Just watched it. Gotta say, it was good. I mean really good. I never watched the Star Trek series so I can't complain/compliment about anything Trekkies may have noticed. Luckily, I knew enough to spot some of the more obvious Star Trek references. Decent amount of action and humor throughout. I wasn't keen on some of the lighting they did for some scenes but I got over it. I recommend seeing this movie. "Live long and prosper."

This movie is widely acclaimed by fans, critics and non-fans alike.

It's that good.

In fact, this movie actually gained my interest in Star Trek. Heck, even my mom loved it (my dad approved of it, greatly). The movie did a good job in letting the new audience connect with the characters, while throwing a a twist. The writing and acting was so solid that I was never bored. I practically laughed out loud at the humor and was completely immersed in the action and drama. Zachery Quinto, Karl Urban, and Simon Pegg do great justice from what I can tell (dad agrees again), and so do the other actors. It was a big treat to have Leonard Nimoy in the movie. And, also I'm impressed how well they handled the time travel plot line without churning out too many plotholes.

It's simply a worthwhile movie. I can't wait to get it on DVD (or Blu Ray).
