This is what you call a down-swing, when you run so bad it makes you feel sick ![]() Did some reading up on it, the only thing you can do is suck it up and stick to what you know and hope that the sun will shine soon hehehe.. some people actually have this for weeks... |

Sometimes it is ok to take a small rest of a couple of days and do some other things or watch some videos on DC and start again with a fresh mind

And I thought I was running bad! Sorry to hear it's not going too well. Maybe is a good time to take a few days break over Christmas. You just running bad, spewing, or a combo of both? You're a much better player than myself with a higher level of thinking when it comes to hand reading and such, but I wonder if you're getting ahead of yourself at this level slightly? Maybe try keeping it simple for a few sessions, playing more fit or fold until you get your confidence back. |

Haven't figured out the exact reason yet but its definately not that much spew. It's also not running (that) bad since I did make hands at times and got to stack people and raked in nice pots. It seems to me that the biggest problems are caused playing on tables with 2 or more people that play VPIP higher than 60 and they seem to be running extremely well. My biggest profits come from TAGs that misplay their hand (go figure?!) but this doesn't compensate enough against the suck-outs and bad beats I receive from the drunks and tourists. Overall I've played over 15k hands at 5NL now and the one thing that is really sticking with me is the rediculous ways in which these players that have no clue whatsover get to beat me, even when my reads are spot on... Now that I'm on minus $15 overall I'm dropping back to 2NL (not for bankroll reasons since I'm rolled for 40 BIs for 5NL still) and am going to learn to play 6 tables ABC on somewhat "tighter" less fishy tables... At the moment I feel there is more money to be gained from exploiting regulars than playing against frigging whales...... |

Propher: Why dont you post your top 5 or top 10 hands were you lost most money here or and DC so that we can analyze them? |

I've been having the same problems with the whales. I find the tighter player are a lot easier to read and play against because they still have major leaks at this level. It's just so annoying playing a 50+/15 idiot who calls you down and hits his card on the river. Think I might try playing the tighter tables too. Btw I lost 4BI in 1 hour last night, so we're both losing at the same rate

@sabio: well I lost $60 (about 25% of my bankroll) so at the moment I don't feel like reliving those hands. Most of them are standard anyway, like a $14 dollar pot all in on the flop with the nut flush and opponent makes FH on the turn. $8 dollar all in preflop versus 92VPIP who has AQ and flops a Q, etc., etc. @Aescwine: maybe we just don't play correctly against them? |
