Yeah no... The funny thing about dormant viruses that lie inside the body is the body knows its infected and will respond with the following symptoms: Fatigue, Fever (low grade to mild grade or 99-100.5), sweating, and/or nausea. Sneezing and coughing are not death sentences in a disease, if anything it is a very good thing as that is how your body clears out the dead virus bodies and yes it is true that both do spread germs and thats because both waste management techniques are indiscriminate (a live virus body will go with its dead virus bodies if in the wrong place at right time). Instead, SARS, H1N1, and H5N1 killed more easily. In the case of SARS it attacked the Mucus Membranes in the lungs stimulating them to flush out the SARS virus by making more mucus in the deep lung, which is a place that is only used when you do strenuous activity like saving your god damn life. The body thought it was in danger so adrenaline was released in massive quantities for extended periods of time stopping the heart. The body then was still able to expel mucus out while simultaneously killing the SARS virus trapped in the Mucus. This is a highly visible symptom that the people we're told to look for and a simple epi-pen filled with synthetic serotonin saved lives. However, by the time it got to that point SARS was figured out by the Immune system and stopped, the peoples memory T-Cells and live virus cultures in sterile labs then were used to develop an active vaccine (given upon suspected infection) and a dead vaccine (given before infection to fool the body). H1N1 and H5N1 killed more brutally by attacking the cardiovascular system directing resulting in Pulmonary Embolisms and Hemorrhaging. In both cases the patient was encouraged to cough so doctors knew if they were coughing up blood or not. However, like most diseases they started in the respiratory system and could be spotted and stopped before the reached their target systems. In each cases however they were new strains of Influenza Virus (AKA Spanish Flu or Flu) and Tami-Flu kicked ass like no tomorrow. Instead a plague like what Matarchi is describing would have the following characteristics. Target System: Cardiovascular Method: Dead Bodies (*gasp* like the Bubonic Plague) Stage One Symptoms: Low Grade to Mild Grade Fever Nausea Fatigue Stage Two Symptoms: Mild Grade to High Grade Fever Nausea Fatigue Dementia Runny Nose Diarrhea Vomiting Headache Coughing Stage Three Symptoms: Pulmonary Hemorrhaging Pulmonary Embolism Stroke Internal Bleeding Blacking of Extremities Coughing up Blood High Grade Fever Nausea Fatigue Dementia Runny Nose Diarrhea Vomiting Headache Coma Stage Four Death Virus Body Qualities* Heat Resistant Cold Resistant High Infection Chance Virus Body Deficiencies Low Infected Count Easily Quarantined Highly Visible Symptoms Can only spread via contact with Dead Bodies Pandemic Time Length: Three Months. |

The birds would get infected and die is what he's saying...and if it infects birds and it doesn't kill them then it has failed as virus and can not transfer to humans unless its through undercooked meat then it would infect the gastrointestinal tract and one would die of dehydration by a horrible vomiting or diarrhea death. Regardless, a respiratory disease needs close person-to-person contact with an infected individuals respiratory fluids. SARS only spread because Chinese Culture is a dirty culture (i.e not washing hands ect.) which is why it hit the hardest there rather than in other countries that are cleaner. In each case of infection it is because people did not wash their hands were as in the West SARS was virtually non-existent. Also the rate of infection was high and symptoms very visible. If you notice, that the rate of new infections pretty much peaked in December of 2002 and by May of 2003 the new cases were in the single digits. Then came June...and there were no more cases. H1N1 and H5N1 all had the same run through. The problem with cross species disease is the host, Humans are not a very good host for massive amounts of Bacteria and Viruses. More so Viruses. Especially if they come from other species. |

Why do you guys think I mean respitory or otherwise? I don't mean SARS. China has population and other issues contributing to this. From environmental factors, to population, to general poverty, to an education system curbed to meet population needs, where only the best get positions, to inability to keep clean streets and houses due to people. It pretty much starts and is all due to the amount of people. |

Then, as for the last statement, you could wait it out, find a vaccine, or just not participate. You guys are missing the point, this is to see if you guys will actually be able to get a nation from crumbling, some reality has to be sacrificed. I am trying to make an amusing RP, but you guys are trying to make it just about crowd panic, not actual control. You are killing a subject trying to bring much needed RP without starting a war, by trying something new for once. |
