Espeon's face lit up, though Umbreon didn't seem so thrilled. "I'm not sure that'd be saf-" She began, but Espeon cut her off. "What she means is, we'd be delighted to be brought along, Won't we, Meine Nachtara?" Espeon said. Umbreon began a retort, but Espeon cut her off with "Umbreon says 'yes.'" Umbreon grumbled a little, while Espeon beamed pleasantly. |

Parasect frowned, somewhat agitated that the other rescue team member refused to make conversation. "And I thought other rescue teams were supposed to be pleasant," he spat as he walked off. He clambered up the ladder, looking for new jobs. --- "Rhydon! You're OK!" a Magmar shouted before his eyes went from delight to concern. "Is that-" "Regice is critically injured, we need to get him medical help immediately. He was severly beaten by some otherworldly figure..." "What was his name? Do you even know it?" Rhydon looked uneasily at his teammates, then muttered, "...Deoxys. That was his name." Magmar looked puzzled, then called his team over as they lifted the injured legendary torward the nearest civilization. |

Lyte felt bad about the Umbreon's resentment--he could take them even if he made them angry, but he didn't want to do that--but according to the conversation, Espeon was the leader, and he listened to her. "Very well, then. You seem a little green, so we'll give you five minutes to decide what you want to bring with you. The trip through Murky Marsh isn't long, but you'll probably starve without anything...one Apple between the two of you should be enough. Meet us back at the entrance in five." Lyte immediately headed upstairs to wait, while Sparky continued on his path to Whisp. Deciding what to pack was easy--Team Illuminara needed nothing, so they took nothing. The only things in the bag were an Escape Orb, to give to the junior team in case they were hurt, and Lyte's torches, which no one would ever dare remove. Soon, the pair was outside as well, standing with Lyte and waiting for the team. |

A Victreebel, with his team of a Tangela and a Breloom, were just leaving the Guild, seemingly in an arguement. "...I'm sorry, the job description was on the bounty list when I woke up..." "Come on, dude, that was one of the biggest jobs posted up there!" "You think I don't know that!? Argh, you think I'm still so weak and puny-" "All right, settle down, it's fine. We know he's hiding in Murky Marsh at least..." "Yeah, but we don't know which floor!" "I remember the floor, it was... 17, I thought." "You dunderhead! Murky Marsh doesn't go that far down!" "I thought it did! Doesn't it continue through twenty-five floors?" "I can't remember... we haven't taken many bounty jobs there to begin with." The team continued to argue, with Victreebel still attempting to calm the other two's frayed nerves, as they headed down the road torwards town. |

Espeon and Umbreon got an Apple per each. Espeon got 5 Oran berries, and Umbreon packed her 50 Steel Thorns. The two, feeling ready for adventure, went ouside the Guild, and went to the other waiting team. Espeon was quite eager for adventure and it showed, but it didn't stop her from still keeping her signature grace, and even Umbreon seemed a little excited. |

Whisp was the first one to see the duo approaching. "Ah, Team...Team...did we catch your Team name? I don't think we did. Anyway, I'm glad you got here quick, we have a couple things for you." She handed the Espeon the Escape Orb, and Umbreon, a bag holding several large rocks. "We can't be held responsible if you get hurt this way, and I'd also like you to have these. They're 20 Gravelerocks; strange stones, I think they're magical. No matter how weakly you throw it, or how tough the Pokemon you throw it at is, it always hurts the exact same amount. Since you two are new, I think you should try them--after all, those Silver Spikes rely on your strength to hit hard." It was then that Sparky ran back to Lyte for a report; no one had even noticed he'd left. "Trouble, sir--another Team is after Swampert as well, without the mission and everything." Lyte only raised an eyebrow--this was a somewhat serious complication, but he wasn't too worried. "So we'll have to get there first. After all, Swampert will likely prove to be too much for them--and only he with the guts gets the goods. Move out, team!" Team Illuminara went as quickly as they could towards Murky Marsh, hoping their swift feet would carry them to Swampert first. Mostly saving their breaths for running, the Team stopped speaking in order to increase their speed. |

Espeon and Umbreon took the items, and followed the team. "We're team Polarity, by the by." Espeon said, making chit-chat. Umbreon, like clockwork, was irritated instantly. "Oh, quit it, Meine Nachtara." Espeon said playfully, giggling. Umbreon seemed to calm down a bit after Espeon giggled, and even smiled a little. |

Victreebel and the others momentarily stopped their discussion when they heard the tramping feet of a Charizard behind them. "What in the world are they running from?" Breloom wondered out loud. "I bet they're the ones after our bounty in Murky Marsh! I told you you should've brought that job description- Vigoroth is a pretty high bounty at 2,500, being one of Swampert's lieutenants!" "All right, so I goofed up! Jeez, cut me some slack! It's only one job, anyway!" "Yeah- a huge job! And because of your goof-up, we're missing it!" Victreebel whapped them in the back of their heads with a firm Vine Whip, silencing them. "Enough! Arguing is not going to get us to Vigoroth faster! Officer Amoongus put that job up for a high-ranking team, like us, and we are not going to let him down. If you two would stop your darned arguing, just maybe we'd be able to beat these guys to the punch! Come on, they're still a long way off... Let's get moving already!" The team started to dash torwards town heading for the western exit- the main path where Murky Marsh was located. Edited by Magnet Dood, Jun 26 2012, 11:19 PM.

(I'm going to take the liberty of issuing a short timeskip here, because let's face it--going through the dungeon floor-by-floor is boring.) It didn't take long for Team Illuminara to reach Murky Marsh, and it was an easy walk-through. Mudkips and Woopers tried to attack them, but Lyte knocked them away with a couple punches and walked off any injuries he received. Once, a Muk rose out of the stagnant waters and jump-scared the group, but Lyte remained resolute and knocked it out cold with a DragonBreath. That must have been a signal to the rest of Murky Marsh that Team Illuminara was tough, because things got pretty quiet after that. "Eat while you walk," Sparky told Team Polarity as they stopped to bite into their apples, "you'll save time that way." Before long, the group reached the barrier between sectors 15 and 16. Here, Lyte paused to light a torch from his tail fire and affix it to a wall, but unusually, he spoke to the duo behind him. "We're getting close," he said, "and for your safety I ask that you stay away from Swampert. If he decides to attack you and corners you, fight back with everything you have. If one of you faints, get out of there. Okay? Okay." Without waiting for Team Polarity to respond to him, Lyte proceeded into sector 16, with Sparky and Whisp following single-file behind him. Espeon and Umbreon nodded, and followed. The whole mission, they weren't really the victim of any attacks, so they were both ready, just in case. Espeon was a little worried for her and Umbreon's safety, but was sure that they'd be okay. Umbreon was cautious, understandably. |

Victreebel and his team were making fair progress as well. Due to them being the Grass type, they had no trouble defeating the numerous Water, Rock, and Ground types scattered throughout Murky Marsh. They had just reached the floor Team Illuminara was on, finding a torch at the stairs. "Crud, he's already there!" Breloom moaned. "That doesn't mean he found them, you know," Victreebel assured him. "Let's go- maybe we'll be able to catch him first." They reached the next room, looking out for the next set of stairs to descend. As they were walking, Victreebel stopped the team. "Do you hear that? Something's coming from the marsh..." he said, looking to the pool at his left. A giant splash roared from the swamp as Swampert appeared, landing right in front of Victreebel. "So you're the bounty team, huh?" Swampert rumbled, his fists clenched. Victreebel was shocked to find that this infamous criminal was staring him down. He shook off the feeling, and responded with authority- "That's right, we are. We're taking you in, Swampert, so come quietly!" "You think I'm gonna listen to a plant?" Swampert countered, glaring at the team's leader. "You've got guts, kid- I don't like guts." He grabbed Victreebel with two arms by his vine, and swung him around, knocking Tangela and Breloom backwards. He let go of the vine, sending Victreebel crashing into the marsh. Breloom and Tangela were furious despite their fear, and fired off Razor Leaf after Razor Leaf at their opponent. Swampert winced as the doubly super-effective move connected with his back, and he charged torwards the two. Victreebel was sloshing in the water for a while until he managed to find something to pull himself out. The water did give him a little extra nutrients for his Grass attacks, but he decided on something else- he used Sunny Day, instantly flashing a bright light upon the whole floor of the dungeon. Swampert noticed this too, and dove into the marsh next to him. Victreebel went over there, and fired two Solarbeams into the water. Neither connected. "Drat, we lost him!" Breloom muttered. He and Tangela had recieved damage from taking a huge hit from Swampert's Double-Edge. "We were so close, too..." "He wasn't our target anyway," Victreebel reminded him. He was badly bruised and hurt. "I don't know if we'll have enough strength to battle Vigoroth now... Did either of you pack Oran Berries?" Tangela nodded, pulling out three. They ate theirs quickly, hoping to heal the damage they recieved, and headed onwards, praying they wouldn't run into Swampert again. |

(Wait, what? So, am I being Swampert here or are you?) Lyte suddenly blinked his eyes--a couple times in surprise, then a few more as he adjusted to the light. "Someone just used Sunny Day," he explained to the greener Team, "and that gives all Fire-based moves more attack power. We'd better hurry and reach our bounty before it wears off. Sparky, go scout ahead and find the stairs to sector 17!" Sparky nodded, and ran off with the speed of multiple Agilities. It took no more than thirty seconds for him to return, announcing that he had found it. Soon, the party of five was gathered at the stairs. Knowing that Swampert would likely be waiting at the bottom for them, Whisp devised her plan before going down. "Okay. This guy's got type advantages on two of us, so this doesn't look great, but I've got a plan. Sparky, you use Agility and run circles around him--no thunder attacks; he'll just absorb them. Keep him confused, sneak in a couple Quick Attacks if you can, but mostly distract him so that Hothead can move in and hold him in place. Once you accomplish that, rough him up as you like. I'll emerge from the wall shortly with an Energy Ball to finish the job. All clear?!" The Team nodded, and began walking down the stairs. As Lyte affixed a torch to a wall, he looked back at Team Polarity and simply nodded before continuing down to the floor where their outlaw was waiting... |

(I took him for the time being just to make the fight go faster. You can be him if you'd like.) "Victreebel, I suggest we just leave... I'm tired..." Tangela moaned. Victreebel shook his head, resolute in finding Vigoroth. "We're going to catch him, and we aren't leaving until we nab him," he muttered, looking around for the stairs. He suddenly stopped the team, hearing large, heavy footsteps coming from a hallway in front of them. "It's gotta be Swampert," he whispered to his team. "What are we supposed to do?" Breloom wailed in discontent. "... I'm gonna snipe him," Victreebel groweld, taking cover behind a corner. "When I fire, back up my Solar Beam with a bunch of Razor Leafs. Got it?" "Yeah," the two replied. Victreebel stood up from his squatting position, and took a quick look at the approaching Pokemon. "Wait, hold your fire- It's a Charizard." The team waved to them to show they were friendlies, and headed down the next hall. |

Team Polarity continued to follow the experienced team. Both Espeon and Umbreon liked overhearing the battle plan, as it gave them insight on basic strategy. The two began whispering to each other in another language, discussing what they heard, among other things. |

A few moments later, another team of three came up behind Team Illuminara. Being far too focused for speech, Lyte simply nodded at them. I bet one of those guys is to thank for using Sunny Day, he thought, as he added a smile to his nod. Finding no walls for her to hide in, Whisp decided to settle for hovering over the swampy waters. Sparky took his position in the middle of the room, and Lyte waited off to the side. Everything was perfectly laid out for the group to take out Swampert--now all they had to do was wait for him to show up. Which was, of course, when things went haywire. Suddenly, Whisp felt a strong hand grab hold of her, dragging her into the marsh. She desperately fought against it, but it pulled her in in a couple seconds. Between panic and instinct to call to her teammates, Whisp lost air quickly, and soon fainted. Moments later, Whisp resurfaced--or, rather, her unconscious body did. Her teammates were shocked by her sudden defeat, but before they could react, something else emerged beside her. The figure was covered in aquatic foliage, but Lyte could spot his target anywhere. "Swampert. Stick to the plan! We'll just have to finish him off ourselves!" Sparky nodded and charged his Agility at once. Running straight at his target, he delivered one speedy punch and then retreated. "Ugh, two Teams in one day...why can't you just leave me alone?" Swampert attempted to swat Sparky away, but it was akin to an Ursarang trying to fight a swarm of Beedrill--it just didn't work, the target was too swift. He continued to get scraped by Sparky's swift punches and Quick Attacks. After he narrowly dodged a supporting Flamethrower from Lyte, Swampert decided he was done. "Enough playing around," he said as he raised his arms into the air, "it's time I finish you both off!" He slammed both of his fists into the ground, sending out powerful shockwaves that split the ground beneath them. "Eaaaaarthquaaaaake!" The super-effective move tore through both standing members of Team Illuminara. Sparky stumbled, tripped, and fell as pain skittered all throughout him. The last thought he had before fainting was that he hoped Team Polarity was okay. Lyte, however, had been hit with many an Earthquake before, and managed to stay on his feet somehow. Though his vitality dwindled, he wasn't about to let this Outlaw get away--and his well-being was the last one on his mind right now. "You hurt Sparky," Lyte growled as he cracked his knuckles, "and nobody but nobody hurts Sparky! That's it, pal, are you ready to get Torched?!" Swampert could have just shot off another Earthquake to finish off the Charizard, but instead he entertained the idea. "Oh, don't make me laugh," he spat as he walked towards him, "a Fire-type move would do you just about as much good as throwing a Stick. How's about you pick up your fallen comrades and just run off." Lyte's only response was "not happening." Seeing that Swampert wouldn't go quietly, it was time for his signature move--The Torch. Inhaling deeply, as if he was going to shoot off a fire attack, he surprised his enemy by shooting off a Smokescreen. While they were blinded and trying to wave away the smoke, he grabbed hold of them and took another deep breath. This one, however, was exactly what it promised. The Fire Blast collided with Swampert viciously, burning a star-shaped pattern into the floor and shooting a pillar of flame so high it could be seen on the floor above him. When the attack was finished, Swampert fell over, fainted and with most of his water evaporated. "Always works." Lyte quietly gathered up his fallen companions and his bounty, then reached into his bag to pull out his Team Badge. The Badges were all made of a common magical rock, but they were only fueled by good deeds. Currently, the Badge was glowing, which meant it had enough of a charge to warp Team Illuminara back to Stoutland Guild. As he raised it into the air, he waved to Team Polarity. "That's how it's done, kiddies...sorry if that last one scorched you. Anyways, see you back at base!" As soon as he was done speaking, the group warped away. Espeon and Umbreon were roughed up by the Earthquake, but were otherwise fine. Espeon used her own team badge to teleport back to the base. Once back, they checked over each other's injuries, to make sure they were fine. Once they did that, they began walking back towards base, Espeon feeding Umbreon and herself an Oran berry to heal their minor wounds. |

(I guess it's my turn? I can't tell.) Lyte warped down to the Mission Boards in Stoutland Guild, much to the surprise of any teams that were there. "Oh, almost forgot," he said to himself more than anyone, and he quickly restrained Swampert's unconscious body with a pair of Outlaw Handcuffs. Seeing that there was no one waiting for them here, Lyte quietly took a seat, waiting for the Police Chief to arrive. "They're usually waiting for us, and they aren't shocked to see us...I wonder why they're not here yet." |

(No, technically it's mine- I just forgot.) Victreebel and his team felt the Earthquake, and he was greatly damaged. Being a Poison type, the Ground type move caused him major damage. "Urgh... I'm... too weak..." he moaned, barely able to move. His teammates also took the blast, and were rather injured as well. All three fell to the ground in exhaustion and pain. "We... we have to cancel..." Victreebel muttered as he pulled out his badge. The entire team was filled with a great light, and they were warped back to base. |

Espeon and Umbreon proceeded into the base, climbing down to the Mission Boards, as Umbreon called them. "We should put our new knowledge to use, and do a bounty mission." Umbreon suggested. Espeon sort of shrugged, and said, "If you wish, meine Nachtara." Umbreon went over to the bounty board, and found one guy, a simple Krabby, that seemed pretty harmless. "'Krabby, wanted for petty theft'" Umbreon read outloud, "Seems easy enough." "Alright then. Let's bring him to justice." Espeon replied, almost but not quite enthusiastic. Bounties were definitally Umbreon's specialty, and she'd be in charge for this mission. "Where is the 'scoundrel'?" Espeon asked, and Umbreon replied, "In th... oh, hey, the Moonlit woods. That's where we met." Espeon frowned a bit. "Um... Are you sure that it would be safe?" Espeon asked, seemingly concerned. Umbreon smiled and shook her head, and answered, "Meine Psiona, it's not going to be an issue. It's probably not going to attack us when it's light." |

Victreebel and his team had plopped onto their beds in their room right away, exhausted and weakened. "Oh, Arceus, that was just bad," Breloom moaned. Victreebel nodded. "Ungh... I didn't think a measly Earthquake could spread so far and do so much. I knew we should've taken down Swampert while we had the chance." He quietly mumbled to himself until he saw a small notification sitting on the floor, with the title: "Rock Rumblers return with critically injured Regice". He swiped the notification from the floor. "Rock Rumblers is back- and they've got company..." he said to his teammates who quickly ran to his side, eager to see the news. The paper read, "Rhydon and his teammates have returned after disappearing for two days, and they've brought with them the guardian of the northern artic circle area in dire medical condition. Regice, according to Team Rock Rumblers, was battling a strange orange figure, calling itself Deoxys. The team encountered Deoxys attempting to kill the Legendary, until they managed to intervene. Said Rhydon: "It appeared to use some sort of psychic power to warp us and Regice back into the meteor hole we inspected. We had to lift Regice out of the hole, and then we needed to find a hospital as fast as possible." "Regice is currently in stable condition, but is worried that the other three Regis- Regirock, Registeel, and Regiggigas- will meet a similar fate. However, two of them have been warned of the danger, and are currently making preparations to stop this Deoxys in his tracks. They only hope this news will reach Regiggigas in time." Victreebel and his team all knew they were the first to retire, but they kept the news to themselves- everyone else would find out eventually. --- Team Electrostriker whizzed into the guild, with their target bagged. "Keeping up my perfect record! That's 43 for me, and..." As if on cue, Arbok and his team of a Toxicroak and an Aridos walked in, with their bounty, a Murkow, taken in. "43 for me. Still keeping it going, Electrode." "Heh, not for long, I bet." The two smirked at each other before a loud shout was heard. "MOVE IN, AND PICK 'EM UP!" Three Whismurs tromped into the guild, and began to take away the criminals. Their chief walked in- Officer Exploud. "GOOD WORK, YOU TWO. YOU ALWAYS BAG YOUR JOBS!" he adressed Arbok and Electrode. "AND... GREAT SCOT! TEAM ILLUMINARIA! WELL, WELL, WELL, I WOULD'VE NEVER GUESSED TO SEE YOU THREE HERE- AND WITH SWAMPERT, TO BOOT! I'LL TAKE HIM OFF YOUR HANDS." He paid the three teams their allotted amount, and hauled the three criminals out. |
