I have installed a skin called "Apocament", which I took from the IF skin index at Invisionfree Skin Zone(now called Zetaboards Theme Zone). There is one other skin, called "Insignia" which uses black(or a dark gray) and red. The few skins that blend literal black and red have extremely bright and gaudy reds that make it hard to see the board text. I also saw one skin, a blue and green combination, that looked beautiful. This skin, EternalBattra, also comes with its own set of buttons and markers, which I can install for you if you want to keep this skin. if not I'll install the "Insignia" skin for your inspection. If you don't like this, or other skins I install, don't fret as I can easily remove them and replace them with something else until we have a skin you like.  Late edit: I've installed a quickie banner image to give you an idea of what a banner would look like over the index page. |

I'm glad you like this skin. I will download and install the buttons and markers tomorrow(or Thursday). They will of course match the skin. I will communicate with an internet friend of mine about making an improved banner featuring Mothra that will match this skin. I'm going to add two(2) topics a week to this site. Something to consider: -there are, IMO, too many categories and forums and being empty they will, right or wrong, spook off people from wanting to join this message board. Moonlight Mothra, your "target" of prospective members for this message board should be fellow fans of Mothra, to start. This message board is, after all, named after the winged kaiju. I'm going to PM Donny at Kaiju Galaxy and ask him, as a favor to me, to register here. I don't think he'll have time to post here very often but you will have another registration, which is always good for the site. The biggest thing I would suggest you do, right now, is restrict the categories/forums of this message board to Mothra/other kaiju/movies(other genres) and "casual chat". If you take my advice I believe this site can reach 1000 posts by the end of 2008, and have ten(10) registered members(or a little more), and with posting activity from two or three other people aside from you, me and Matthew.

They are based on my own experience as a message board admin and also on feedback and other constructive criticism I have received from staffers at resource/support boards who evaluated my own site. |

Let me make a suggestion: I'll look over this site this Friday(late afternoon or early evening) and I'll send you a list(by PM) of what I would eliminate off the main index page. I'd do it sooner but it's tough for me to find the time on a work night. When you and I get finished, we'll have your site more streamlined entering next week and then I'll start advertising this site via sig image at other boards I post at. As I mentioned before, I believe a reasonable goal for this site would be 1000 posts and a total of ten(10) members registered by the end of the year. This will be a good foundation from which to build on for 2009.

After looking over the main index page of this message board, this is how I would structure this site, for now: Category: BOARD INFO Forums: - News & Updates, Rules, Suggestion Box Category: GODZILLA Forums: Showa Godzilla Films, Heisei Godzilla Films, Millenium Godzilla Films, Godzilla Miscellaneous(would include the American G movie) Category: OTHER GIANT MONSTERS Forums: The "Rebirth Of Mothra" 90's trilogy of films, Mothra(1961), King Kong, Gamera, Cloverfield Category: SCI-FI & HORROR Forums: (can make various horror movie related topic threads at your leisure here) Category: ARTS, ENTERTAINMENT & LEISURE Forums: Fan Submissions(writing), Fan Submissions(video), Fan Submissions(artwork and graphics), Books, Magazines & Other Printed Media, Casual Chat(Off Topic) The thing is, you want to keep things organized and "lean" to start. It will be much easier to fill a board structured the way I have things grouped here with posts, then build on this over time. This is how I would reconfigure this site. I can promise you that if I do this, and with some advertising on our parts, you will gain more activity here in the coming weeks and months. Let me know what you think and if you give me the go ahead I will edit the main index page. Thanks. |

I think it's very good. Although since the name of the board has Mothra's name in it, I believe leaving the Mothra category as is. Other than that, I think that would be good. You have the go ahead for it. The Mothra one is the only one I would suggest leaving alone. ~_^ |
