"Oh, for the love of..." Shorde jumped on top of the block his sword was now frozen in, and stared at his two opponents. "Don't you have enough advantages already? Two against one, Robot against bio-form, and you have to disarm me too? Where's your sense of knightliness?"
Suddenly, Shorde cracked a smile, and folded his arms across his torso. "Fine, I see how it is. You have none. Very well, then...I'll just have to fight without that sword. Never was a fan of two-handers anyway. No...I guess I'll just have to take you out like The Blue One himself."
With a deep breath, Shorde suddenly jumped off of the ice block and gave it a mighty kick, sending it sliding relentlessly at Freeze-Man. With him temporarily incapacitated, he rolled up and jumped at Cloud-Man, hoping to score a hit on him from underneath.
---
With a hint of hesitation, Poison-Man handed Tide-Man the objects he'd requested. As soon as he had them in hand, he sat down against a wall and started writing on the back of the reprimand. Poison-Man sat down beside him, reading the letter as he wrote it.

"Dear Bright-Man:
It's amazing how you're able to crush hopes and dreams in the course of two minutes, then inform me about it so nonchalantly. I may have said nothing to you then, but you had better believe that I was angry.
I'm a frontline soldier. You know that. I'd rather participate in an unauthorized attack than spend a week in an office planning one that is. But, you have no idea how long I've been trying to get a better position--to get my voice to finally mean something.
Don't you dare lie to me. It's not a well-kept secret that we're hated, or that you wish we didn't exist, or that no one enjoys working with us. That's why I wanted the promotion--maybe if I had it, you would actually care about what I had to say.
You were warned. 'Coda Robots at Work: Disturb at Your Own Risk.' The injuries you sustained cannot be fully my fault, and yet that is exactly where the blame is placed. But, I digress--we Coda Robots, we can forgive. But we never forget. I'll remember this the next time you need my help.
Sincerely,
Dr. Coda Number 005, Tide-Man"

Tide-Man finished writing the letter, then quickly folded it up four times. "Poison-Man, go run this by the mail office. I've no desire to see that he receives it myself."
---
"Uuugh...what happened...?" Now that she had had a moment to rest, Roll was beginning to function. She looked around, surprised by the clarity of her vision--and Fog-Woman standing around so calmly.
Heart-Man walked over to her, and helped her stand. "Well, the fact that you're on the ground should tell you that you lost the match. Don't sweat it too much, though--Fog-Woman really is one of our toughest fighters. Now, are you ready to begin again, or do you still need rest?" After a brief thought, Roll told him that she wanted a few more minutes to rest.

A small robot walked into Bright Man's office, carrying the letter. "Thank you," he said quietly as he walked off.

After reading the note, Bright Man's eyes narrowed and a scowl crossed his face. Picking up his pen, he grabbed another sheet and began to write.

"I apologize how I managed to not see any sign. I'm sorry it was it my fault that my arm was crushed by idiocy on your part. And forgive me for administrating rather mild punishment the board of generals approved.

Is this what you want? For me to take them blame for a mistake you made? That hardly seems fair. The decision to keep you off wasn't unanimous- it was a two to three decision. I bet you could guess what side I was on.

Think of what you could've done in the brief moments of time that event took place. What you should have done is inform me calmly that Mega Man did authorize the training, and that was that. Do you think anyone would've cared about what your brother said about pounding me? You could have said you didn't want any interference with the training and it would be best to leave. If I raised my voice in protest, that would be my fault.

What you did do is meet me with force and inflicted injury to cover up a secret that I, along with the whole board, should've known. Not only is your reputation in question, the board is looking into an investigation of all of your siblings' 'personal endeavors' while in this army- which includes training a soldier without reliable information of authorization. Should Mega Man come around and say otherwise, then the investigation would close and your siblings are guilt-free. Should that not happen, if you think you are hated now, distrust will mount even more, digging your hole even deeper than it is.

And, if you really want this position, you might be in luck. My 'sister'- Kalinka to you- has been involved in a catastrophic car crash, and is speculated to die. If she does, I will definetely resign out off grief and anguish and you will most likely get the spot seeing as though my influence would be gone. I guess you could say it's a 'win-win'- you get general status, and as an added bonus, you get to see the person who initially denied it to you suffer from nearly unspeakable sadness.

Fun, isn't it.

For now, you can go ask Mega Water S. how he enjoys your seat.

Bright Man
Second-In-Command Dr. Light's Forces"

A tear stained the bottom of the paper. Cursing, Bright Man tried to rub it out, but was unsuccessful. He shook his head, folded the paper, and called for the messanger robot. "Give this to Tide Man... and tell him my hand is starting to cramp." The robot laughed, and walked off.

Bright Man only hung his head.
---
Freeze Man jumped over the block, which shattered and broke the sword free. Cloud Man wasn't as fast though, and he slammed against a container.

"Ough... Mega Man never did that..." Cloud Man muttered. "He's talking about that... err... Sonic person, I think," Freeze Man said, distraught. Cloud Man picked himself back up, and launched a Thunder Bolt at the free-falling Shorde.

Tide-Man received the note and the message quietly. He sat down in the corner of the room, reading it quietly. For a brief moment, his text-following finger stopped on a wet spot on the paper near the signature. Bright-Man wasn't the type who would drink oil at his work desk, and Heart-Man had patched him up really well. Probably crying about something or another, but definitely not about this. When he was finished, he gripped the paper tightly and tore it in half, greatly shocking Poison-Man. "Brother, what are you doing? Aren't you going to reply?"
"His arm is getting tired from writing; he should save it for sketching battle plans. Besides, I've got better things to do with my time than argue with those half-wit Soviet Russians that still think the motherland is superior. Now if you'll excuse me, I need to go vent by doing something. It'll probably be incredibly stupid." Poison-Man desperately wanted to follow him, but he didn't--no one did. It was likely he could take care of himself.

With Tide-Man's angry storm-off completed, the Coda Robots were now ready to resume their training. "Well, Roll, are you ready?" Asked Shard-Man from the corner of the room. "We've gotta get this show on the road after that delay."
Roll drew her sword without hesitation. "Yeah, I am. Are you?"
Shard-Man laughed a little, seemingly pleased with her sudden change in behavior. "Always." He slowly got to his feet, tearing a handful of crystallized metal from his leg. "No more breaks, you got that? Wihtout further delay, let's continue to my lesson--enemies that attack from all sides, and enemies with heavy armor. Begin!" he shouted suddenly, and chucked the hunk of metal straight at Roll.
---
That Sonic person. The word echoed throughout Shorde's entire body, shattering images and revealing clearer ones behind them. The carefree, cocky attitude...the running shoes...the innate ability to run faster than anyone in the Mobian army...it all made sense now. Shorde uncurled from his ball form, staring at the Robots with wide eyes. "You...you know him?!"
That was a mistake. Uncurling at that moment caused Cloud-Man's Thunder Bolt to be the next thing darting around Shorde's body. For the first time in the war, he landed on not his feet, but his side, and both of his opponents could see smoke coming off of him. For a brief moment, he struggled to get to his feet, but he found his way, and when he did, he revved up and launched a Spin-Dash at Freeze-Man.

Freeze Man slid under it. "Uh, somewhat. We recieved a training simulator that we practiced against using him as a base. Blue, really fast, cocky... Sound anything like what you're thinking about?"

"Oh, for the love of- we don't have time to talk! Aren't we supposed to fight?" Cloud Man countered.
---
"Goddamnit, I meant that remark as a joke!" Bright Man was furious with the robot. "You actually told him? Nrgh... just, just go. I must be left alone."

Now he was locked in an internal struggle with Tide Man. He was unsure on how to stop the situation... Writing another letter if he recieved one back would be an awful idea, as evident by the large footsteps echoing from the training area. He was becoming incredibly stressed. Bad news of their progress in the war, hearing about Kalinka, and now this?

He took a long, deep breath and wondered about his next course of action. He decided to sort out the papers yet again that were lying around on his desk... one of which was Shorde's registration form. He looked over it, was satisfied, and signed APPROVED onto it. "Excuse me," he said, calling for the robot messanger. "Give this to... a Shorde Arimae? He's the purple Mobian walking around, I think... When you see him, give this to him."

After that was done, he sorted out other papers lying around.

(How many generals does it take to sign off an enlistment sheet? Both Bright and Dive have signed it now...)

"Didn't want a freaking reply to the letter anyway...tired of all this hate..."
Muttering this and a few other phrases and obscenities to himself, Tide-Man left the base and went for a walk. Despite his full water tank, it was probably foolish of him to go out without any rockets. As he neared the no-man's-land of town, he punched a hole in the wall of a building.
I can't believe they'd toss me away like garbage for such a stupid accident! I'll show them, I'll show them all... With his aggressive mood persisting, Tide-Man continued towards what he could only guess was a significant enemy establishment.
---
"I don't know, I thought you were enjoying the conversation!" He may have missed his target, but that wasn't his only objective--as he rocketed past Freeze-Man, Shorde jumped up out of his ball form, and grabbed his sword. Without bothering to resume his "normal" fighting style, he tossed it up at Cloud-Man, and aimed another kick at Freeze-Man. "Who gave you this simulator?!"

Freeze Man slid under the kick. "Easy, hotshot! Do you think we'll be able to info if you're kicking us in our faces?"

Cloud Man dodged the attack aimed at him. "Who cares about all this talk? We're supposed to do either or, not both!"
---
Malware pulled into the ice plant, furious with rage. She went off to somewhere she hoped robots were.
---
A large, bulky, brown robot heard a giant 'smash' sound. "What was that?" he said aloud to no one in paticular. As he rounded the corner, he noticed Tide Man coming straight torwards him. "Uh, umm... Wha-what are you doing here? This is Wily's territory... You aren't allowed!"

The robot faltered as he noticed it was Tide Man- the one with rockets. Then he noticed he was all out. "Oh, you only have water? Well, you just made my job a lot easier. You better turn back, or... uh... Or I'll... hmmm... pound you into this road... Uh... Yeah." The robot was still nervous- this bot was bound to be strong. He hoped he could win. Stone Man cracked his knuckles, and took up a defensive stance.
---
Medic Man had already finished Gust Man. He had sent him on his way, and called for the next paitent. After no answer, he looked around. No one was inside except for a badly burnt Wood Man and a drowned Metal Man.

And Bubble Man.

He looked over him. "Nothing broken... What's wrong with you kid?"

No response.

"Hey. You. I'm talking."

Still nothing.

"Hey! Idiot! Wake up!" He banged him on the head.

He only blinked.

Medic Man flipped him over, and checked his internal systems. He flinched at what he saw- acid had eaten away much of his processing system. He closed it, and picked him up, setting him on a table. "Time to get to work..." he muttered silently, grabbing an instrument and revving it up...

Shorde glanced up at the fat Robot, looking comfortable on top of his cloud. "Fine, then. You are Robots, after all--I'm sure there's some way to extract the knowledge from your head." With that, he performed a backflip, aimed a quick kick at Freeze-Man's head as he jumped over him, then reached up and caught his sword in midair. As he landed, he charged Freeze-Man for a flurry of slashes--hopefully, he was still dazed from the kick.
---
"No duh, I'm not allowed, brickhead." Tide-Man calmly regarded Stone-Man, then twisted and cracked his neck. "I'm trespassing because I'm pissed and I want to fight someone. But I think I'll seek a higher bounty than you--after all, you can't hit the broad side of a barn with your Power Stone. Now vacate my path, or you'll be rubble."

Stone Man wanted to back off. He had some brains- he'd better leave.

But when the Power Stone was mentioned, he clenched his fists. "H-hey! That's a lie! The Power Stone is incredibly strong and accurate in the hands of a master... And you're looking at one! Why, I bet I could pound your puny head into your body... Probably... After all, it's those rockets that keep you up against opponents, and you don't got any now! I'll make sure to make this painful, because there's no way you're getting General Magic Man!" He then shut his mouth. "...Oops..."
---
Freeze Man was caught head on in the chin, and he flew backwards. The kick was a bit too hard, as he managed to miss most of the slashes (he was stabbed in the foot twice).

"Ow! All right, all right, it was from Dr. Wily. He's our creator, you know? I doubt it's anyone you kn-"

"Wait... Did you hear that?" Cloud Man cut in. "It sounded like a jet pulling in..."

"Yeah, and I hear footsteps," Freeze Man added. Indeed, footsteps echoed throughout the small building, and they belonged to a sleek, purple figure ready to kill anyone in her path- even her pathetic allies...
---
"Just a bit of rewiring there, and... done. Huh. Pretty easy, actually."

Medic Man wiped his brow and checked the clock. An hour. He really was a world-class surgeon.

He booted the green robot up. The figure opened his eyes, and he looked around. "Ouch... I have an awful headache..."

"Don't worry, you'll be fine in a bit, kid. I'm a surgeon, I know it when I say it."

"What happened?"

"Acid Man melted nearly all of your systems. Quick check- what's today?"

"Uh... Looks like it's... April 14th, 20XX."

"Huh. Really? Boy, we've been behind on our holidays. We just missed Easter. Your name?"

"Bubble Man, duh."

"Do you like Roll?"

"Uh... Little personal."

"Mark that as yes-"

"Hey, hey, hey, cut it out! Don't write that!" Bubble Man tried to grab the notepad, but he wasn't fast enough. "Don't write that, please? It'll be extremely embarrasing if she finds out..."

"Whatever, kid. I keep it in my medical files. She'll never find out. In the meantime, go find one of your brothers. Crash Man is over in the warehouse sector."

"Uh... all right." He got off the table and walked off, while Medic Man busily started to repair Wood Man.

"The fucking Generals!" Tide-Man punched another hole in an unfortunate building's wall. "I hope I never have to deal with another one of them! They think they're so great..."
Tide-Man then looked back at Stone-Man, and remembered who he was talking to. "Maybe I should go after him, but he is rather tricky...I might not be able to keep up with him. But, I guess I could try...but for the meantime, you're in my way. I shouldn't need any rockets to take you down, though...heck, I probably won't need any water. You may consider it embarrassing, but I consider it not being wasteful." Suddenly, Tide-Man put his fists up in a fighting stance, and glared at Stone-Man. "So, are you going to let me pass or no?"
---
"Indeed, I can hear them too." Shorde's perky ears were every bit as sensitive as they looked, and he too could hear the footsteps. "So, what do you say we wrap this up?" As he tossed his sword up at Cloud-Man again, he spoke a word of kindness to his opponents: "Since you two appear to be the scoundrel type, I'll give you one chance to run...but that's it!"

Freeze Man nodded, and he and Cloud Man went off. Suddenly, they came running back, Freeze Man bleeding from one of his wrist protectors. "There's a rogue bot back there! She tried to kill us!" Cloud Man shrieked.

Then, the footsteps rounded the corner, and Malware appeared. "Well, well, well, if it isn't Mr. Freeze Head. Who's your friend with the sword, hmm? A Mobian?"

"Friend? He's part of Light's forces, he's not a friend! What's more important is, why did you attacked us?!"

"Shut up! It's time for you to be destroyed- all three of you!" She rushed at Freeze Man, who put up his wrists for self-defense.
---
"The generals are smart, toilethead! That's why they were appointed in the first place! I'm suprised someone like you doesn't know that!"

"I think it's time I knocked some sense into you... Power Stone!" At this, a giant rocky hand rose up out of the ground. Stone Man pushed it torwards Tide Man, and jumped into the air.
---
Bubble Man had wandered out of the Light Base. He was lost, to say the least. Not really anywhere to go, unaware of the locations of his brothers, he decided it best to head over to General Magic Man's troop. He headed off to their quickest route.

"That's a new trick," Tide-Man muttered to himself, staring dumbfoundedly at the giant open hand. He took a brief moment to think--he was, in fact, battling an opponent quite like himself. Both he and his opponent had heavy armor, above-average melee strength, and very strong legs; their only difference was their weaponry and their material. Stone-Man was built like a brick wall, so he had fewer defensive qualities than Tide-Man's metal exterior, but that also meant he wasn't as heavy, and could therefore take strong leaps and bounds.
With his own weight in mind, Tide-Man knew he wouldn't be able to dodge the hand in time, so he only had one other option. He slowly raised his left leg, and kicked at the giant hand. Wanting to stay true to his melee-only claim, Tide-Man hoped this would make it fall apart.
---
Shorde caught his sword as it fell, a smirk on his face. "I thought they'd run."
His smirk fell apart when he saw the new attacker. Shorde stepped to the side for the moment, carefully watching this "rouge Robot's" every move. Why do I get the feeling I've seen her before? Because I know I haven't...that flowing hair, that nondiscriminatory aggression...I know her, and yet, I don't. How strange.

Time's up.

The ramp lowered. Eggman was suddenly rather silent.

Curiously, Vestra was nowhere to be seen.

Rythem and his bots, curiously, were also missing.

Vestra had a little trick up her sleeve. She had her own agenda.

Ballade started following Malware. "Hmph! I never even got a thank you for saving her butt!!" Ballade shouted. He ran farther, seeing Mslware on her jet-platform. "No fair. How am I supposed to follow her if I can't travel by air, soon enough she'll be too far off to spot and follow." Ballade thought.

For the third time this match, Roll was hit in the back with a shard of Shard-Man's armor. Her armor kept her from feeling any pain, but the knockback (Or rather, knock-forward) was unbearable. She felt like such a ragdoll, constantly being tossed around by his attacks from all angles. Meanwhile, Shard-Man stood a good distance from her, holding out his arms in an invite--no, a challenge--for Roll to come get him. With all the crystallized metal that was ricocheting around the room, he was almost completely vulnerable, his skeletal chassis easily visible.
Roll ran forward, hoping for a heavy slash that would win her the match. At the very last moment, however, a stray shard came towards her and cut the side of her face, and the surprise was enough to keep her from swinging. Shard-Man kicked at her, sending her to the ground, and his crystal armor reformed around him. "So close, Roll, but you need to be faster! If you're slow, you won't be able to hit anyone!"
That wasn't the smartest choice of words. Roll suddenly jumped to her feet, and wiped the droplets of oil coming from her cut. "I'll show you who's slow," she growled, and charged straight at Shard-Man. In an attempt to deter her, he generated two glass orbs and tossed them at her, but it was useless--the knock-back Roll usually received from such an attack had vanished. With a shout, Roll continued to charge, then whipped her blade around and stabbed Shard-Man in the gut.

Shard-Man became dizzy as oil poured out to fill his wound. "Well, that's...one way to defeat an opponent with heavy armor," he mused, and turned his attention to Roll. He could tell she wasn't nearly as calm as he was. She could have been on the verge of a transformation...now that would get us in trouble for sure. "Roll, before we keep training, I want you to try and calm down. A move like that could save you on the battlefield, but this is just training! Alright? Alright."
Roll did not respond.
As Shard-Man walked over to let Heart-Man patch up his injury, Roll quietly cleaned the oil off of Virus, a little ashamed for being so aggressive but also proud for delivering such a staggering blow. About half a minute later, Wire-Man walked over from the group of Coda siblings. "It is my turn to battle you. You handled those shards nicely at the end, but my attacks won't be so kind to you." With a friendly smile, he held his Cable Whips together, generating sparks with them. "Begin!"

Suprisingly enough, most of the shock of the rush Malware put on Freeze Man was absorbed by his wrist protectors. He still staggered backwards, bleeding badly from the blow. "Agh... what do we do now?" he asked in exasperation. "Is there anyway we can help?" Cloud Man asked Shorde.

Malware only smirked. "You're just delaying the inevitable, idiots... I'm going to turn you into mincemeat." She flashed her arms into blades.
---
Snake Man, Crash Man and Drill Man had resumed their regular perch just in time to see the decimating blow Roll delivered. "Whoa... did you see that? Her- She- her eyes, they were-" Crash Man started.

"Glowing red. Just like Mega when he's losing control..." Snake Man commented. "Something tells me she's starting to control whatever programming was installed. Of course, that may not be true..."

"Well, you can talk about it later. Next fight is starting," Drill Man said. The three of them looked on in excitement knowing that the battles were winding down, and apprehension if it was possible that she might go beserk...
---
Mega Man was looking at the situation in front of him in despair. Hyper Storm H. was worn out, and he, Mega Water, and Buster Rod were unable to get close. "Hold on a sec, guys. This calls for drastic measures." His armor changed to an orange and red color, and he started to charge.

"Mega Man! That might-"

"I don't care. Hyper Storm H. is in danger, this will solve it well enough..."

"But Roll-"

"Shut up about Roll! She'll never find out. I'm focusing on the safety of you guys first."

"Mega Man... Your eyes are-"

"SHUT UP!" Mega Man cocked his buster torward the hulking ice robot, a full charge ready to release. He pointed torward the head, and fired.

Frost Man screamed out in pain, and slowly began to melt, showing a weak skeletal structure inside. The metal inside bended and melted with the extreme temperatures, and all that was left was a pile of mush and circuits. Mega Man, suprisingly to the others, did not bat an eyelash at the gruesome scene. "We're leaving." He stomped out of the factory, not waiting for the others to follow.

"Something is greatly disturbing Rock," Mega Water S. commented.

"Agreed. I fear this will be most troubling for him," Buster Rod G. added. "His peace is shattered and his aggression is slowly rising... This must be stopped. Or else, he might cause harm to those he fights... and those he loves."

"We must go, brothers. Come on," Hyper Storm H. said. They spawned their own Item 2s, and left.

(Boo. I'm alive.)

(> Indicator of lost control
> "I think she's starting to control it"
Waht.)

Luckily, Tide-Man's strength was enough--his leg went right through the giant hand, and dust and brick scattered from the impact point. Using the cloud as cover, Tide-Man charged from the hole he'd kicked through the hand, raising his own fist for a strong punch. "My turn!" he shouted suddenly as he drew closer, and swung his fist at Stone-Man.
---
Roll started off with some impressive footwork that let her dodge Wire-Man's sparks and Cable Whips, but with each move she made, she found that Wire-Man had put more distance between himself and her--and he could still barrage her with his whips. His emotionless tone, instead of being reassuring, was somehow more annoying than the typical cocky banter. "Are you finding it difficult to get close?"
"Like you wouldn't believe!" Roll shouted back, clutching Virus tightly. Hoping that it wouldn't earn comments similar to her brutal assault on Shard-Man, she thought up a plan. The next time Wire-Man swiped at her, she swiped back--and neatly sliced off a small segment of the bright red cable on his left "arm." Instead of showing fear, though, Wire-Man maintained his friendly smile. "That is precisely what I wanted you to think of," he said as he moved in with his other Cable Whip, this one sparking with electricity.
---
Shorde put a hand to his chin, thinking very hard now. He barely even noticed Freeze-Man barely surviving the Robot's onslaught, and he did not respond to Cloud-Man's question. He searched through everything that had happened since he rolled down the mountain on Angel Island to talk with Ballade, searching for where he could have seen her before...
Suddenly, Roll's little outburst at the train wreck came back to him, along with Heart-Man's speech about Virus...which, now that he thought about it, kind of looked like the blade protruding from this young woman's hands. Shorde finally raised his head, and looked straight at Malware, and spoke: "You wouldn't happen to know Roll, would you?"

(Iunno, I haven't done this in a while :^.)

"Forgot about me up here, huh!?" Stone Man shouted from above. He smashed all of his weight down onto the briefly incapacitated Tide Man, and he took another small jump forward off of him. "Melee-only, pal? Maybe you should eat those words!"
---
Malware laughed. "I'm not tied to the girl in any way, except for me to destroy her. I know nothing of a train wreck, either. You're looking at the brand-new Coda robot, Malware. Take it all in, you won't be seeing it again once I'm finished with you," she replied threateningly, brandishing her sword hands.
---
"Ahh... She's formulating a plan with those whips of his. What a smart girl," Crash Man commented.

"What, her? Looks sloppy."

The robots turned around, and saw Shadow Man leaning against the wall. "She's raw. I'm suprised she's even managed to hold off those robots' attacks... which shows you how lousy Coda was with their programming. Should've just stayed at home," he commented flatly. When the others stared at him, he rolled his eyes. "Fine, let me rephrase that. She's learning fast, but it's never going to do any good against the battle-hardened Wily forces. She's going to have to train with Robots who actually have legitimate battle experience, not some fresh-out-of-the-oven robots who think they're better than us in everything. The only exceptions of which is Tide Man, who is an extremely bright and understanding indiviual even if he's off on a temper tantrum now, and Wire Man, who's so flat-out boring that he's efficient and dependable. If they could get people like Bright Man or Sword Man to help, she'd really learn from the pros. She's only wasting her time with these cretins."

The whole time, the crackle of electric whips deafened the sound of his controversial views. "Take it or leave it, it's just my opinion," Shadow Man said as he left the robots staring at each other in shock.

Due to a slowed reaction, Wire-Man's attack did connect--and unfortunately for Roll, it was one of the strong ones. Electricity coursed throughout her, causing a great deal of pain. Though the pain was unbelievable compared to the other attacks, she knew the importance of staying on her feet by now--and when she fell, she kept herself up with one arm. Eventually standing again, she swiped at the dark blue Cable Whip--but this time, Wire-Man was able to dodge in time.

As the battle between the two continued, Heart-Man had finished his repairs and was now staring out the window on the other side of the room, watching the Robots watching the training. He couldn't hear what they were saying, but knowing their collective reputations, he could guess it wasn't good. Probably criticizing our methods, he thought to himself.
It was only then that he noticed Blackout-Man beside him. He had been awfully quiet this whole time, not commenting on Roll's progress, the Robots watching her--he hadn't even batted an eyelash when Tide-Man indirectly broke Bright-Man's arm. And, of course, now he suddenly spoke. "I don't suppose you think we're going about this the wrong way, do you? I mean, it's great that we're teaching her duelist's tactics and preparing her for any sort of opponent...but if you look at it, the chances of a one-on-one battle are incredibly low. Maybe we should be preparing her for every opponent instead of any?"
Heart-Man didn't reply initially, but as he continued to watch the spectators, he got an idea. "I know exactly what you're talking about--and that also gives me an idea. Go gather up Roll's fan club." Blackout-Man nodded (He didn't care about missing his turn anyway), and promptly left the room and circled around to the window.
---
"Oh, really? Shorde raised an eyebrow. Unbeknownst to him, this "Malware" shared her ego with the other Coda Robots when they still worked for him. Carefully gripping his sword in both hands, he got ready to fight. "Maybe you haven't looked in a mirror lately, because the similarities don't end there--and we'll see who will leave this place alive!" With a brief turn to Cloud-Man, he uttered one word; "run."
"You know, I didn't see you in my database," Shorde mused aloud as he looked into Malware's hateful eyes. "You must be new here--so allow me to be your welcome wagon. I may be a bio-form, but I've beaten Robots much bigger than you--so bring it!" With a few quick motions with his wrist, Shorde threw his sword at Malware, then Spin-Dashed under it for another attack.
---
As Tide-Man's punch connected with thin air, he looked up, confused. All he could say was "oh, yeah," before Stone-Man crashed into him. The force of the blunt damage was only enough to leave a small dent, but it was more than enough to knock the wind out of him. Shaking his head to get reoriented, Tide-Man slowly got to his feet. "What? Is that all you got?" He motioned at Stone-Man; an invitation for them to rush him.

(Remember that Shadow Man was initially made by Wily and not Light. Also, he's quite a cynical robot.)

"Shadow Man... I thought you-"

"Thought what? That I cared about her? I'm beginning to question that. I'm no Light Robot. I'm a Wily Bot. Everybody knows it, unless you're being completely oblivious to obvious facts. She's not unbearable, but she should've left the fighting for those who were up for it. And the robots down there thought they were so great after remotely hurting Mega Man... They should talk to the Stardroids or King. They managed to crush him into the ground, yet he forgave them after they were beaten by him... Strangely, there is still amnosity between the two groups even though they have apologized. Why do you think that's so, you three? Why is there so much hate between us all?"

When they failed to give an answer, Shadow Man replied vehemently, "Because of her, you dolts! She is the cornerstone of this bitter struggle. It's because sweet and innocent Roll was involved in a plan for world domination, and then she thought she could run with the big dogs, protecting the Earth! It was too much for all of us, and instead of blaming the man, we blamed the man's tools. And then we managed to fall into quicksand, where they slowly distrusted us. They became unbearable, we became cynical. And until we see Roll's improvement, we'll hate those bots with all of our circuits. I'm dissapointed no one else has seen that. Now leave me be. I'm off to go practice my shuriken throwing." Shadow Man stomped away.

As they stood there, they heard footsteps coming up the stairs.
---
Stone Man paused. He knew it would be foolish to charge right in front of him, so he formulated a plan. "I think I'll stick for more indirect attacks," he said calmly. He heaved out a giant rock from the ground, and hurled at his opponent. As it was flying, he formed a giant brick wall and pushed it forward, much in the same fashion as Ice Wall.
---
Cloud Man hurried over to Freeze Man, and he supported his weight as they escaped.

Malware fended off the weak blow with ease, quickly side-stepping Shorde's spin dash. "I don't have time for furbags like you! I want to know where Mega Man is!" she shouted, aiming a slice torward him.
---
Mega Man continued to race through the city, still festering in anger. He was beginning to feel great remorse at his act torward Frost Man. He was slowly slipping through a dark abyss of despair and rage, all because of his little sister. Was he really that scared of losing his job? Was he really that angry that she had been thrust into this by an evil man?

Or was he continually blaming himself? He was the one who allowed the virus to infect Roll, after all. He was the one who let her wear his armor with such drastic consequences. And she was here because of him.

Finally, the pain came bursting out. Mega Man lost his footing on his Item 2, and he crashed down on the road, sobbing. Buster Rod G. and the others were on him immediately, reassuring him, comforting him, and supporting him. Hyper Storm H. picked him up, and he gently held him the whole way back to base.
