(Uh, CHAOS? The Third fights for the Light side...)

Mega Water S. sat two seats away from Tide Man. The robot who pushed him into the spot of field general despite Bright Man's initial objections, he often played devil's advocate to ease concerns that Tide was shirking his duties when he went on unauthorized raids. He had formed an easy, conversational sort of bond with him and supported most of his decisions. "Dive Man has been planning something big," he said as he nodded in acknowledgement to Dr. King. "He said he needs more soldiers to try anything... maybe your brother could attack another warehouse or something. We could use a morale booster."
~
Outside the room, two yellow Joes stood at attention. They didn't usually listen to what the generals talked about, but the door was open, and they heard Mega Water's words.

One of them flinched.

The day they raided that drone storage facility was a great one. It was immensely successful, and the soldiers they captured were still being used- at least what was left of them. The attack on their base had taken out a good portion of those captured robots, including the giant dinosaur, one of the VAN Pookins, and plenty of smaller drones.

Including one of their own.

All three had been close to the end of the city, but an attack by Bunby Tanks had badly injured one of them, and he had to be left behind. Wreckage from the attack was still reported to be in the city as cover. There was still hope, but they had not gotten the chance to return to see if he was there.

The Joes snapped back to attention as Dive Man, Ring Man and Knight Man entered the room. They looked at each other briefly, then looked ahead again.
---
Dive Man and Knight Man surveyed the room as Ring Man took his seat. "We'll wait for Bright and Volt before we begin- Watt will be informed later." He took his seat at the head of the table and looked over some of his files.

Ballade then kept walking and remembered he had Malware to talk to. He even set up their own private frequency within the long month, they'd radio each other whenever they were alone or bored when they weren't in each other's general vicinity. "Hey Malware, you there? I've been patrolling this skyscraper every day for a month now. There's no one here...not even a couple of Mets crawling around. This place is a GHOST TOWN." He said into his comm unit.
-----------------
Dr. King nodded at Mega Water S. Probably one of the few generals that liked everyone despite their faults, he appreciated that. "I sure hope so." Dr. King's Army Joe followed behind him and stood behind his chair. "My plan foolishly depended on our inter dimensional teleporter. And now we have no contact with Monsteropolis. However I have Break and Crackshot gathering some equipment, with approval of DiveMan, to help fix that problem. My other active robot, Spy, is still in Wily's base, disguised as a Sniper Joe. He's been smuggling equipment out of it so I can get my lab up and running. And I also ordered him to feed us any useful information he may come across. But enough of that, i'll explain the rest once the meeting starts." He stated. His young, prodigal brain was racing, formulating predictions and plans of what to do next. However they were only theories, nothing concrete. Plus anything he comes up with had to be cycled through all of the other generals before actually going into effect.

(Bah, it's been too long.)

Tide-Man relaxed a little to see Mega Water S. already at the table. "I would, man," he began, "but we've had to adhere tighter and tighter to our schedules lately. Wire's out for obvious reasons, Poison is too griefstricken to act for once, I'm busy sitting here, Shard's a prison guard, Heart's hands are tied 24/7 in the medical room, and Kindle is a dedicated night guard. That leaves only Blackout, Delete, and Fog open for a raid—and the three of them alone can't do enough damage against a droid force this massive."
---
"Ah, Proto Man..." For just a vague moment, Roll spaced out, as if recalling something distant. "I haven't heard from brother in a while. Good to know he's still alive." In any case...most of us are just waiting around to receive orders. If you want to participate in the next raid, enlisting will be simple. Just walk over there," she said, motioning to the small base in the distance. "I only hope you're a soldier worth the time it spent me to talk to you." She turned sharply, and walked back towards the quarters. There was no point in standing around, and resting before the next battle was a smart idea.
---
As Sleet-Man walked into the infirmary, Heart-Man looked up, smiled, and waved at him. He had done no operations on the Light Advanced Robot, as their systems would require some study for him to pick up. It was better to leave it to the professional. He was set repairing a rotor—two days ago, Tornado-Man had been shot out of the sky by Search-Man, and the Light forces had lost a key player. Heart-Man had worked furiously for days without sleep to repair him as quickly as possible. Indeed, Heart-Man did not sleep at all anymore—he remained constantly plugged into the wall, a power cord trailing after him as he walked around, operating rapidly on different repair projects. "Yes, in a few hours, our eye in the sky should be fully operational once again...we could be able to use him as a scout...is Quick-Man cooperating these days, or is he still down in the prison?"

Fog-Woman was also in the infirmary, sitting on the bed beside Gust-Man. As Sleet-Man approached, she flushed red and shifted a little. In the past month, their relationship had gone steadily, but awkwardly. Fog-Woman, being foreign to the concept of love, was never sure what the proper thing to do was. It was almost as if the tables had turned on them. "Oh...hi, Sleet. How are you doing?"

Ring Man chuckled a bit. "Oh, come on, Tide. You're no stranger to the raid business- hell, you went on three in the last two weeks-"

"Which were all successful," Mega Water S. butted in. "He even captured Wire Man in one of them, and that's no small feat."

"I wasn't referring to regulations. All I'm saying is that if we plan another one, he should le-"

"Oh, Bright Man and Volt Man. Any success?" Dive Man inquired eagerly.

"Afraid not," Bright Man said, mopping his forehead. "We're close... but not quite there yet. With new materials, it might work."

"Well, all right... take your seats. We're about to begin."
---
Sleet Man smirked when he saw Fog Woman sitting near his brother. Their relationship had gone rather smoothly, though it was strained at the base. She had helped with his silence immensely, and he could now converse a little easier with other robots. He was still unsure how to act around her when around other robots, but when they were alone on missions, their teamwork and unity was unmatched in the entire Light army.

"Hey, Heart Man," he said as he returned the wave. He then sat next to Fog Woman. "Pretty well... how are you? Haven't seen you almost all day." He glanced back over at his brother, with shrapnel removed from his armor, but still powered off.
---
Malware picked up the transmission coming from her communicator. She was standing on a tall building, doing exactly the same thing Ballade was doing. "Bah, I don't know. We haven't found anything for two weeks- I'm betting those Light forces haven't bothered doing anything. Maybe in a couple of days we could go searching for them, unless they decide to rear their ugly heads sooner or later. Coda said something about waiting though... And that's just what I plan to do." She shut off the mic as she kept looking for enemies.

Ballade then responded. "I heard we get off our shifts in a couple hours. Wanna.....um...grab an E-Tank?" He hesitated to ask. He hadn't asked Malware on a date in awhile. The last "date" they had was slaughtering Light drones two week ago during one of TideMan's surprise raids. Plus, Malware wasn't big on dates, she was extremely focused on combat, more than himself. But hey, it didn't hurt to ask.
-----------
"Ah, excellent." Dr. King said. "It is very nice to see all of you gentlemen again. Hopefully this meeting can bring some light on current and possible future plans of action."
-----------
"Hmph." Shadow said. "She's a lot different than how ProtoMan described her...and a completely different attitude to match." Shadow thought. He nudged Shorde and motioned for them to sign up for a mission.
----------
ProtoMan slid through the daytime shade and made it past some Light base patrols. He then climbed on a wall and looked in the window overlooking the general's meeting, watching and listening, silently.

Without any indication to, Tide-Man led the opening. "It has been one month since we were forced to retreat from The Last City. Attacks since then have proven ineffective, and it's only a matter of time until our opponents initiate their pincer on Monsteropolis—and we cannot let that happen. We must finish them before they finish us. Only one question remains: how? We need to initiate an attack on the doctor's base, one way or another, and destroy the manufacturing facilities while eliminating the Robot Master generals on the other side. Without direction given by a higher Robot or continuous production, the droids will be crippled, and then we can get at the doctors themselves without worry. What intel do we have?" Tide-Man's fists were clenched tightly on the table. He was positive that in his short life, he had wanted nothing more than to win this war.
---
"Ah, go ahead! I've already enlisted with the Light forces. I just have to wait for someone to tell me what to do." Shorde found a seat on a nearby stump, watching the Robots coming and going from underneath his grated helmet.
---
"Well...I'm doing fine," Fog-Woman said with a smile. "Haven't had much to do aside from maintenance work lately, so when I heard one of your siblings was injured, I came down to the infirmary to take a look at them and help how I could." Her eyes wandered to the deactivated Light Advanced Robot. "...You're all very fine pieces of work, you know that? I don't know anyone else who can do what you do—make a Coda Robot their friend." She powered on Gust-Man, keeping her neutral, though slightly flushed, expression. "I know things could be a lot better for us right now...but I think we still have a shot at winning this war..."

Dr. King spoke up. "With permission from DiveMan, I have Break and Crackshot gathering equipment from either abandoned or lowly guarded Wily forts to build a lab for me, or whoever else might need it. Also, Spy has been disguised as a Sniper Joe for a long time now, he is also smuggling information and equipment from the two doctor's main stronghold. The equipment will be arriving soon, and Spy still has orders to kill the robots in the control room and deactivate the automated defenses and disable nearby robots with his EMP device. Also, Spy has reported that the best way for a surprise attack would be from behind their main stronghold, if that is what we are aiming to attack. There is a slight hole in their radar due to the surrounding forests and small mountains and such. So we can slip in without being detected, however, we must remain in a straight line. The hole in the radar is only so large. Or, I can ask Spy to also deactivate the radar systems as well as the automated defenses and EMP nearby robots, leaving us able to do a large scale surprise assault. Due to our current impatience and low resources I say we sneak into the base through the hole in the radar. So then, Spy's cover won't be blown, and it will cost us less supplies and less troops. If you have any other suggestions then by all means."
-------------------
ProtoMan kept listening. He found this new information intriguing. He got closer to the window and quietly opened it, and snuck in during the discussion and hid in the shadows of the room.

(I'm going to assume that this is the posting order from now on:
Me › Proto › Chaos. If we could adhere to this, I think organization can be handled way better than before.)

Dive Man shook his head. "That would be a smart idea, but from recent intel we've picked up, the generals have all moved up into Wily's Monsteropolis base, besides the field ones. As far as I know, those are still only Magic Man and Slash Man... the others are all holed up on Earth."

"I don't think we'd have enough soldiers to try even that," Ring Man said. "Half of the Sixth is out of comission, since they managed to head back to Light's base in order to grab emergency forces, but when they were doing so, the teleporters were destroyed. None of the First is here, either, and neither is the half of the 8.5th Rebellion on our side."

"Not to mention our drone forces were severly slashed when we came under attack," Volt Man reminded him.

Mega Water S. put his hand on the table. "I'd agree that we're low on manpower, but that only gives us reason to get some. I'm sure Wily hasn't stopped the practice of putting drone warehouses in bombed out cities- there are two within a ten-mile radius of here. If we can get to them, bring soldiers back, and reprogram them, we might have a shot at attacking... somewhere," he finished, his voice faltering.

"He has a point..." Bright Man mused. "We've got a couple here who can reprogram drones, myself included- and hey, it's not too hard to learn either, depending on how difficult the coding is."

Dive Man eased back into his chair. "I still don't know where in the world we'd attack, though... We can't attack their base with our current forces."

Knight Man thought for a moment. "...Have we ever considered occupying the bombed cities?" he said quietly.
---
Sleet Man blushed a bit. "I credit lack of prior knowledge," he said with a wink. He'd heard of all the moaning and sadness about how Roll had changed so much, but to him and his siblings, she was the same as they'd always known her- strong and willful, but also very kind. A chill passed over his face whenever he thought about her, however- that one day, when the Infectant broke loose... He vowed never to kill another Robot Master older than him again.

Oddly enough, he and Air Man had become friends of sorts. Whenever assigned to guard duty, he and Quick Man seemed pretty amiable and willing to talk. It was Flash Man who was a sourpuss, however...

When she started to talk a little more seriously, he put a hand on her shoulder. "I agree that things are looking pretty bleak right now... but every hero has his or her setbacks. I'm sure that the generals will think of something." With that, he turned his attention to his brother, who was just powering on.

Gust Man started to moan as he woke up from the power shutdown. "Eugh... Guess I'm still not quite out of here yet," he mumbled.

Sleet Man chuckled. "Not quite yet, but soon. The third-in-command told me you'd be out in a day or two."

"Bah. Well, then, long as I can help soon. At least Tornado got out with me." He looked to his side to see Fog Woman sitting there. Obviously there was a bit of animosity between them (wind clears fog), but he was happy to see his brother with her- they seemed a perfect fit. "Afternoon, Fog Woman. Looking good, as always. Any reports from scouts yet? It seems like Wily and Coda have been fairly quiet recently...

Ballade shut up after he didn't get a response from Malware. He sighed. "Things could be so different if there wasn't so much work to do." He thought.
-------------------
"Well I still have that equipment coming in. It'll take about a day." Dr. King said. "Also, I think occupying the bombed out cities possibly housing some inactive drones is a great idea. Also, once I get my new lab up, I can construct new Army Joes to add to our roster." Dr. King said. "And I could get a new teleporter up, however it will be hard to piggyback on our old signal and trans-dimensional waves. Mostly because it's been so long, and because we are in a different location, the only way to get our teleporters up is to get me back to my old lab. Which, right now, is impossible."

"I don't think housing ourselves in another city is a good idea." Tide-Man's fists relaxed slightly, but remained firmly planted in the table. "Time is of the essence; we can't afford to pack up and move further away from the threat. We don't have that sort of time. We are to strike hard and fast if we get to strike at all." Flicking his wrist, he brought up a hologram of the surrounding landscape. "In addition, if you've spotted the nearby cities, you've probably also noticed that the landscape of Mobius is very uneven and strange." Several spots on the map where loop-de-loops occurred, high jumps were required, and floors curved up into walls glowed red, accentuating his point. "A fast Robot Master like Quick-Man or a flying Robot like Tornado-Man could probably navigate it with ease. A Robot Master like Hard-Man...not so much. Sending missions to collect undamaged droids sounds like a fine idea—especially if they have the rest of the Dreamwave Series, the first one had Express-Man and he was a fine soldier—but we can't afford to up and move our operations to another city."

"Speaking of insufficient Robot Masters, could we send someone down to the prison to negotiate with the Second Rebellion? Some of them are still damaged—Bubble-Man seems to be beyond repair, poor thing—but the remainder of them would make much better soldiers than prisoners. Is it possible we could get them on our side? I think that would make tackling the city seem a lot less daunting..."
---
"No, no news at all...though, the last time I was there on an unauthorized raid, it looked like a mess. There aren't many Robot Masters wandering the city, though I hear...Malware..." Fog-Woman stumbled over the word, as if it was awkward to say it. "...is still there. They have droids to ridiculous numbers, though—can't take three steps in the city before there's a fleet of Apache Joes upon you. There's so much congestion and confusion, it's difficult to navigate. We haven't been able to do any substantial damage." She sighed, glancing upward. "To think we once called ourselves the greatest Robots to ever grace the Earth, and we can't even fight our way through a horde of droids to blow up a single factory...it's a sobering experience, it really is. I suppose it takes all kinds to make an army."

Knight Man shrugged. "I only assumed we could put up outposts, but I guess you're right- we barely have any manpower as it is."

"Only if we get enough men. As for the terrain... Well, I'd agree that it'll be difficult to traverse. I've got no idea how the work is going on converting Robot Masters to our side- apparently a couple of them are showing some signs of progress, but for every one of those there's another that's obstinate. A couple of guards have reported that Air Man and Quick Man seem friendly and have expressed limited interest in coming to our side, but others, such as Flash Man and Metal Man, appear to be holding out. In addition, those of the Fifth Rebellion seem to be equally adamant- most have been rather unresponsive," Mega Water S. reported.

"Robot Masters would be nice, no doubt, but apparently skill isn't beating numbers. We need to add bulk to our forces, not just expertise. Mega Water S.'s idea seems reasonable, especially with cities in that close proximity. If both Multi Man and Barrage Man haven't been taken out of reserve yet, we've got a chance to double, maybe even triple our soldier count... and with those numbers, I'd be more than willing to attack any target we decide on," Dive Man added. "Which brings us to our next question- where should we attack?"
---
Sleet Man smirked a bit. "Wily has always been big on numbers, but low on intelligence. One only needs to look at Charge Man for that," he said, stifling a laugh. Charge Man, along with Shade Man, had been their first enemies that they fought together. Oddly enough, he had still escaped the grasp of Light's army, with three of his brothers still at large- Napalm Man, Gravity Man, and Gyro Man. "I wonder how he and Shade are doing nowadays."

"Speaking of which, Fog, I blocked a late night... 'scouting mission' for tonight. I'll be scouting area around the northernmost block of the city- I'd be more than happy if you were to join me. I figured that you were probably tied up with some boring base work- thought you'd like a little excitement today."

"I believe that we have two main options right now. Either the main stronghold, or the city. In my opinion, the city is our best bet. It is not as heavily guarded as their main stronghold. Also, TideMan's raids were successful. So I believe an attack would also be quite successful." Dr. King said. The Army Joe remained silent.
--------------
Shadow walked over to the desk, and after a few minutes of conversation and some paperwork, he was enlisted. He then sat next to Shorde.
--------------
Ballade then saw a SniperJoe. "Hey, you! Get me an E-Tank!" He barked. The SniperJoe quickly complied and brought him an E-Tank. "Now go get Malware one...i'm sure shes thirsty." He ordered. "If someone like her ever gets thirsty.." He thought. The Joe complied and fetched an E-Tank, traveled up to the rooftop Malware was located and handed her the E-Tank.
"C-Complements o-of B-Ballade." The SniperJoe managed to croak, he could barely speak due to fear.
--------------
ProtoMan watched in the shadows. He eyed the Army Joe. That upgraded copy of himself. It made him sick just looking at it. He knew the Army Joe knew that he was there, it was just waiting for him to make a move...

"From my perspective, we have only one option: the city. If Dr. Wily's strategy is so heavily droid-centered , as is our suspicion, we need only to recapture the city and demolish his droid factories. Once we have accomplished that, the army will be crippled, but we can't allow the opponent any time to recuperate. Once the factories are demolished, we advance on the Wily Stronghold here, powering through whatever lies in there—and, by extension, the Skull Castle back at home. Are we all in agreement on that?"
---
At the moment of mentioning a "scouting mission," the temperature on Fog-Woman's thermometer spiked, and her red flush grew deeper. "Oh, uh...yeah, sure, I'll be there," was all she could utter before standing up and walking away.
She made a bee-line for the sanitary wash, splashing some cold water on her face as quickly as she could get it. "Aw, dang it...I shouldn't be this nervous around him. I shouldn't be this nervous around anyone, really. He probably didn't mean anything by "excitement..." oh, curses, my heart is racing!" She remained where she was until she was sure Sleet-Man had left the infirmary.

Sleet Man seemed a bit surprised when Fog Woman abruptly left. "Oh.. whoops. Maybe I implied a bit too much..." He stood up from the bed, shrugging his shoulders. "Ah, well, she'll see what I have planned anyway. Do get better soon, Gust, and take care, Heart Man. I have to go meet with Signal Man for a few minutes- you know, in case she... erm, wonders where I went." He shook his head a bit, and headed out the door, taking care to go to the opposite exit that didn't link to the washroom.
---
Dive Man nodded in agreement. "I only assumed that the city was the most logical attack point. Dr. King's and Tide Man's ideas seem sound... Very well. We'll need supplementary attacks on warehouses- I'll set those for three days in advance. Depending on how long it takes to reprogram anything, we'll leave some time open for the city attack- but I want it set four days after the warehouse attacks. We'll adhere to a one week schedule- raise any objectives you might have now."
---
Malware turned abruptly around when a Sniper Joe came behind her. "Oh, what a marshmallow," she said with a slight grin as she took the E-Tank. Seeing the Joe cower gave her a slightly good feeling, but she flipped him a five-screw instead. "For your troubles," she replied as she sat down with the E-Tank and cracked it open.

She heard the Joe walk away, down the steps, and sighed to herself. "I wish the war was less boring than this- I hope those Light bots find their courage soon. I'm getting a little..." She flashed one of her blades. "Antsy."

Ballade drank his E-Tank. Feeling refreshed, he continued to patrol the city. He passed a few buildings and he saw nothing. "Bah. I'm growing impatient. When will those losers make a move!!" He shouted.
--------
"I have no objections." Dr. King said. "Within one day my lab equipment will arrive. Allowing me to construct more troops." He added. "Also.....ProtoMan...you can come out now.."
--------
Under his visor his eyes grew wide. He sprinted toward the window attempting to escape, but the Army Joe grabbed him by his scarf and put in in a choke hold, albeit putting no real pressure I his neck. "Getting rusty ProtoMan?" Dr. King said sarcastically. "What is a rouge soldier like you doing here?" He then asked. ProtoMan have no response, just a glare.

"Excellent, one of our best soldiers has returned. By the way, Joeseph," Tide-Man said, glaring daggers at the Army Joe, "you are to release him immediately. If you shoot him, I will personally execute you right here and destroy your blueprints, ensuring that a Robot such as yourself should never be created again." Tide-Man had, admittedly, not taken a liking to the self-righteous Dr. King, and called his Joe "Joeseph" as a form of mocking him. Briefly breathing in and out to relax his nerves, he turned back to the other generals. "The next logical step would be to choose the Robots to send on these storage-raid missions—but before we do that, we should probably send someone to speak to the prisoners. Can we all agree to adjourn this meeting until this evening, at which point the conversation will have hopefully taken place?"

"Sounds fair enough," Dive Man agreed. "We'll meet here again later today. By then, I hope that Watt Man will be able to join us. Meeting adjourned, gentlemen." With that, Ring Man stood up and stretched. "All right, back here in a couple of hours. Better go check the wall defenses." He left before Volt Man and Bright Man set off to work on the teleporters again, while Dive Man and Knight Man went to deliberate on who should head the attacks. Mega Water S. stayed inside the room, pulling out a few maps to decide the best course to the cities.
---
Sleet Man met with his brother Signal Man down in the cargo hold. He started to ramble on again about what he should do when around his girlfriend- a topic that left Signal Man slighty annoyed.

"It's just that I don't get what to say whenever I'm around her and others. I mean, privately, we can say stuff easier, but when it comes to public places I say the wrong things or say things that might mean other things which I don't mean to say-"

Signal Man sighed in frustration. "Since when did you become so darn talkative? Listen, I may have never dated before, but don't worry too much over mistakes. She's new to this thing too, you know."

"Yes, I know that... I'm just nervous. I don't want to embarrass her in front of our or her siblings..."

"Well, I'll tell you one thing. If she does like you, then she won't give up on you just because of one mistake. Just be yourself, all right?"

Sleet Man nodded. "Yeah, got it. Thanks for the talk."

Signal Man waved it off. "Oh, don't mention it." It's only the fourth time this month, that's all... he thought bitterly.
---
Sword Man was busy reading a Wily bulliten he had somehow picked up a few hours ago. Apparently he had not been removed from the information database yet. In it contained some sporadic pieces of miscellaneous information- his brother Search Man was now a field general, good for him- but the most interesting news came in the form of a call for the 7th Rebellion bots back to Monsteropolis. "Strange... that doesn't appear to hold any significance here. I wonder what he might be up to..." Shrugging, he closed the program, then headed out into the halls, hoping to look for either of the sword masters he had grown to admire.

The Army Joe complied to TideMan's order and ProtoMan was released. Dr. King sat next to Mega Water S to help him configure the paths to the cities.
------------
After he was released, ProtoMan walked over to DiveMan and said "I'll talk to the Second Rebellion for you..." The Army Joe then appeared and directed him to the prison before going back into the meeting hall. ProtoMan then went inside the prison and looked inside. He saw the second rebellion sitting in their cells. "Hello guys, long time no see." He said.
--------------
Ballade looked at his internal clock. His shift was over in a few minutes. "Finally. I'm so bored." He said to himself. He kept walking, realizing he wandered from his post. "Whatever, my shift is almost over anyway.." He thought.

Shorde was, admittedly, too relaxed on the stump. He had come here to fight, not sit around and be bored! Glancing through his helmet's grate, he saw Sword-Man slowly approaching. "Hey, Sword! Over here!" He slid up his helmet and waved, motioning the broadsword-wielding Robot over to him. "It's been a while, eh? I know there's not a great deal for us to say, but I've been a way for a while, and my friend and I here kind of need to catch up on the current state of affairs. We tried the city base first, but when we found a wall of Joes shooting at us there...well, we figured things weren't going so well. What can you tell us?"

Sword Man shrugged his shoulders. "I haven't received any orders. Thus, I am not entitled to head any action. The only interesting piece of information I have received is that they've called the 7th Rebellion back to our home planet- that includes your friends, Freeze Man and Cloud Man, as well as Slash Man."
