Ballade saw that his shift was over. "Yes!" He thought. He immediately thought to seek out Malware. Her last transmission came from on top of a nearby skyscraper. So he went inside and took the elevator up to the top. The elevator made a loud 'ding' noise as it reached it's destination and the doors creaked open.
-----------------
"Look I understand why you don't want to talk to me..." ProtoMan said to the Second Rebellion. "But look, we need your help. Look at us, we're in ruins. We barely have any man power at this point in time. I know you're loyal to Wily, but he is dangerous to himself and both Mobius and Earth. Coda, he is even more dangerous. And as crafty as Coda is, he is probably going to stab Wily in the back and take control of both worlds himself. So why don't you team up with us, to stop Wily and Coda, to prevent Coda from eliminating Wily." He explained to the robots.

"Chief? Aw, that's a shame," Shorde said, leaning back and trying to get relaxed. "I never got the chance to really rough him up like I wanted. That includes that scumbag guy that looked like a castle, too, though...Burst, right? Ah, I guess we win some and lose some." He looked up at the sky. "So everyone's standing around waiting for something to happen, huh...? Well, I'm not known for a great sense of patience. Hopefully we'll get something started soon."
---
Tide-Man watched as the Generals went off in their own directions. He didn't have anyone to follow—Tide-Man always went off to plan on his own. He went to his desk in the Coda quarters, where there were several digital figurines spread out on a hologram generator—Tide-Man's preferred method for team assembly. When a mission's factors were input, the machine would mull it over and tell Tide-Man what it thought of the teams he assembled from the holographic figurines. In a way, it made a nice digital consultant—it lacked a "Mobian" setting for terrain, but it would do. For a brief moment, he sat staring at the figurines, a faint look of amusement hidden beneath his faceplate: Bright, his lightbulb dramatically aglow; Fake, posed with his revolver ready to shoot; Fog and Sleet, holding hands and smiling; Roll, poised ready to stab someone. Then he got to work with the machine.

Sword Man nodded. "Apparently, there will be an attack scheduled soon. I'm not sure where it's going to be, however." He then looked over Shorde's head. "Where is your other sparing partner, by the way? I haven't seen her since we left to collect those emerald things."
---
Fake Man was walking past Tide Man's office when he noticed the hologram generator. He had always been slightly cautious around the Coda bots after the whole Kindle Man incident, but his interest was piqued. Looking to his sides, he asked the large water-based robot, "Permission to enter, general?"
---
Malware had already vacated the building. She was fed up with waiting, and decided to patrol to see if any Light robots had overstepped the boundaries. Maybe she'd get lucky and fight a Robot Master or two.
---
Most of the Second Rebellion robots were silent. Quick Man crossed his arms, Heat Man pouted, and Air Man stole a glance at Proto Man.

Flash Man broke the silence. "I refuse to leave. Whatever foolish excuse you conjure to win us over won't work on me." The others looked at each other. Finally, Heat Man stood up. "I'll help... I guess," he added, unsure. Quick Man put a hand on his shoulder. "I'll go with him too. We'll help you out in any way possible- but make sure to take out the override chips." Wood Man nodded. "I'm willing to work for Light as well. Beats sitting here all day."

Flash Man stared at them sullenly, but made no comment. The others seemed to be set on staying inside the cell.

ProtoMan looked at them. "Alright." He had already equipped their weapons just in case they tried to pull something. He opened the cell door.
---------------------------
Ballade looked at the empty rooftop. "You have got to be kidding me..." He said to himself. He went back down the elevator and walked out of the building.

"Other sparring partner...do you mean that Roll girl? I just had a match against her; last I saw, she was going back to her quarters to rest. Lemme tell you...in the month I've been gone, she's really had the chance to improve. Not enough to defeat me, perhaps, but definitely better. I'm glad you guys decided to stick with her."
---
"Granted," Tide-Man said, glancing up. "Good morning, officer," he said, offering a brief salute. "I'm just planning operations the same way Coda would—by himself, with a computer as his consultant. This device here factors in terrain, objective, team members, and it tells me how likely the team is to succeed based upon their weaponry, zeal, and track record. Droids get input through a keypad over here. You're actually a pretty useful soldier—despite the fact you have only one weapon, you dodge shots well, meaning you preserve yourself well; your Fake Revolver does fairly good amounts of damage and its shots travel quickly; and you're quick on your feet and fairly agile." Tide-Man stopped, reviewing his words, and sighed. "Man, listen to me ramble...I should probably be discussing this with other field generals, but they don't like me—and I'm almost positive they'd look down upon this device. Anyway...what did you come here to tell me, officer?"

Sword Man nodded. "She'll get better and better with practice." With that, he looked ahead of his partner. "I'm off to go look for Blade Man... he expressed interest in learning better sword techniques. I'll see you later." He walked down the hallway to find the pink and yellow robot.
---
Fake Man entered with a slight air of anticipation. "Oh, I've got no news for you, general. I just kind of get interested whenever they plan things like this- especially with machines like this too. I've always liked learning about new technology, and this is no exception. Thanks for the compliments, by the way." He looked with wide-eyed wonder at the holographic figures on the board, amazed at how many there were, then regained himself. "What are you generals planning, anywho?"

"Come on out, those who agreed to help." ProtoMan said. "I'm assuming they'd want you to go into the infirmary to get those overrides removed." ProtoMan continued.
----------
Ballade walked down the street, mumbling to himself in anger.

"Oh, well, you weren't supposed to know that yet, but...ah, what the heck. In hopes of building troops before our final storm, we're planning raids in the somewhat close bombed cities. We know Wily has droid storages stationed in both of them, and if we can accomplish what Heart did all over again, we can drastically increase our droid force and make the upcoming battle a lot easier. Rosters for the missions will be posted by this evening, and three days will be allotted for the missions to be completed."
---
In Coda's room, lines upon lines were drawn and redrawn across a paper battlefield. Being a programmer before a warmonger, he had a tendency to make his strategies so intricate, the opponent had no chance of comprehending them. "I should call her up, just to be safe." He reached over to another desk, and grabbed a small radio communicator he had fashioned from the scraps of the dead Dark-Men. It was fairly ordinary work, only up to Coda standard in that it was built from scrap parts, but it served his purpose just fine. He flicked the device on and spoke calmly and clearly, like he always did. "Malware...Malware...come in, Malware. It's Coda. I am calling on behalf of war preparations regarding the final storm of Monsteropolis. I know you crave action, and it is coming—sadly, not soon enough; Wily is always doing things the slow way. I had underestimated the value of throwing a fight earlier, but I think we may be able to use it to your advantage. You still have Ballade wrapped around your finger, correct? If you allow yourself to be captured early on in the invasion, Ballade should be sent into a frenzy over it—and every man who's spoken to Coda knows how powerful rage is. Would you be comfortable with something like that?"

Fake Man whistled. "Well, it's about time we started doing something. I was afraid Coda and Wily were going to attack Monsteropolis beforehand... at least we have a couple of robots there." Fake Man then let his eyes wander over to the computer housing the droids. "Which ones are we planning to bring and get anyway? Big guardians or smaller soldiers? I mean, obviously, the bigger firepower we can get, the better, but... it'll be tough bringing them back..."
---
Malware listened intently to the message. Pondering for a moment, she sent her reply. "Your idea is sound, master, but no matter how angry he gets- well, do you think he's strong enough? He's been defeated by Mega Man a couple of times-" Then her mind flashed back to the DOS robots, and Sword Man. Quickly shaking her head, she fixed her statement. "Yes, that would be optimal. I will see what I can do." She waited for another reply.
---
Quick Man rubbed his wrists, going over his newly equipped Quick Boomerang launchers. "Nice to have these back," he said, grinning. He and his brothers then headed down to the infirmary- Wood Man knew where it was, since he needed a couple of repairs after they captured him.

When they got down there, they found Heart Man standing over a robot. "We're here to get our override chips removed."
---
Blade Man was busy shining his sword. It was thin and light- not as huge as those used by Sword Man or that other Blade Man. More suited for quick strikes, he was getting better with it. He was practice swinging it when he heard footsteps behind him. "Ah, Sword Man. Nice to see you again."

The large 8th Rebellion robot nodded. "Come on, we've got a lot of work to do." The DOS bot jumped up from his seat, and went along with him.

ProtoMan looked at the remaining Robot Masters as he closed the cell. "If you want to save Wily from Coda, you must help us." He said. He then walked out.
---------
Ballade calmed down and retreated to a slow walk.

When the Second Rebellion walked in, Heart-Man was working on attaching the tornado rotors back to a downed Tornado-Man. "Yes, likely two more hours...managed to save time by installing a new oil vein system...should definitely be off the ground soon..." He did not even notice the Robots until they addressed him. "Oh, look, it's the Second Rebellion...did you enjoy pissing Roll off that one...?" he trailed off, his eyes betraying that he was obviously spaced out. "No, no, I don't have the energy to be sarcastic." A few quick operations later, the chips were removed. "You know, of all the Wily Robots I could choose to put on our side, you guys would have been one of my first choices. Glad to have you on our side."
---
"Well, with Gyro-Man still acting as Wily's eye in the sky, I think our missions will be noticed as they return, and we will meet some form of resistance. Taking any of the forces we can would be good, to handle said opposition—or perhaps we could set up a diversion with small units while the big units come in and unleash hell upon them. I also think we can expect to find some other obscure Robots in this place; the rest of the supposed 'Dreamwave Series' comes to mind."
---
Dr. Coda smiled. "Excellent. That is all for now." And the line went dead.
