"Aw, it was nothing," the Team said with a bow. The jolt of teleportation had slapped some consciousness into Lyte's teammates, and although they were still injured badly, they were at least able to stand. "He nearly got us, but we got him back. It was no trouble, really!" Team Illuminara happily accepted the reward--five thousand Poké, along with a Green Gummi that Lyte almost immediately handed to Sparky--while making a strong attempt to block out their hearing, for fear that Police Chief Exploud would make them lose it. "It's been our pleasure to take out a renowned criminal!" Whisp melted through the floor to deliver the Guild's customary amount of 2,500 Poké, while Lyte carried Sparky down to the bottom floor, to their guest room to rest. It would be a few minutes before dinner was ready. "Good work today, Sparky," Lyte said to his barely conscious teammate. "You did a fine job...getting to the outlaw, I mean. You deserve a good nap. I know that Yellows are your favorite, so if you want to wait, you could try stirring it in with your dinner." Carefully laying down his teammate in the straw bed, it was then that his foot brushed by a notice on the floor. "Hello, what's this?" Picking it up and reading the title, he looked up and smiled before continuing. "...Thanks, Arceus." |

"So... What will we need for this mission?" Espeon asked Umbreon, who replied, "Well, we still got everything from the previous outing. I think we should be fine." Espeon nodded. "We'll get going tomorrow." Umbreon said. |

Electrode and his team had returned to their rooms when Electabuzz noticed the note. "Well, looks like Rock Rumblers is back, safe and sound... But I can't say the same for their companion. Check it out, guys." Magneton and Electrode looked it over. "Galloping Rapidashes! Regice is critically injured? Man, that's not good..." Arbok peeked his head in. "Hey, Electrode, did you hear? Overgrowth is out of the race." "W-What? Victreebel is out? But that broke his record! He had 42 bounties just like us!" "Which means, we're the only ones left," he added with a smirk. Electrode nodded. "Right. Trust me, I'm gonna be the last one standing! I'll be the winner this time!" "Heh, good luck, pal!" he said as he slithered off. Electrode smiled, but then looked concerned for his other friend. "It's too bad they're out..." he remarked sadly. Focusing on the news at hand, however, he looked back at the flyer, and read the rest. --- Sandslash and Team Dig-Duggers returned from their long mission. They had successfully rescued a baby Phanpy from the ruthless Scorching Sands Gulch. "Gee whiz, that took a while..." remarked Onix, out of steam from exploring. They retired to their room, where they all saw the flyer. Dugtrio was the first to reply. "How bittersweet. They returned, but with a half-dead legendary... Hope Regice can shake it off," he remarked. The other two only looked at each other. |

It was only a few minutes later that Whisp rose from the floor, visibly exhausted between her injuries and the effort of phasing through all the solid objects. Before she laid down to sleep off her wounds, though, Lyte caught her out of the corner of his eye. "You should read this," he said quietly, as he handed the paper to her. She read silently, feeling mixed emotions throughout the article. When she finished, she silently set it down beside her bed, and looked up at Lyte. "Well, I'm sure you realize what we have to do now." Lyte might have known what Whisp wanted to do, but he didn't want to embarrass himself by guessing wrong. Instead, he simply offered a shrug to her, to which she replied with a sigh. "We've got to go find Regigigas and warn him. I know you were really excited to go hunting for Victini, but this is more important...I'm sure you understand why." "I understand, sure enough, but how are we going to find him? None of the higher-ranked teams have been able to, and the only way to know where he is for sure is to gather all three of the other Regis..." "Then I suggest we get started gathering." "Are you sure about this?" Sparky sat up in his bed, rubbing his eyes. "Shouldn't we have to fight a few more tough normal Pokemon before we start hunting for Legendaries?" Whisp only nodded at him. "I know it's a lot of work, but we've got to do this! There are a couple hours before dinner. Lyte and I will stay here, see if we can't hear anything about any Regi's whereabouts from the grape vine. You sprint around and see if you can't find where Regice is being taken care of." Sparky only saluted to his mission organizer, and ran off. It wasn't until at least five minutes later that Lyte and Whisp emerged from their room. |

As soon as Sparky dashed up the ladder, a somewhat familiar face met him. "Ah, if it isn't the Illuminara team member- again. I'm going to assume you won't brush past me this time? I was hoping we could try this again, so... Name's Parasect." It was Parasect, frowning at the Electric Pokemon. "I'm certain you've heard of the whole Regice thing, hmm? I've learned he's being moved to a care unit right at our hospital- exciting, no? It's not every day we have a Legendary Pokemon being treated here... Local sources also note that this... Deoxys thing will probably aim for Registeel next. Says strategically that he'll want to take out the three Regis before taking on their head honcho. Eh, what do you think of them?" --- Electrode and Magneton had whizzed through the halls, running into Team Illuminara on the way upstairs. "Hiya, guys! Err, well, guy and girl... You get what I mean..." Magneton mumbled. "I guess you heard about Regice, too. Wonder if Articuno or Suicune or another legendary might take his place. Anyway, we thought you might, uh... You might be going to help them?" Electrode asked. "Call it the hero's priorities clause, if you will. Being that you're the only capable team here that will go after some Legendaries, we figured, maybe you'd be considering it." Magneton then looked from side to side. "To be honest, though, there's this giant uproar about how a bunch of lower-level teams are talking about setting out to tell Regiggigas himself. We figured we might as well tell you guys what we know before they get themselves killed." "If so, we've got info on Registeel's whereabouts- if you'd like to know. He's actually not too far from here, residing in Metaltech Ruins. It's some old, dilapitated factory thing. I guess he's in his element there. Unfortunately, we don't know much about Regirock, and we don't know where Regice is being treated, but as soon as we get the info, we'll tell you." |

Sparky nearly bulldozed right through Parasect, but his strong sense of humanity (Pokemonity?) made him lock up like an emergency brake. Breathing heavily for a few seconds, he eventually climbed up the ladder to face them. "You know...you're the greatest at catching me when I'm busy." "Thanks for the info; actually, I was just about to scout out where Regice was. You just saved me a heap of time." Sparky extended one hand to the Parasect, hoping to dispel that unpleasant, antisocial tone in his voice. "You seem to be the only one that hasn't greeted us with shock or delight...seems to indicate that you don't want an autograph. Well, Parasect, I doubt you stopped me just to pass along some information--is there anything I can help you with?" --- "...Oh...Well, every Legendary has a place in this world...and I'm pretty sure that those are just as busy with their own jobs..." Whisp shrugged with her two shadowy tendrils. "...Not that I would know firsthand...but I read about Legendaries all the time..." Seeing that she was still exhausted from nearly drowning, Lyte stepped in to converse in Whisp's place. "Well, we're in no position to stop people from trying to help. If we see them, we'll be sure to push them in the right direction. Who knows? Maybe there's a really great team hiding in the woodwork...like that one in the storybooks, that saved this entire world from the meteor. "Now...Registeel? That's great news. We'll ship out soon to guard it personally from this freak of nature, 'Deoxys.' What would be really great, though, is if we could warn the big one first--I guess the situation is the same as before, though." Suddenly, Lyte raised one eyebrow, and looked closely at Electrode. "...It is, right? Nobody knows where Regigigas is?" |

Magneton shrugged. "There's no one at all in the guild... Maybe you could ask around town. Bigshot Rescue Teams cruise in here from time to time. I'm sure that if you found one, at least one of them might know where he'd be..." "And, well, there's her, too," Electrode cut in. Magneton looked incredolous. "What, the crazy lady that lives up on the ridge? No, no, don't waste your time with her, she's all baloney." Electrode glared at his teammate. "They're looking for answers and she might have them!" He looked back at Lyte. "We have a town... sage, if you will. Her name is Mienshao, and she lives up on the ridge. She's pretty nice and very smart, so if you can't find the info in town, I'd try her. She knows a whole lot about this world, I'll tell you that much. Hope you find what you're looking for. We'd better join the conversation upstairs." The two headed into the elevator and disappeared. --- "Ah, perhaps you might. You wouldn't happen to know where a certain Mushgrowth Forest is, hmm? It's known to house very rare mushrooms, so you can imagine why I'm interested..." Parasect said, grinning slyly. "Any idea where it might be?" |

Sparky squinted at Parasect, as if doing so would display his true intention. His voice still had the tone of malice, and he had no way of telling exactly why they would want to collect mushrooms. With no way to tell, though, he decided there was no reason to withhold the information. "It's about fifteen walking minutes Southeast from Sapphire Cave. Careful, though--Mushgrowth Woods can house some very freakish creatures." Giving one last smile to Parasect, Sparky continued his way up the ladders. --- Lyte and Whisp looked at each other. Normally, choices weren't so bad, but Team Illuminara liked to stick together if they could. "You look tired...I'll walk around town, you go visit the sage. After all, they're only one person." The ghost stifled a yawn as she nodded. Lyte turned back to the Guild members, only to find that they had already left. "Well, come on, daylight's a burnin'." Carefully gripping the ladder, he began to hoist himself up, while Whisp just sighed and flew straight upwards. Flying high above the Guild, she quickly sighted the mountain ridge that Electrode had referred to. Summoning the strength she had, she bolted towards what she could only guess would be Sage Meinshao's humble home. |

"Ah, thank you for your help, sir. I'll be sure to return with more mushrooms for my collection. See you around," Parasect said, smiling slyly. "Hmmhmm... As soon as I hit the forest, I'll be able to gather up more of those mushrooms, and finally complete my plan... I'll set out tommorrow. I'll go inform my team," he said, rubbing his claws together as he walked away. --- Mienshao was sitting cross-legged, overlooking the large ocean that surrounded the bluff she lived on. Behind her was the small notification on Regice's injuries. Her eyes were focused straight on the ocean, seemingly staring at a certain point a long way off. |

Sparky watched as Parasect walked away, still wondering what he could be up to. Even with his superior hearing, there was no way he could pick up what they were saying. "That guy isn't like the others...I've got to remember to keep an eye on him. Meanwhile...I've got a job of my own to do." However, stopping to chat had removed his Agilities, and he figured using them again would be unsafe now. Figuring that someone else may stop him before he left the Guild, he walked the rest of the way through. --- Whisp continued flying straight forward, barely paying attention to her surroundings. She would have flown right through the mountainside had she not spotted the bright purple creature looking out over the ocean. Barely screeching to a halt in time, she slowly floated back down behind her. Hovering along the pathway like any respectful Ghost would, Whisp eventually came to the spot she had seen from above. Moving beside the sage, she spent a brief moment staring out to sea with her. "You know," she said once the moment had passed, "this probably sounds strange coming from a Ghost Pokemon, but I really like sunsets. I like the way the water gets all shimmery, and sometimes it changes colors. It makes me think about how big this world is, and all the events that could happen the next day--or during the night." Though Electrode had told her that she was nutty, Whisp was still going to be as polite to Mienshao as she could. She figured sharing a philosophical excerpt like that would be a good way to start. Finally turning to look at them, she smiled. "I'm Whisp, of Expedition Team Illuminara. Is it safe to assume that you are the Sage, Mienshao?" --- Minutes later, Lyte strode into town. He made the assumption that other high-ranking teams would identify him on sight, so instead of actively looking for them, he spent some time looking around the small town. For the most part, it looked like any other town--a Bank, an Item Storage, and the cookie-cutter Keckleon Shop--but Lyte had visited more than enough towns to know that there was something different about each one. Silently pondering what that might be here to himself, he continued looking around, seemingly searching for this town's Dojo. |

"Ah, yes, I do enjoy sunsets myself- very pretty. I am the sage you seek. I am aware you seek knowledge on Regiggigas' location." She stood up, whispered, "We shall talk again soon" to the spot on the ocean, and looked at the ghost next to her. "I was afraid that this would be coming soon enough... This Deoxys figure is definitely a threat to all Pokemon. I wonder why it would target Regice so soon, however... It doesn't seem right, Regice is one of the stronger ice guardians. Ah, well, can't be helped, I suppose." "Still, there is grave danger in store for the Pokemon World... I forsee tragedy, misfortune, strife... and pain. I have seen this coming for years, but never would I have imagined it in my lifetime. Very, very bad times are coming..." Mienshao then went into her small home, and checked on her soup being made. Taking out the fire, she took a sip. "Mmmm... delightful. Anyway, Regiggigas. I believe someone in town will have your answer, and he'll be delighted to see you and your friends. Now, if you'll excuse me, I must prepare a meal for my guests this evening." --- A Blastoise and his two teammates, a Poliwrath and a Tentacruel, had entered the small town. "All right, guys, gather up the supplies from the store. Remember, Big Apples, Sitrus Berries, and perhaps some stat boosters. Anything you see fit-" He then peered through the crowd, finding a large, red Pokemon with wings. "Well, well, well, if it isn't Lyte the Charizard! Look over there, fellas, look!" The two peered over and saw Lyte as well. "Go get the supplies, guys, I'll go talk to Lyte." Blastoise moved through the crowd, and clamped Lyte's shoulder. "Remember me, pal? Man, I haven't seen you in months! Nice to see you again, Lyte! Me and Team Flash Flood are going over to find Regiggigas, after Regice was clobbered by this Deoxys dude..." Poliwrath and Tentacruel came over, too. "Yeah, we're headed over to Solitude Cave- it's where he's supposed to be," Poliwrath told him. "Say, where's Whisp and Sparky? They around?" |

Whisp wasn't surprised by how much the sage already knew. She knew she had her ways, and being a Ghost didn't help her hide anything. The only time she stopped Mienshao to speak herself was to say, "hey, the way I see it, you can't complain about the world unless you're active enough to change it." Once she was finished, she bowed her head in respect, nearly letting her witch's hat fall off her head. "Thank you for the assistance, Mienshao. I appreciate all your help. By the way, whatever guests you must have will be very lucky to partake in such a delicious-smelling meal." As Whisp flew down towards the town, she couldn't help but think to yourself. You know, for being "all baloney," she wasn't very nutty. --- "How could I forget a Team that actually knows my real name! Seriously, guys, quiet down, my nickname is Hothead now!" Lyte high-fived Blastoise, happy to see an old friend. "And...man, you actually know where Regigigas is?! You always were able to trump me just barely...I was looking around for someone who knew! Well, Whisp is checking out the town sage to see if she knows where the Regi King is, and Sparky...well...he's gone to check on Regice in the hospital." It was then that Whisp flew in on the scene. "Speak of the devil! We were just talking about you." She didn't say anything, but she did nod in respect to the leader of Team Flashflood. "So, what are you guys thinking about doing? A warning, or a full-out guard? We were thinking of going to warn him, then coming back to Registeel to guard him...word on the street is, he's the next target. What do you think?" |

"Oh, we've got the dirt on most of 'em now, L- Hothead. That'll be hard to remember..." Blastoise said with a smirk. "We were going to ship out tommorrow morning, then get word on whether he wanted us there or not. If not, we'd move on to Regirock. And if that failed..." Tentacruel interrupted. "We figured someone would be guarding Registeel, so we didn't really consider it much. We're hoping that these teams will be able to stop this guy at the Regis, but if not... Well, we'll be in for a wild ride. Hopefully one of us can stop this demon..." "Heh, I bet five gummies that we'll be the guy to stop him," Blastoise taunted at his teammate. Poliwrath joined in. "Ten." "That'll be 45 IQ points outta your brain, Poliwrath," he chuckled. "But you're on, bet's at ten. Anyone wanna raise it 15?" "Anyway, we'll be heading out tommorrow, as mentioned earlier, so... perhaps you'd like to join us?" Poliwrath questioned. "We always appreciate good company, and you're the best we know." |

"Guys, stop taking bets," Whisp finally spoke up. "This is serious business! This freak of nature is making attempts on Legendaries' heads, and here we are taking bets on who's going to kill him?! Get your heads out of the clouds, we're all going to need to work together if we want half a chance of killing him at all!" "Much as I wish we could goof around, we've got to stay serious, guys," Lyte said with a nod. "This thing is dangerous, and if we aren't careful, it'll take our heads and the guys we're trying to guard's." "Well, there'll most definitely be someone guarding Registeel, but...they won't be the most desirable guards, probably. Stoutland Guild overlooks this town, see, and more than a few teams have got it into their heads to get involved in this mess. Not my job to keep them out of it...besides, it can't be my fault if they get hurt that way. Which is a good thing, because against this foe, I can only guess they'll get themselves hurt. In any case...I guess we should come along. Safety in numbers and all." --- Sparky dashed into the hospital, taking a brief moment to look around. By now, the thought had crossed his mind that he wouldn't be able to see the recovering Legendary at all. He sighed at the thought; he didn't like being bad news, but there was always the possibility that his teammates had had better luck. Bounding up to the Blissey at the front desk, he explained himself rather flatly: "May I please see Regice? It's on important business." |

Blastoise was about to interrupt with "oh, lighten up," but after hearing Lyte's interjection, he sobered up immediately. "Yeah, sorry about that... We're just trying to keep a positive spin on this. We know how serious this thing is, of course we do. But we don't want to become all distraught about it." "Stoutland Guild?" Tentacruel questioned. "Guild members will try to protect a Legendary? They'll get themselves killed just trying!" "Now, now, Tentacruel, let's calm down... We got word that Stratoskimmers was going to protect him. You know, Pidgeot's team? At least, I think that's where he was going... Guild members can knock themselves out, though- Metaltech is rather close to here." "It's great you agreed to come with us, though. How about we meet up right back here at seven sharp- Solitude Cavern is a long way down... Anyway, we'd better gather up some of those supplies we came in for. Soon as we're finished, we'll be heading back down to the expedition team camp outside of town." Blastoise then raised an eyebrow. "You have heard that they set up the base camp east of here, right? They've got a ton of teams there, y'know- that's where I learned about Pidgeot's destination." --- "Oh, yes, certainly. He's right down the hall, last room on your left. Careful, though, he might be asleep," the Blissey informed after pointing out the instructions. |

Whisp remained silent. Being a dead Pokemon made her grimmer than others, and although it had been a while since she'd found a big haunt, she was fairly certain she was serious even amongst her kind. Taking note of her silence, Lyte ended the conversation. "We've already got lodgings at the Guild, and it would be downright rude to leave so soon. Make the expedition base aware of our presence, though...and we'll see you tomorrow!" The duo walked away together, running errands through the town. They deposited their reward from the bounty at the town's Bank, ran by the Keckleon Shop (Though most of the goods had been bought by Team Flashflood), and left a small gift for the town's Dojo Master. Once they were finished with everything they typically did in a town, they jogged the distance back to Stoutland Guild, wondering just how long it would actually be before dinner. --- "Thank you," Sparky said with a bow before quietly proceeding down the hallway. Keeping his eyes on the left side, he quickly realized that this wall was just as blank as many others he'd seen before. He quickly reached Regice's room, suddenly wondering just what he would say to a Legendary Pokemon. "Hey, Regice, I know you're a living entity of ice, but I need you to drop your duties and help my friends find your boss that you could quite possibly hate!" Sparky groaned to himself, knowing how moronic he would sound. I'll just have to wing it, he thought to himself as he knocked and quietly opened the door. (Sorry for putting this off so long.) Regice had opened his eyes at the sound of a creaking door. "Who enters?" the Legendary uttered in a small voice. It was hard trying to sound authoritive when injured. "What buisness have you for me?" --- Parasect had went down to his team quarterroom, where his teammates were waiting. "Beedrill, Pinsir, Venomoth, we've found it. Mushgrowth Forest." "Oh, yeah, that place you keep blubbering about. What's so special about that place, again?" Pinsir inquired boredly. "It houses many rare mushrooms- and riches, as well. Not only that, but there's supposed to be a large amount of items lying around. All of that time, and it's just been under our noses." "You mean it was near here the entire time?" Beedrill asked. "Yes, quite near. It's a just a bit further from Sapphire Cave." "Fine, then, we'll set out tommorrow. Hopefully we'll see your 'rare mushrooms' or whatever," Pinsir asked as he headed out. Parasect nodded. "Yes. Hopefully, we will." |

Sparky became nervous almost immediately when he heard Regice's voice. Intimidating, cold, and machine-like, it seemed intimidating even when it wasn't trying to. "W--well, sir..." Sparky quickly stopped himself, and, recollecting, he tried again. "I'm Sparky, of Team Illuminara, and we've just caught word of Deoxys and his plot to take out you and your siblings. We would like to do our part by finding Regigigas and warning him of the oncoming attack...but according to our coordinator's notes on Legendaries, we won't be able to reach him without at least one of you's help." "I know you're injured, but it would be a big help if you could come along and help..." Sparky stood nervously, almost certain that he would be rejected. |

"Hmmmmm... In this condition I am in no use to to you, Sparky. I'd be ripped to shreds in mere minutes with all of my energy exhausted. I'm sorry, but I cannot assist you. Even if I were in the condition to help, it would be very difficult to reach Reggigigas anyway- we've never been on the best terms with him." "One of my brothers would be your best bet, young one. I suggest going to see my brother Registeel, as he is rather close to here... and tell the other rescue teams- they are all wrong. Deoxys will be striking the Legendaries in the farthest corners of the world. Why else would he start on the top of the world with me? I would not be suprised if Rayquaza has already fallen." He then let out an icy sigh. "I do not know why Arceus did not warn us of this intruder... but I hope he does something about it. If you wouldn't mind, I'd like to be left alone." |

(Oh, Ballos' left eye, this post is way overdue. Sorry, everyone!) Sparky wasn't too surprised by Regice's statement--thinking like a villain, going after a group of Legendaries at once seemed way too predictable. "Thank you for your help, Regice...nobody's going to want to hear this, but the truth must be heard. I'll leave you alone now..." After Sparky left, he began his sprint back to Stoutland Guild. He considered uttering a prayer to Arceus beforehand, but he figured it would be disrespectful...and after what Regice had said, he wasn't sure if it would make a difference. --- Sparky found Team Illuminara exactly where he expected them--lounging about in their quarters. When he saw him approaching, Lyte jumped up, eyes shining. "Sparky! Good news--" "--and I've got bad news to counter it. Registeel isn't Deoxys' next target!" That put Lyte back in his chair. "Darn. There goes my good news. So, what now?" "I don't know, I thought you might. Regice said that the guy's going after obscure Legendaries, probably because they won't see support until it's way too late. He'll always be where we don't expect him, and chasing isn't going to work, so..." "So, we pick one and wait for him to come to us." "But who do we pick?" "We'll cross that bridge when we come to it. For now...we should eat." With their conversation halted for now, Team Illuminara moved in an organized, single-file line towards the kitchen for dinner. |
