ProtoMan slid out of the hole and hopped on a hit and arrived at a pole with a star on a ball at the top. "Shorde, what is this?" ProtoMan asked as he pointed his video augmentation at the pole. |

Upon hearing Proto Man address him, Shorde glanced down at his watch. "Oh, that? It's a Check Point. Spin the ball on top around and it'll check how well you're doing. If you're doing really good, a ring of sparkles will appear--jump in and, well, you'll figure the rest out yourself. Legend has it that when Sonic was knocked unconscious by his opponents, he would occasionally wake up to find himself next to the last one he touched..." Shorde shook his head, getting himself out of his head. "Sorry, nearly got lost in a flashback there. Feel free to ask anything else." Figuring there wouldn't be anything hidden in the same wall, Shorde sheathed his sword and Spin-Dashed forward--putting away such a heavy sword would surely make him roll further. At the end of the path, he broke through a Motobug and two more item boxes, each holding ten Rings. "Gosh, it's a wonder those Robots are still operational..." He continued through the level, jumping on a spring just ahead to scale a wall far too high for him to jump. |

"Shorde, let's see what happens whe you touch it with your current amount of rings, let's see if the sparkling ring appears." ProtoMan said. "Sending you my coordinates, I am also sending them to Shadow." |

Sleet Man had been patrolling in the general area of Fog Woman's trek, keeping his buster caulked and ready for any sign of danger. He knew Signal Man would be returning eventually to his position, but for now, he was alone. Hearing footsteps to the left of himself, he peered through the alleyway of a building. He saw a slim, fast figure darting through the adjacent street. Believing it to be Quick Man or another faster robot, he began to dash through the alley, ready to crush the enemy he saw. He lowered his internal temperature, and readied a clip in his buster in preparation for the upcoming fight. --- Medic Man had finally finished all of the broken robots' repairs, sending them on their way. "Don't get so beat up next time, fellows!" he called after them as they cleared the infirmary. With not much else to do, he began to clean up all of the leaked oil and lubricants spilled around on the floor and beds. While he was idle, he attempted to strike up a conversation with the other doctor inside the room. "So, Heart Man, how's the human surgeon buisness going? I know that was the career choice you opted for after the Rebellion." |

"Shadow, huh? I guess I really should've learned their names earlier..." Shorde thought to himself for a brief moment. He was beginning to notice how some people's names seemed to define them. Briefly reading the coordinates, Shorde jumped over the gap between him and the pathway back, speeding to the location of the Check Point. After blazing by, with the wind force hitting the ball, he braked and looked back, wondering if the system would favor him. --- Despite how much he could have been doing with his time, Heart-Man had stayed in the infirmary the whole time--but why? It would only be more of the same; Medic-Man fixing Robots like he couldn't believe. Only occasionally stepping in to cut two things apart or weld them together, the other doctor was the only one really necessary for repairs. He was a little surprised to find himself being addressed by the superior medical Robot. "Oh, that? Uh...what about it? Training takes a while, there's the complication that your patient can die...pay's nice, but it took a lot of work. ...For me, anyway." Heart-Man cringed by instinct, as if expecting to be one-upped yet again. --- It didn't take long for Fog-Woman's keen hearing to detect that there was someone following her. Without letting them know she was aware, she kept running until there was a corner available, which she rounded. Swiftly getting into a firing stance, she hit her chaser in the head with a Hailstone as they rounded the corner. Smiling, she approached her victim, only to find that it was none other than Sleet-Man. "Hey, what are you doing?" Reaching with her hand, she carefully pulled him onto his feet. "The no-man's-land ended about five blocks that way," she scolded, briefly pointing back in the way she'd come from, "and you should know better than to sneak up on me like that!" |

Sleet Man looked shocked to find his target was the girl he had fallen for. "Uh..." he mumbled, barely audible. Embarrased and at a loss for words, he only hoped Signal Man would come around. And, rounding the corner, he did. "Sleet Man, that you?" he called out to his icy brother. He then noticed the Coda Robot in front of him. "Fog Woman? What are you two doing? Sleet, you passed the boundary line 5 blocks ago, and... Fog, I know you weren't with him. Why are you alone in Wily territory?" --- Medic Man chuckled wryly at the dying fact. "Well, yes, I assume working with robots has more leeway. Nice to hear, though- sounds like you're quite talented. I must admire how you are heal and fight with exceptional skill... but how do you balance both?" |

Heart-Man sighed quietly. "Admittedly...not very well. From the looks of it, I'm not a very good fighter or healer. Last time I was in a big fight that wasn't interrupted somehow, I had to use an E-Tank to bail myself out...and, well, it's obvious that you're a better field medic than me. And clearly, when you weren't here, you were doing something else, so there must have been yet another thing you did--probably better than me, too. "I feel inferior to you right now, Medic-Man--not a feeling us Coda Robots cope with easily. I'd made it my job to help out and look out for Roll--some help I was--but now she's not here, and I'm wondering what to do with myself." Raising his head away from the view of the infirmary's tiled floor, he looked the doctor in the eyes. "And you...you're fresh out of the workshop, and probably ready to turn my armor into scrap metal. I should be asking you, Medic-Man--how do you do it?" --- "I'm not with him. Lovebird here thought I was an enemy and chased me." Fog-Woman paused for a brief moment--she pretended to pull at her wispy hair, but in reality, she was giving that first word a chance to sink into Sleet-Man's head. "And I'm off for a small little ambush. Get a Robot, maybe two, try to beat back a couple forces at the gate and gain some ground. "Hey! Since your brother here seems interested in trespassing too," her face lighting up as she grabbed Sleet-Man by the arm, "maybe he should come along with me?" Without waiting for either's response, she started dragging him off with her. "It'll be safer if we go together and all, you'd better get back to your post! No point in me gaining ground if you're going to lose it! Bye!" |

Shadow looked at a watch ProtoMan had given him, it had a set of coordinates on it. He blazed to them eventually seeing Shorde and ProtoMan looking at a checkpoint with ring of sparkles hovering above it. "Well, it seems you're both a good fighter and a useful scout ProtoMan." Shadow said. "I do it all the time. I guess you could call it my specialty." ProtoMan said. |

Sleet Man blushed in a mix of anger and embarrassment when Fog Woman brought up the title, and was considering replying when she started to drag him off. Signal Man looked slightly confused and glanced sympathetically at his brother- all he could do was shrug. After getting out of sight from Signal Man, Sleet Man quietly followed in Fog Woman's footsteps, unwilling and unable to think of anything to say, but despondent on the inside at being made a mockery of. --- "How do I do it? Why, that's fairly simple to answer- the same way you do it. After recieving the data of you and your siblings for his database, he input all of the info from you to me, while adding some other repair info for some of his older creations. In short, I basically have the same medical knowledge as you. I guess since I'm only focused on being a support model, however, I simply have more dexterity and skill in these works than you do- no offense," he added hurriedly. "I really didn't have any intention of running you out of business, Heart Man, but I guess we're both two different robots built for two different purposes." "Besides, I thought you were playing second fiddle to the new Light series that was just made. I don't see why I'm in direct competition with you- to be frank, I really only work well in an enviroment such as this. You're a much better field medic then I am, and a much, much more capable fighter. The ones you should be worried about are Light's answers to you eight." "It's just a suspicion of mine, but the whole LAS isn't actually supposed to be Light's Chekov Gun here- why would he need one? The real reason behind it was jealousy of you and your siblings. Light was starting to slip from his perch after the Coda Rebellion, since you were all so advanced. Thus he created the LAS simply to one-up Coda- and as an added bonus, if he ever tried to hack them, he'd never get past the firewall installed, and Light could nab him in jail and prove Coda was a phony, thus cementing him the title of Greatest Robotics Professor. Again, merely a theory, but in hindsight it's quite possible. He made the firewall completely impossible to crack, since he's the only one to know the shut down code." "Anyway, I'm probably getting a little too dark for both our tastes, so I'm off. See you later, Heart Man," he said cheerfully, walking out of the infirmary. |

(Don't forget, Magnet--Aqua and Wire are in that fight.) As she vanished from Signal-Man's view, Fog-Woman let go of Sleet-Man, trusting him to follow. After a brief moment, she turned back towards him, a smug smirk on her face. "That's right, I know. Mega Man told me all about how much everyone likes me, and with how you acted around me...it was basic math." Suddenly, her face regained its coldness, and she glared back at him. "And I'll tell you right now, I don't like a klutz. So get your feet back on the ground and kill Wily Robots with me, and...well, maybe we'll talk then, I guess." Almost immediately after finishing, she turned forward and started sprinting again. She wasn't trying to get away him--she only wanted to see if he could think straight enough to keep up. --- "The Light...the Light Advanced Series?" Heart-Man chuckled to himself, trying to prevent himself from greater laughter. "Their first impression with me...was Signal-Man cutting himself on his own weapon, because he saluted with the wrong hand. Not a very good way to make a first impression..." Suddenly, Heart-Man's face turned grim. He wanted to respond that people underestimated Coda's hacking ability, and tell the tale of his six-week campaign to crack codes and run Kingpin Electronics into the ground, but by the time he was mentally prepared, he had already left. Heart-Man just sighed. Sure, he may not really be competing with Medic-Man, but the way he brought up how his knowledge had been plucked straight from his head...it made him feel as if he'd worked for nothing. Although, if the Light Advanced Series was more competent than they seemed, then he thought he really should be on his toes for them. "Well...now that Roll's is over, I guess I should use some, too." Suddenly mindset on getting into another fight, Heart-Man took a block of scrap metal and begun sharpening his Circle Saw on it... |

Sleet Man was indignant at being called a klutz, and his temperature rose- not because of embarassment, but of anger. He began to sprint too, and in nearly no time had caught up to Fog Woman. When he was about to pass her up, he whispered to himself icily- "You saw Air Man." He then got another burst of speed, and quickly passed Fog, rounding the left corner of the street up ahead. He checked his radar positioning system in his internal processes, and stopped at another intersection, pointing north and indicating where he knew enemies were. An unhappy sneer was on his face and his temperature were still at rather high levels. --- Signal Man had gotten back to base, reporting his patrol log in with the door officer and heading down to the surplus room to grab an E-Tank for future patrols. Cutting through the infirmary, he saw Heart Man honing his Circle Saw. "Hey, Heart," he said politely, waving to him. "I think you should talk to your sister- she dragged my brother off with her into Wily territory." Not knowing if he heard him due to the sound of the metal, he went inside the surplus room, checking to see if an E-Tank was inside. --- Aqua Man had continued his barrage of Water Balloons, unrelenting in his attack against Wire Man. This had allowed some of his troops on the ground to continue up to the roof, giving him supporting fire. Aqua Man offered a grim smile under his armor. "You'll never win Wire Man! Surrender and come quietly- or else your medic buddy will have a hard time fixing you!" |

"Sure thing, Shadow, you lead. After all, you're the only one of us who's actually been to a Special Stage." Shorde stood back expectantly, wondering what the challenge would be...and if Shadow would have to face it alone. --- Fog-Woman was surprised to see that her admirer could keep up with her. She was one of the swiftest amongst the Coda Robots, and not many Robot Masters could keep up with her. When he passed her up, however, she wasn't mad--in fact, she smiled. "Now that is what I wanna see." She was about to increase her speed along with him to avoid getting shown up, but as she looked ahead, she realized that he had stopped. He pointed straight ahead--she could only imagine he was trying to lead her towards the enemies. "Oh, you've got radar? Nice." Stopping beside him to look at the screen, she found it to be primitive...but any radar was a good radar, and as it was, it was still nothing she'd seen before. "Okay, cut the running...the element or surprise is important in an ambush. You might want to cool your jets, too," she added with a glance at his thermometer, "otherwise you should be Steam-Man instead." She stood quietly, waiting for him to lead the way. --- Wire-Man staggered back, water leaking from the joints in his knees and ankles. That settled it--he needed to be a better dodger, or soon he'd be waterlogged. Coughing for a brief moment, which also expelled water, he looked up at Aqua-Man with the same look on his face at the beginning. "I would sooner fall off this building and have my memory unit shattered into a million before I let myself get captured. Not if it means going to Coda..." Wire-Man deftly leg-sweeped a Sniper Joe that had gotten too close, then kicked upwards, nailing it in the chin and sending it careening off the edge of the building. He was about to perform a similar tactic on another, but before he could, he felt a spark in his Cable Whips as they became active again. "Oh, now you're in for it." Falling into a kneeling position, he dipped his wires into the large pool of water that had collectively formed from all the Water Balloons that he'd received. With any luck, this would kill off all the Joes and cause substantial damage to the real threat... --- "Oh, her? She can take care of herself. We may be a team of Coda Robots, but we don't have a problem with each other running off. Matter of fact...I was going to do the same thing soon enough." Heart-Man had keen hearing, but he was almost positive that his response was not heard. "I've got to practice, and the only way to do that is by going out into the field and killing...you interested in forming a hunting party?" Heart-Man stopped and turned to Signal-Man, but he had already left. "Oh, well...surely there's someone who'd be willing to tag along. ...Though, I'd like to be with Roll..." Heart-Man quickly banished the thought. She'd come back when she was ready. Quietly walking down out of the infirmary, Heart-Man spent some time wandering the facility. He'd need some people who were willing to go with him in order to form a real party--surely, he could go alone and improve with the Regen Cannon, but he also needed to be a field medic, and that meant practicing getting people back on their feet quickly. |

Sleet Man closed his eyes, breathing in deeply and putting his hands together as if meditating. In less then a minute, his temperature plummeted, back to normal levels. He then checked the building right next to him, looking at the gutter funnel on the side. Grabbing hold of it to see if it was sturdy enough, he then back-flipped off of it, grabbed the fire-escape platform on the next floor, swung up to the next platform catching it with his feet, then did a front flip and landed softly on the building's roof. He looked back down at Fog Woman, and flashed a somewhat smug smile himself. He then checked the surrounding areas for the enemies he picked up, eventually scoping out two robots- "Charge and Shade," he mumbled quietly. --- Signal Man had heard Heart Man say something, but since he left so abruptly he was unable to respond. "Ah, well, he's probably out doing something. Wonder what, though," he mumbled. He cracked open the E- Tank, and sipped a bit out of it, enjoying his small break. --- Most of the Joes collectively stood back, but two got zapped into submission and fell unconcious. Aqua Man had been out of range from the puddle anyway, and looked ferocious. "You little- I've had enough of this, Wire Man! If you're not coming with us, then I'll just take care of your little wish!" He began to spin the water inside his tank, and shot out a large whirlpool at Wire Man, shooting torwards him at a high speed. |

(*Finally goes and looks up Aqua-Man footage* Wait a second, he doesn't have a whirlpool attack!) Wire-Man had never seen such an attack from a water-based Robot Master before...and that was strange, considering that his siblings had done research on every single one. So lost in thought that he completely forgot that the raging whirlpool was aimed at him. It took him one moment too many to realize this fact, otherwise he might have found a way to dodge. "Well, fu--" was all he managed to get out before the whirlpool slammed into him. Water flooded his circuits, and the spinning was disorienting, but most importantly of all, the knockback from the blast launched him off of the rooftop. With plenty of time to build falling speed, Wire-Man braced for impact, knowing he wouldn't stand up afterwards. Landing luckily on his back, he felt his connections being broken as his Message Relayer snapped in two. His left arm snapped off entirely, and he could tell that his right had had its hinges loosened by the impact. The worst part, of course, was that he had survived the fall. Now, he would definitely be taken back to Dr. Coda...as Wave-Man approached to take him in, he made one last attempt to defeat his opponent. "Well...looks like I'm hanging...by a wire..." When his opponent didn't keel over from the horrible joke, Wire-Man conceded and powered down. --- Fog-Woman raised an eyebrow, watching Sleet-Man's acrobatics with mild interest. "Parkour? No problem...I owned the rooftops!" Running a few steps up the wall, she caught on to the same spot on the fire escape. She nearly slipped and lost her handholds once, and she had to grab the next platform up with her hands, but her last jump was spectacular. Launching herself high into the air, she flipped three times before landing beside Sleet-Man, arms in the air. ...Wait, had she just showed off for him? Fog-Woman quickly dismissed the thought, mentally convincing herself that she had added the flips for more upward momentum. "Charge and Shade, huh? If you can freeze Shade-Man's wings, he'll be crippled, but Charge-Man has the Coal Shot...you'd better stay on your toes. Which way?" |

(Don't see why not if they can fit in the story. By the way, these robots can still be upgraded, you know- why wouldn't they get new attacks if put in service again?) Aqua Man had smirked under his face mask, looking at Wire Man's crippled body. "Joes, pick him up. We've got a delivery for a Dr. Coda." The remaing troops with him gathered the body and other pieces, and quickly left. --- Sleet Man smiled and shook his head at Fog's acrobatics, then shrugged as to where to attack as he looked over the set of rooftops. The eastern ones could give them the advantage of jumping right in front of them... but it was awfully stupid to do so due to the shock of the landing and the time to recover from it. He then looked at the northern ones, knowing that if they started moving up, they could intercept them at an intersection, but it was rather chancey to do so since it depended on them going up. Thus, with no concrete decision to go off of, he offered a confused face and simply looked at her. --- Malware only rolled her eyes at Ballade. "Oh, please. Still sore about getting your arms frozen? You could've broken them, too, if you slammed them together harder." She was still disappointed the Mobian didn't die, but brutally stabbing him lightened her mood, at least. "Why don't we head into the city and crush some of those dumb Light soldiers? Maybe it'll lighten your sour mood a bit." --- Skull Man had been standing against a wall for a bit after doing a favor for a small robot. His mask was still gone, but his eyes were a dark, glowering red, with large bags underneath them still. After doing a lot of nothing, he was rather bored. He did see Heart Man crossing the corner, though. Letting a relaxing look across his usually tense face prevade, he offered a "Hi, Heart Man," before going back to looking at the floor. |

"I like that idea, wanna come with?" Ballade asked. Ballade's suppressed feelings for Malware started to come through. -------------------- Shadow was in the specialstage, as was Proto. "Woah, this looks pretty intersting." ProtoMan said. There was a halfpipe with rings and bombs along it. And the sky was flashing rainbow colors. ---------------- Monsteropolis, Dr. Lights Lab "Dr. Light...can you get the portal wroking again, I along with my robots, wish to go to Mobius to aid yours and Cossack's robots in the fight against Wily..." A teenage looking boy with ong, black, Cossack hairdo, but longer, and no beard, walked into the lab. (OOC: Is there anyone playing Dr. Light to respond to this?") |

(That's a fair statement, but...this is the first I've caught wind of such a thing, so it took me by surprise.) (And Proto, Dr. Light, like the other Doctors, are free-use characters that can be controlled by just about anyone.) "Disorienting, isn't it?" Shorde asked rhetorically as he landed beside Proto Man. He looked around for a brief moment, wondering how to pass the special stage, when the words burned themselves into his mind. "Collect 300 Rings." "Oh...kay..." he muttered to himself. He was about to start walking along the half-pipe when suddenly, he was forced by some greater force to start running at top speed. "Alright, guys, I don't know what's going on, but I don't like it. Proto, shoot the mines so they explode before reaching us if you can...and, well, you heard the creepy voice. Get 300 of 'em!" Shorde continued his forced sprint, trailing behind Shadow to pick up whatever he missed. --- Seeing that Sleet-Man needed advice, Fog-Woman looked around herself, quickly coming to the same conclusion. "Well, if you're worried about taking damage from the fall, that rules out the Eastern buildings...I guess we should head North. If you're worried about being caught...don't be. You're with me, remember?" To emphasize her words, she pointed her buster hand up and shot out a single wisp of fog. "Only an idiot walks straight into a Stealth Fog. Come on, I'll lead," she finished as she started dashing across rooftops, clearing the gaps between them with graceful leaps and bounds. --- Heart-Man smiled and waved at Skull-Man--now, there was a character who could always use his help. "Hey, there! Would you care to join me for a quick attack on Wily forces? Maybe we can find one of their warehouses and wreck a bunch of Apache Joe Copters." Then he quickly remembered who he was talking to, and changed his approach. "Sorry...first and foremost, it's been a good while! How are you doing? You don't look so well, but healing takes time...and, well, I probably don't look too good either." |

"Eh, these bags are just from lack of sleep... I was built with red eye tint. And sure, why not? Better than standing around." He pushed himself off the wall, and headed down with Heart Man to wherever he was going. --- Sleet Man had been a bit startled by Fog Woman's abrupt jump, but he readied himself and began to follow. After going through four buildings, his front foot slipped off the roof's edge. He bumped his head on the side as he began to fall, disoriented and falling fast. Managing to right himself in time, he grabbed the fire escape ladder before hitting the ground, but it nearly fell until he was able to freeze it over. He went back up to the roof, holding his head. --- Aqua Man and his troops had gotten out of the city and were ready to get to Wily's Stronghold. "Be sure not to break it more- I want to see what Coda'll do with the rest of him." They began to walk torwards their base, eager to see what dastardly deeds he had in store for him... |
