-Man, he wondered if Mega Man had even heard him. Even then, did he like what he heard? Heart-Man hadn't realized it at the time, but he sort of shared his feelings about what others thought of him. If everyone hated him, there was no way he would ever accomplish anything... --- Pyro-Man was just now getting away from the base. It was dark and he was so used to bright environments, but he dared not light a fire--not only would it waste fuel; he recalled that overuse of Fire Coat had done him in last time. Awake and alert and searching for allies and enemies alike, he didn't even see Dynamite-Woman until he walked directly into her. "Oh, my! I'm so sorry...are you alright?" Without even bothering to verify if they were ally or enemy, he extended a hand, and helped her up. "I'm...I'm looking for...well, I guess I'm looking for just about anyone. Which side are you on?" |

Mega Man, in fact, had not heard him. He was dozing away, though he had a frown on his face and shifted constantly. Obviously, he was having nightmares about whoever Malware was... and his sister. --- The Joe was silently cursing to himself. "Being afraid of a puny girl... What's your problem? That Hothead is a real fool trying to act like he's all tough. I'll show him... one day..." He walked into the communications center. He was tall Joe, with a white helmet and light blue striping around it. Wearing a headset, you might've mistaken him for a telephone operator, but he was in fact connected to every Wily force member. His body was light blue, as well as his ankle and wrist protectors, while his hands and feet were white. "What's the status on the 2nd Rebellion communicatons?" "Still nothing, sir." "Damnit! I'm not picking up a signal, either... Where are they?" "Wait! I've got a match on someone... but the signal is blocked by some sort of defense system." "Can you hack through it?" "I can try, but it's a slim chance I'll get past it." "Fine, hold off of it. At least we know one of them is still alive..." --- Dr. Light was worried to the bone. He had just recieved news from the chief surgeon that Mega Man might just be knocked out for a while. The savior of the world nearly 20 times over, and he's lying in a bed unable to help! "I knew I should've listened to him on the processor cable thing..." he muttered unhappily. He knew the operation took weeks to settle- and if it was bad, months. And, unfortuantely, it was bad. Light slumped back in his chair. "There's only one way he'll be able to get out quicker..." he deduced, and sprung up from the chair. Quickly going into his Robot Warehouse, so to speak, he grabbed Medic Man out of his capsule, shut him off, and implanted an exstensive knowledge of the newer processing system used by most robots, and how to take out the older one. He shut him back on, and adressed him sternly. "Medic Man, I've got an extremely important job for you. You most head down to Mobius and install the new processing system in him. Understood?" "Yes, sir!" "Good. Soon as that's done, you are allowed to either come back here, or stay and help fix the others." "Roger that, sir." "All right. Come with me." Light led him into the teleporter, and in a matter of seconds he appeared in the Light Base. --- Medic Man crossed his arms. "Hmmm. Not bad. I could work here." He stepped off the teleporter- -and in a moment of seconds, a trident was pointed at him. "State your buisness and affiliation!" Sonic Man said. "Oh, quiet, sonar brain! I'm here to fix Mega Man." Sonic Man's eyes narrowed, then he put the trident down. "Very well. Let me show you his location." They walked through the hallway, and into the medical bay. "Thanks," Medic Man muttered, wheeling Mega Man's bed away. "Outta the way! Important paitent coming through!" he shouted to some of the other robots. Mega Man groaned. "Where am I?" he asked. "You'll be in better shape in a few seconds," Medic Man said. "Sorry, Mega Man." "For what?" "This." He flung his hand right at his neck, knocking him out cold. "Let's get started," he said, closing the sheets behind him and throwing on a pair of gloves... |

(Aaaaand...cue Ballade walking straight into Malware!) Assuming that Mega Man was ignoring him, Heart-Man simply continued his work. Not that he could blame him--with all that he had put him through, he still had every reason in the world to hate him. He briefly looked up from his work when he heard an unfamiliar voice pierce the quiet of the infirmary--Medic-Man. But wasn't he still being fixed up? It was a bug in his personality, too, if Heart-Man recalled correctly...enough people hated him; the last thing people needed was another slightly psychotic medic. Silently muttering some words of care, he went back to working on Quick-Man's two boomerang shooters. --- Pyro-Man looked at the pair quizzically, unsure what to think. After a brief wrestle with himself, he decided to let them go--after all, they weren't shooting him, what was the harm? "Okay, well, you two have a nice night, I suppose." With that, he walked right past them, continuing his search for others. |

Medic Man worked intently, fixing every single detail and carefully removing the old processor cable system. Eventually, after about an hour or so, everything was fixed, with the new processor system installed. Medic Man banged his head. "Hey, knucklehead, wake up." Mega Man groaned again. "Ergh, what?" "Done. See you later." Medic Man walked off, leaving Mega Man staring into his chest. No more cables... Where were they? He took a glance inside a trash can next to him, and saw them sitting in the bottom. Picking it up, he walked over to Medic Man, an E-Tank in his hand. "Mind bringing this back to Dr. Light for me? Although it's old and clunky, I might need it as a replacement." Medic Man shurgged. "Whatever, kid. I'll fix it right up and have it waiting for you should you need it. Go get 'im, tiger." Mega Man walked out the room he was in, stared around as if trying to see if it was concrete, and walked out. --- "OK, guys, I think it's safe... Just need to get the 9th out of here. Let's go, quick!" The Dark Man started out with the last Rebellion. As they were being loaded in, Dark Man 2 looked behind him. Malware was standing in the doorway. "AGH! IT'S HER!" The group turned around, and it was a mad dash for the teleporters. The 9th escaped just in time as Malware made her approach torward the Dark Men. Dark Man 3 aimed his sniper rifle at her, and took a few shots, harmlessly absorbing into her armor. She aimed an upward slash at him, knocking him backwards, then stabbed right through the gem in his chest. His eyes flickered out, and he sagged to the ground. Dark Men 2 and 4 both put their shields up, and attempted to block her attacks. Dark Man 2 was tripped by her, and he was stabbed through the chest by Malware's blade. "So that's how you fight... Extending the blade through your body!" Dark Man 4 fired a few shots at her, which she deflected right back at him. He fell into the corner, and she twisted her blade through his beedy yellow eyes. Dark Man 1 panicked, and hopped into the teleporter. He appeared in a random location, babbling garble through his communicaton sensor to the Light Base. He started off as quick as possible torward it. |

Dr. Coda had just finished sealing up his workshop and was off to go manage a small fleet of Apache Joes, when he heard the screams from the teleporter room--with a voice like that, it could only be the Dark-Men. "Wonderful!" he said to no one, "she hasn't even left, and she's already murdered multiple -Men working for the other team. I'm so proud of her...it's only a shame I didn't think to find some way to watch her." Before he allowed himself to be distracted further, he quietly continued down the pathway to the Joes. --- Pyro-Man stopped when he heard about the twosome's dilemma. "Oh, you do? Well, assuming your friend is on our side, our new base iiis...that way." He turned and pointed towards the building he had left from. Heck, even if they aren't on our side and they go there, they'll be shot on sight. "You two have a nice evening, now!" With that, he continued his walk through the city, hoping to find something or someone. --- An hour was a lot of time for Heart-Man to work. By the time Medic-Man strode out again, he had nearly finished his work on Quick-Man, and he was about to reattach his boomerang headpiece and make the repair complete. That is, until a very strange garble came through the base's communicator. Not even noticing Mega Man in his newly repaired state, he rushed over to the communications terminal, and tried getting a video lock on the sudden contactor. "I can't help you if you don't speak coherently! What's your emergency?!" |
