"No, let me walk you in. They'd never accept you if I wasn't around," he said.

As he opened the door, he was greeted by a skinny, bald man in his late twenties, a smile across his face. "Yo, Crash Man! Nice to see you again- and it looks like you brought a girlfriend, too!" Crash Man laughed at the remark. "Nah, Jerry, we're just friends. She got nicked up in a fight- I was just bringing her in for some repairs. Her creator is a bit tied up at the moment- you don't mind, do you?"

"Hah, no problem! Step right this way, young lady, I'll have you fixed up in no time. Say, how's that whole war thing going on? It's been all over the news that it keeps rocking back and forth- any word on who's pushing ahead?" Crash Man shook his head. "Nope, still pretty evenly matched. Except apparently they lost Bright Man as a general."

As Jerry put Roll on the operating table, he looked confused. "Really- oh, right. His sister. Pretty interesting stuff they're digging up from that, you know- apparently it wasn't an accident."

"You mean it was planned?" Crash Man said in disbelief. "Only rumors. There are some pretty strong believers of it, though..." Crash Man shrugged. "I doubt there would be anyone actively targeting her, though. Oh, shoot, I gotta go. See you around, Jerry- and later, Roll." He walked out of the building.

Jerry looked over the girl robot in front of him. "Well, this won't be too hard to fix, m'am, but I would suggest you power off- it'd save your battery life, and I don't think you're too akin to seeing your own insides," he remarked jokingly.

(And here marks the post where I stop being Roll. Until more interaction is absolutely necessary, I'm going to stop using her after this post.)

Roll could see why this place wasn't the first choice for repairs--it definitely had a backwater, shifty look about it. At the moment, however, that was the last thing on her mind--all she wanted to do was get repaired and go back to her normal life, or at least what was as close as possible. The only thing she said was "okay," and then her eyes went blank.

Wire-Man was now about halfway through the gray area in the middle of the city, and he had spotted several of his brethren. He now was debating striving from his initial mission to see just how far back into Dr. Wily's territory he could get before someone noticed him. He dismissed the thought, as there didn't seem to be much he would accomplish from it, and continued his rooftop search for Magic-Man.
Suddenly, the thought crossed his mind that Magic-Man could be indoors, and therefore he would never spot him. He considered jumping down and performing a ground search, but this too he dismissed--even if he didn't find Magic-Man, he would then be behind him, which would give him a strategic advantage. Hence, he continued his linear jumping pattern, occasionally stopping to make sure that the General wasn't walking right past him.

(Ok. Time for me to get back in here..)

Aaron had finally reached the core of the Nega Base. Now all he had to do was to destroy it, and........

"AIGH!!!!"

Aaron was blasted off his feet by a Nega fireball. The sorce of the fireball was A darker looking Aaron Kunai, stading in the rafters. He grinned as he jumped down from the rafters, charging another fireball.

Aaron got up, and dodged his nega twin's fireball.
"I wasn't expecting guests," Nega said. "Don't you ever knock, light-boy?"
"Not if i'm trying to destroy this place," Aaron growled, Summoning His sword of Awesomeness. This was it. The battle he had been waiting for....

However, a bolt of lightning struck between the two, followed by more lightining. Then it was ALL around the two combatants. It was forming some kind of a portal.

And it was sucking in both Aaron and Nega!!!!!!
(Will get into the story next post.)

ProtoMan used Shorde's coordinates from his last transmission t get to the Light Base. "Ever since my argument with DiveMan, I never thought I'd come back here." ProtoMan thought. He casually walked into the front door.

(Oh, so Aaron and co. get sucked in from yet another world? Interesting.)

It didn't take long before Shorde was tired of laying around. Eventually, he found his feet without use of his arms, and began to walk out of the infirmary. When a medical unit--nobody important, just a Picketman--tried to stop him, he didn't take them very seriously. "I've got casts, and therefore I'll be fine. I'll take it easy, but I'm not going to lounge around for hours and do nothing to help you gents fight."
Without waiting to see if that answer would satisfy, Shorde walked out into the lobby to see Proto Man coming in. "Hey, Proto, good to see ya again. I'm glad to see everything went well with Vestra...I figured we were going to hell when I called her a crazy bitch. Well, what brings you back to good-guy HQ? I know you don't know this place as well as The Dark One, but I figured you'd be hunting for Chaos Emeralds with him..."

Time's up.

Vestra began to talk to herself.

Vestra: Hrm... It's probably for the best I let them get the chaos emeralds, they'll do my work for me. And I know how to deal with them after they go super, if they choose to go after me. Eggman may be a fool, but he does have some good ideas. In any case, I believe it would be best to keep an eye on them, make sure they don't get destracted. I'll need a sentry- Ah, right. I built one already, silly me. Man, I could go for a doughnut right now. I haven't played any boardgames for a while now. What was I talking about? Ah, right. Tails Doll!

She snapped her fingers, and a life-sized Tails plush, hovering half a foot off the ground, with its red gem glowing, silently hovered over to her.

Vestra: Find Shorde. Keep an eye on him, m'kay?

The doll just stared at her, then teleported away.

Vestra: ...Why do people find that guy creepy again? He's just so cuuuute! Geez, I turned into my sister for a second there...

And Vestra went off on a tangent like always.

Tails Doll reappeared near Shorde.

"Well, I need to get re outfitted so I can run off of Chaos Energy, as well as nuclear power. But we must go to Eggman for that, and I can't go alone, or he might reprogram me during the procedure. So Shadow wanted me to wait until he got the first Chaos Emerald, by the way I wanted to see if.......um, I think my receptors are screwy, but I think I see a two tailed yellow fox plush flying."

"Good idea, and probably the safest one you could make." Shorde tilted his head to one side, cracking his neck. "We'll probably have to wait until we've got a real Chaos Emerald to go off of, but there's a chance that Eggman has an Emerald Decoy laying around." When Proto Man regarded him quizzically, Shorde quickly explained. "The Blacksmith, one of Sonic's close friends, built a fake Chaos Emerald once. It gives off the same radio signature as the real deal, but if someone tries to harness its Chaos Energy, it's primed to explode. It should work fine for our purposes."
"Now, what was that about a two-tailed yellow...?" Shorde spun around looking for the thing in question, and soon found himself gazing into the eyes of the plush. Through its eyes, he saw horrible things--a warped, darker version of Mobius; demons of unspeakable evil roaming the land; the sight of dead Mobians, dead Mobians everywhere.
Shorde shivered at the whole display. It took him a great deal of effort, but somehow he broke eye contact with the doll and examined its other features. "Why, it's...it's like a stuffed animal version of The Blacksmith. I'm not sure where it came from, but it's giving me the creeps," he added, not going into detail. When the doll failed to speak or act, he returned to the task at hand. "Come on, let's go to Dr. Eggman's carrier. I've no doubt that's where he is."

(Oh, so Aaron and co. get sucked in from yet another world? Interesting.)

(Yep, You got it.)

Everything went dark. Aaron was lying face down on what appeared to be a concrete sidewalk (Ouch.) He slowly got up, and let his senses return to him.

He was standing in what appeared to be a city. A city..filled with robots. This was all too strange. Too strange for him to comprehend. He looked around, and started to walk around this new world. All of a sudden, he heard a familiar voice;

"GET AWAY FROM ME, YOU METAL FREAKS!!!! HELP!!!!!"
Aaron rushed to the scene. A couple of robots that had swords for hands were accosting a girl.

A girl with a green hooded sweatshirt on....

"HEY!!!" Aaron shouted to the girl's assailants. "LEAVE HER ALONE!!!"

One of the 'bots turned. "Hey sharpe, There's another one of them meat suits."
The 'bot named Sharpe turned to his comrade. "Well, it looks like you're right slice. Whatever these...things are, I'm sure we can use them to sharpen our skills!!"

The 'bot named Slice laughed. "Well, let's do that right now!!! Starting with the new meat suit!!!!"

The two Blade Man-esque 'bots charged Aaron.

BATTLE START!!!!!
Aaron: 70 HP
Sharpe: 50 HP
Slice: 50 HP

Slice Attacks!!!!
Slice Jumped high into the air, and tried to bring both his blades down on Aaron. Aaron dodged out of the way, and what resulted was that Slice's blades got stuck in the concrete sidewalk, due to all the force that he used.

Slice's attack missed!!!!
Slice is Stunned!!!

Sharpe Attacks!!!!
Sharpe Then charged at Aaron, and tried to slice him horizontally with one blade, while trying to slice him from the other direction. However, Aaron was a little too quick for him, and ended up tangling his blades.

Sharpe's attack missed!!!!
Sharpe is stunned!!!!!

Aaron Attacks!!!!!
Aaron grinned. "Looks like I'LL sharpen MY skills on YOU GUYS!!!!" He said, holding out his right hand. A katana emerged out of it. It had a glowing red blade, with a beige handle. This was the Sword of Awesomeness, or SoA for short.

Aaron summoned the Sword of Awesomeness!!!!
Aaron attacks!!!!

Aaron then jumped high into the air while Slice was still trying to get his blades unstuck from the concrete, and gave him a mighty slice downwards, creating a gash on the 'bot's head.

CRITICAL HIT!!!!!
SLICE TAKES 30 DAMAGE!!!!!

Slice flailed his body around in pain, eventually falling on his robotic face. Ironically enough, his blades finally got unstuck.

Sharpe Attacks!!!!

"YOU'LL PAY FOR THAT, MEAT SUIT!!!!!!" Sharpe Shouted as he tried once again to one-two slice Aaron. However, Aaron countered the attack by blocking both blades with the SoA.

ATTACK COUNTERED!!!!!

Aaron then flip kicked Sharpe in the head, making him stumble, and then slashing the 'bot right through the middle vertically.

CRITICAL HIT!!!!
SHARPE TAKES 30 DAMAGE!!!

Sharpe stumbled from the impact. Both 'bot's were now sliced up.
"Slice!!! Let's leave them alone!!! They're no ordinary meat suits!!!!"
"r-right...s-sharpe!!" Slice tried to get up, but fell back down.
"This time we'll let you go, but the next time we meet, We're gonna slice and dice you!!!!" Sharpe said through gritted teeth, as he grabbed slice, and disappeared in a megaman-esque flash of light.

Aaron dissolved the SoA. He then turned to the girl. "Are you OK?" He asked.
"Y-yeah," She answered. "Thank god you came, Aaron!!!!"
Aaron smiled at the girl. "What are you doing here anyway, Christine?"

"Well, this is the place," Shorde said with a nod as he approached the rusted Egg Carrier. He dared not look behind him--for his fear of looking into its eyes again were too great--to confirm, but the rustling of fabric confirmed that the ragdoll had followed him. Silently willing it to go away, he proceeded up the catwalk and entered the downed ship.
Without waiting for Eggman to appear to him, Shorde spoke. "Hey, Eggman! You know how it goes when we fight evil around here; the hunt for Chaos Emeralds is on. Unfortunately, you should recall how Chaos Energy typically affects Robots. So, my friend Proto is here to be converted to run off of Chaos Energy--I'm only here to guarantee no funny stuff goes down. So...when can we get started?" After he was finished, Shorde took a moment to look around the room, wondering what exactly was on this ship anyway.
---
During her patrols, Fog-Woman's especially keen hearing easily picked up the sound of a fight. "Was that a sword swing?" she said to no one. "That can't be right...no swordsmen have been spotted in quite a while." Mind racing, she dashed towards the sound, finding a human fighting against two Robots that she couldn't pin a name to. They looked strikingly similar to Blade-Man in design and fight style, but differences in aesthetics made it clear that neither of them was him.
It wasn't long at all before more Coda Robots heard the sounds of fighting, and Fog-Woman was quickly joined by her siblings. Soon, Fog-Woman, Shard-Man, Delete-Man, and Pyro-Man had completely isolated the area. The human scared the Robots off, and they ran right past Delete-Man, but he let them go. Presently, a much more pressing matter was on his mind--was on all four of their minds. Who are they...and more importantly, who is he?
Wanting to find out rather than guess, the Coda Robots advanced on the pair of humans. Keeping their faces concealed, they brandished their basic weapons, Delete-Man pressing one finger into his forehead should the situation turn ugly. Raising their heads in unison, the siblings did the creepy thing they often did when they shared thoughts--they spoke for each other. "Who are you," "where did you come from," "why are you here," "and what is your alignment?!"

However, Before Aaron could answer Christine, he heard several voices from behind him:
"Who are you?"
"Where did you come from?"
"Why are you here?"
"And what is your alignment?!"
The sources of the voices came from a group of robots. They looked like they could easily whip someone in a fight if they weren't careful, so putting his best foot forward, Aaron answered them:

"My name is Aaron, Aaron Kunai. I came from another world via a mysterious portal. I have no idea as to why I'm here, or why my friend Christine Penny is here, and as for alignment, we are both neutral as of right now."

He hoped he said the right things. He really didn't want to end up as public enemy no. 1 on one, let alone all of those robots' list. He could hold his own to an extent, and he knew that one against four would NOT end in victory. However, he decided to take another step in terms of introduction.

"Who, or should I say WHAT are all of you? I assure you that I mean absolutely no harm to you, seeing that i possibly can't do any kind of damage to you."

(They were actually supposed to be four opposite directions, surrounded by them, but whatever works, I suppose.)

Fog-Woman raised one eyebrow at the human's testimony. Him coming from another world, but being unable to return struck her as most unlikely, and the couple's names sounded fake to her. The only breath of fresh air was the fact that he and his friend was unaligned. "Likely story..."
When the Coda siblings were prompted to give a name, Pyro-Man's friendlier instincts showed. "I'm Pyr--" he was quickly silenced when Fog-Woman shook her head at him. "We are four of the nine--well, actually, ten--Robots from the Coda family, and unless we can call you an ally, you've no need to know us on a first-name basis. And if you don't have an alignment, you'd better pick one fast, because this is Robotic warfare and you humans don't stand a chance."
"Actually..." came the call of Shard-Man, as he shattered the Glass Orb in his hands. "...he seemed to do a fine job against those two Blade-Man knockoffs. Granted, they were sloppy and seemed to have few brains to speak of, but the boy's still got all his limbs, huh? I say that makes him able-bodied."
Delete-Man dropped his guard as well, relieved that he wouldn't have to go through the effort of using a Delete Button. "I swear, Cloudy, this war's brought out the coldest in you yet. Of course the lad won't survive on his own--but hey, neither would we." Some had had it faster, but surely the same idea crossed their minds. The human was a decent fighter, and that was something to be sought for--even though the last bio-form to fight hadn't done so well, that was no reason to be rude. Suddenly, Fog-Woman smiled, and extended a hand towards Aaron. "You're right; I'm sorry. How'd you and your girlfriend like to come back with us to our base?" She left out the detail that they were with the good guys; after all, the humans could have been villains where they'd come from.

(Oh, yes, one more thing--don't quote posts. Everyone here knows who you're responding to, and it stretches out the page unnecessarily.)

Fog-Woman was pleased with this exchange. She led the way back towards the base, sure that Aaron was right behind her. "I'm Fog-Woman," she said on the way, "and those three are Shard-Man, Delete-Man, and Pyro-Man." she continued as she pointed to each of her brothers. "There are five--well, again, six--more of us, but they're all busy doing something else."
The group escorted the humans back with no trouble at all. Shard-Man and Pyro-Man opened the doors, while Fog-Woman beckoned them in. "Go on, make yourselves at home, perhaps talk to our other soldiers. Once you're ready for something more serious, head upstairs and talk to General Dive-Man--trust me, you won't be able to miss his office."

Aaron and Christine were amazed at the sheer size of thier base. However, what intrigued Aaron the most was their names. It seemed that they always ended in either "Man,"or"Woman."

"So....," he asked Christine, "What do you wanna do first?"

"I think that we should take a look around," Chris replied, holding Aaron's hand.

(REFRESHER FOR YA: FiniteZero plays as Eggman)

"Uh, yeah...and so do you." Shorde tapped Proto Man's wrist, referring to the video communications that all Robots appeared to be equipped with. "You can go ahead and make the call yourself." He continued to wait for the doctor, but admittedly his patience was growing thin. He walked further into the Carrier, looking for the doctor's red coat. "Yo, Fat Man! You in here?"
---
Fog-Woman relaxed when she saw the two humans holding hands. It was trivial, yes, but seeing that she had guessed that Christine was Aaron's girlfriend correctly made her happy. "You two be sure to introduce yourselves to others." After all, I don't want to be the only one who knows you two... "Alright, siblings, back to work! There's still a lot to do." The four Coda Robots swiftly left the building, going back to their patrol routes as quickly as they could.

It had taken Heart-Man a few minutes, but the more time that passed, the easier it was for him to focus on his job again. Medic-Man was far ahead of him in repairs, but he was still working, and that was the important part. Eventually, he set down his tools, and decided to see if his envy was really necessary. Turning to the other medical Robot, he carefully phrased a question: "Hey, maybe you'd like to try your hand at repairing Poison-Man?"
---
By now, Wire-Man had made his way deep into enemy territory. He was somewhat surprised that he hadn't found General Magic-Man yet, but he wasn't going to complain--there had to be something important to do or someone valuable to kill this far back. Finally tired of jump-whipping from building to building, Wire-Man walked down a flight of stairs into a building. He wasn't sure what he expected to see, but he really wanted to see something--it would be a nice change from all the nothing he'd seen.
