Can't get to Citadel - issue; Token failure

It depends if you are using a proxy or not, or your Internet provider is. A satellite often counts as such because the ends usually multiplex the stream. Cheaper Internet providers also sometimes get their bandwith indirect-indirect, so from a client from the main cloud producers (think AT&T, BT, DTAG etc) and do not always have the best BGP4 publishing protocols in place, which means that you might not even be able to "find" certain IP addresses in the world. Being able to directly log in to the citadel is a good and simple possibility, but alas....

However... Jagex has several ways to circumvent the unreachability - when you already got access to the game, they could for instance make the transition to the citadel without sneakily logging people out and in again or by creating a tunnel (which would make everything more safe too). They won't invest in someone with actual networking knowledge, so they will have to do with the people they have. They only have a hammer... when they encounter anything else than a nail, they are out of options. :smartass
