Overall the pace was slow and there is no way the Mount should have been behind in points at any time. Felt the big men didn't show up at all. Lucky break with the three from Norfleet at the buzzer. Well, Monmouth has always been one of those Princeton-type teams with a complex defense, so it was difficult for the Mount and sometimes, any team to figure out. The key was the outside shooting of the Mount. If they would have recognized that was where the money was and hit the shots, the game would not have been close. Monmouth stifled them, but that is fine since it can happen to any team that plays a defense like that. I was actually happy with Lamar in the first half being unselfish. Howeverrrrrrrr, in the 2nd half he regressed and was his old self, trying to pass inside to players guarded by 3 or 4 Hawks. It is one thing to be unselfish, but geeze you don't just throw the ball anywhere in an attempt to quell the reputation. Once again the real Trice came out in the 2nd half. I did see a lil spark by Jean finally. The one 3 he made, I seen a confident look in his eyes way before he took the shot. Burke needs to put his differences aside with Jean and just play him more and more- I believe Burke is sort of still punishing jean for him sitting out so long. Damn let that go! Jean could be huge down the stretch and into the tourney. Another MVP in store for him in the tourney??? Hey, a fan, has gotta have dreams don't I?
