Espeon and Umbreon left their room quietly. They had been speaking about private matters. The two started towards the meal room, eager to once again eat. |

Butterfree had again announced that the meal was ready, and, yet again, teams started to pour in from the upstairs and downstairs alike. Electrostriker was first to sit down, and Electrode beckoned Victreebel over. "Hey, buddy... I heard about-" "Yeah, I know... Ugh, we don't even know who did it, but I have a few guesses..." he said, glancing over at Lyte, who was in line at that spot. When Electrode saw that, he scoffed. "Oh, Victreebel, there's no way he could've done it- it would wreck Sparky and most likely himself." "So? He was on the same floor as us, he was the only one that could've done it. We saw Swampert disappear farther into the marsh, and there were no other Pokemon down there that knew it... It had to be him." "Well, I... Uh..." Electrode was at a loss for words until Magneton stepped in. "He wouldn't risk his teammates' well- being just to take down one Pokemon. Maybe it was just a tremor." "Hmph. All I know is that one of them did it." He then played around with his fork, despondent that he was out of the race after nearly two months of hard work. |

It didn't take long for Team Illuminara to notice that they were being stared at. With all the chatter in the room, none of the team could pick up what was being said, but from the way it sounded, it wasn't pleasant. "What do you think their deal is?" Sparky quietly said to Whisp, figuring it was better to make sure they didn't hear, either. "Oh, who knows?" came her simple response, "they're probably just mad they got sniped on their bounty." The Team quietly got their food, and took a seat in the dining hall. Sparky was going to look around for Team Polarity and invite them to sit with him, but after a minute, he realized he'd never find them in this crowd. He rejoined Whisp, quickly eating with her--he was in no rush, it was merely instinct for them. Meanwhile, Lyte ate his dinner slowly, more focused on listening to the chatter... |

Espeon and Umbreon chanced upon Team Illuminara when looking for a place to eat. Espeon: Oh, um, hi. Mind if we sit here? |

"Oh, sure!" Sparky responded with a smile. "We don't talk much at the table, but you're more than welcome to sit with us." Figuring that the new Expedition Team wanted to talk strategy, Team Illuminara was more than happy to help out. So...I assume you've heard the news? Are you one of the crazy teams that's thinking about doing something?" |

"Er... Not really." Umbreon responded as Team Polarity sat down next to them. "It seems a bit... Out of our league." |

"Ah, well, that's good to know." Sparky said with a sigh of relief. "Lots of Expedition Teams have gone and gotten themselves killed, trying to be like the Temporal Heroes or the Bringers of Order. I'm glad to see that you know your limitations as a team, and I hope that you're working to improve them every day." "That's it!" Whisp suddenly shouted, badly startling everyone at the table. "Ah! What is it, Whisp?!" "The perfect choice! I know which Legendary we can locate and guard! He's obscure, he's valuable...it's perfect!" At this, Lyte finally decided to speak up. "Well, who is it?" "...Well, before I tell, I think I'll ask what Team Polarity's plans are..." Whisp briefly related the information that both she and Sparky had gathered. "...and so, what I think is that each Legendary should swiftly be located and guarded, so that we at least have a chance to defeat this Deoxys fellow. With all this in mind...are you still going to do nothing, or would you perhaps like to tag along with us?" |

"Tag along?" Umbreon asked. "We could easily get ki-" "What Umbreon means is, we'd LOVE to come along!" Espeon interrupted. Umbreon looked quite annoyed. "Psiona! Warum hast du das getan?" Umbreon whispered franticly. "Wenn du nicht meine freundin bin, ich-" "Du was?" Espion asked. "...Nichts." Umbreon replied sheepishly. "Sorry about that." Espeon told the others. |

Whisp had been expecting the new team to decline, but when they got into their heated argument, she was puzzled. German was one of the languages she'd neglected to study since her death, but she had picked up enough to know that "nichts" meant "nothing." "Your partner seems very...submissive. Half the point of a team is to work together, so rather than just submitting, you should strategize! Discuss what each of you believe the best plan of action is, and why you think so. It'll help you come to an agreement--and, who knows, it might improve your synergy." Edited by CHAOS_FANTAZY, Aug 25 2012, 01:15 PM.

Umbreon was quiet. "We try not to argue, though if you say that it could help..." Espeon said. Then, Espeon and Umbreon quietly began to speak to one another over the subject. In German, of course. They soon reached a decision. "I suppose we'll come along." Umbreon said as Espeon suddenly nuzzled Umbreon. "Psiona, nicht jetzt!" Umbreon whispered franticly. |

Electrode had overheard the frantic arguement in the odd language a table or two behind them, and saw Whisp talking to the two crazy Eeveelutions. "Hmm, those guys sure are strange. Anyway, Victreebel, you must remember that it isn't plausible that an Earthquake can travel so far. You must've just came across a tremor." Victreebel looked agreeable on the subject, but then he had a sudden brain surge. "No. No, that Charizard definitely did it. I used Sunny Day in that dungeon to boost my Solarbeam, and Fire-types get energy from it... He used it since he got extra power from my Sunny Day. It makes perfect sense!" "No it doesn't. Earthquake isn't powered by Sunny Day. You must stop worrying about this-" "I lost two whole months of work on this, Electrode!" he shouted, startling the tables next to them. "Two freaking months! And you're telling me I shouldn't worry about it!?" Electrode was stunned at his response, and did not say anything more. Victreebel sneered, "I thought so," and finished his food, leaving the table in a huff. Tangela and Breloom only shrugged at Electrode. "Just give him time. You know he loves competition." Electrode frowned, then nodded. --- Meanwhile, a Kingler, with his squad of a Wailmer and a Pellipper, were sitting next to Lyte's rescue team. Between bites of food, the three were discussing the news. "... Gone, they're all gone. Three more *crunch* teams are missing..." "... heard about that, actually. En route to their protect zones, right?" "Yup... way up north, apparently. Didn't *gulp* make it..." "Which ones?" "Not sure... think one of them was some Poison team... Here's the bulliten, got one from *munch* up in town." The Kingler handed it to his teammates, who read it. "So this Deoxys fellow is attacking at random. No target, no course, just snapping teams up wherever he chooses." He clasped his large pincer together to emphasize his point. The two team members looked warily at each other, then continued with their food in silence. |

"Well, if you say so." Whisp's expression turned serious, and she dropped her voice to a whisper. "Okay. So...we're going to find and guard Victini. He's obscure, which seems to be the target, and he's definitely powerful...why do you think he's locked away?" "Only one problem with that, Whisp...we've been looking for months, and we haven't even come close to finding Victini's hideout!" At the objection from Lyte, Whisp smiled and produced a map of the ocean Southeast of their location. An area of the map was circled in black. "Wrong. I had good news this morning--I just forgot about it from the Ludicolo attack. Last night...since I don't need sleep...I pinned the location of Lighthouse Tower to be somewhere in this area." She pointed to the circled area. "And, as we all know, that's where we'll find Victini." Team Illuminara quickly finished their dinner after the excited conversation. They would get to sleep soon, to rest for the journey before them, but they wanted to listen to the chatter and see if they could learn anything from the grape vine. Lyte noticed that the team from before was not blowing off their anger--something about "two months of progress." Did I break a combo or something? True shame... Sparky listened intently to the conversation of the Water-based team--who could definitely use a lesson in table manners-- beside him. He was less worried about the fact that Deoxys wasn't attacking only Legendaries and more concerned about the Teams that had been attacked. Surely, this wouldn't interfere with their plan... When the majority of the crowd filtered out of the cafeteria, the Team quietly left as well, retiring to their quarters and looking forward to a good night's sleep. |

Espeon and Umbreon finished their dinners. They figured that the Moonlit Forest was on the path they would take anyway, so they should be able to do both jobs. Team Polarity made their way back to their room, where they lied down on their beds. "Guten Nacht, meine Psiona." Umbreon told Espeon. "Guten Nacht, meine Nachtara. Hab guten Treumen." Espeon replied before the two fell asleep. |

After a good night's rest, Team Illuminara rose from their beds, feeling well-prepared for what lie ahead of them. After all these months of searching, they felt they had finally pinned the location of Lighthouse Tower, where Victini hid himself from the world...they could only pray that Whisp's calculations were correct. The group strode out into the lobby, to find that they had woken up rather early--no one was even around. Though the Expedition Team was eager to go, Illuminara couldn't betray their promise to Team Polarity--so, taking a seat by the ladders, they waited. |

Espeon and Umbreon got up and got ready for the missions, then they went to Team Illuminara. "Hiya!" Espeon said cheerfully. Her fur was quite smooth and well combed, but Umbreon's fur was somewhat messy, and she simply groaned a little. She wasn't a morning person. |

(Don't die on me yet, Pokemon!) The rescue guild was still quiet for the most part. It was rare to see such a busy guild so calm, though there were still a few scattered teams dispersed through the rooms. One of these was coming up the ladder area now. A Kingler had made his way up the ladder, along with his two teammates. It was the same team that had sat right next to Sparky last night during dinner, and due to the amount of food they ate there, it was suprising to see them up so early. "Gurgh... why are we... yawn... up so early again, Kingler?" the Wailmer asked sleepily. "You know I've told you this before. We're headed off to Brinewash Sea to take that shortcut to... you know... that place," he answered. "Can't quite remember where it was. Somewhere in the Northeast I think." "What does it hold there, anyway?" "Pokemon say that there's a huge steel tube thing if you get past Brinewash. Apparently, some rare Pokemon was playing near it- I think it might be a legendary." "A legendary... playing in a steel tube? You're a real nutcase, Kingler," Pelliper groaned. "Aw, can it, Pelliper. Even if it's not there, why not see what it's like? We've never been to Brinewash before... might as well check it out." Pelliper shrugged as he pulled out his map. "That's where we're going, right?" he stated, pointing to a certain spot on the map. Kingler squinted his eyes and nodded. "Yup. Come on, let's get out of here. Time is wasting!" The two team members shrugged and hurried after their captain as he sidestepped out the door. |

Upon hearing the other team, Lyte looked at Whisp, a concerned expression on his face. "Well, one of us must be right," she responded, "and if we happen to be wrong, we'll just have to find where they're at. It'll be pretty easy, hopefully." The Team quietly walked through town, which, despite the early morning, was already functioning in full. Sparky dashed ahead, making a withdrawal from the Bank--a creepy Cofagrigus grinned and handed him the money--and the group walked together to the coastline, where a harbor sat quietly. Not many people came out this way, but not many people needed this service. "Hello, we'd like to charter a Wailord to this location," Lyte said as he produced the map. The Wailmer behind the counter regarded him incredulously, but when Sparky jumped up and placed the money on the desk, his expression changed. "Money talks," Whisp said to Team Polarity, "and there are few things you can't buy from reasonable Pokemon for the right price." |

"Of course." Umbreon said. "Economics and all that. Anyways, we sorta also have a mission at the Moonlit Woods, but they are on the way anyeay. Just letting you know." "I hope it doesn't interfere." Espeon said. "We probably should have said this before. Sorry." |

Blastoise tapped his foot impatiently as he waited at the crossroads. "Where the heck are those three?" he muttered to his teammates as they sat. "Maybe they forgot about how we were supposed to head out?" Poliwrath suggested. "Lyte's not the kind of guy who would forget something like this... unless he's off on some quest of his own," he remarked. "I guess he won't be coming with us." "Just give him 5 more minutes. You know he sleeps in pretty often- you were his best friend while you two were just starting out," Tentacruel told him. Blastoise grumbled a bit, but nodded. "Fine. Five more minutes, but after that, I'm leaving." He then nodded to Pidgeot and Team Stratoskimmers as they took off- but not in the direction they were expecting. "Pidgeot! Where are you going? Metaltech is north!" "We're headed for Moltres instead!" the leader answered. "We figured being Flying Type we would have a tough time there." They zoomed off toward Moltres' roosting place, leaving Blastoise slightly worried. --- The Wailmer looked suspiciously at the team, but took the money and showed them the ride. "Kind of suprised you'd be heading out there, to be honest. It's a ways there, but this guy'll get you there fast. Safe travels! If you aren't leaving now, I can keep him here waiting for you with no extra charge. Just tell me when you wish to ship out." |

Whisp raised an eyebrow when the team brought up their mission. They were about to set out into the middle of the ocean--how could a forest possibly be in the way? "Well, Rescue missions can go anywhere from three to seven days before the Pokemon either muscles it out on their own or...well...dies. Outlaws and Escorts normally don't fade out like that, but it's still probably a safe bet to do them before a week's duration...if the mission is getting close to expiring, you go do that, but if not, you can really afford to come along with us, at least for today." "Oh, trust me, we have our reasons," Lyte said with a smile. After mulling it over to himself, something occurred to him that he had forgotten to do--"oh, yeah! Sparky, run back into town and use the bounty from taking out Swampert to buy food supplies and--if they have any--Reviver Seeds for the trip." Nodding briefly after each instruction, Sparky dashed back off to the city. Lyte tried to relax and wait patiently, but he felt a little on edge with the Wailmer looking at him the way that he was. |
