Welp, now that it's out both on DVD and Nicktoons, might as well make a big topic about it. Never mind there's one on the Japanese broadcast.

Anyway...here's my thoughts. The dub is great. The script is a lot more accurate and the writing is sharper. The acting in general is better, too.

Colleen Clinkenbeard's Gohan is great, but though it's not a believable 5 year old boy as much as I'd hate to admit. All I hear is Luffy sometimes. But, it's a improvement from Stephanie Nadolony's Gohan (who I think is better as Kid Goku). Monica Rial's Bulma sounds more intelligent, but still does those tangents she has well. Doesn't sound like a valley girl. Doc Morgan is awesome as the new narrator, but sometimes I think he doesn't fit the show.

Now for the returning actors. Of ALL of them, Chris Sabat's Piccolo, Sean Schemmel's Goku and Sonny Strait's Krillin stand out the most. Sabat's Piccolo is less gruff, but more on his lower register. He actually sounds more natural, and his line reads actually sound...badass! Sonny Strait's Krillin has always been good, and now that he has a better script to work with, it sounds better. Sean Schemmel's Goku...actually now...sounds...like Goku. He sounds really goofy. Made him preppy sounding most of the time. It's not consistent, but it fits his character a lot more.

The only ones that don't stick out are Linda Young's Freeza, Justin Cook's Radditz and Sonny Strait's Bardock. Strait's Bardock is here because when he screams it sounds like Usopp screaming, which is disappointing. Guess he doesn't have a voice for Bardock anymore. Cook's Radditz sounds like he's trying too hard to be superior. Never liked Linda Young's Freeza. I don't like Schemmel's King Kai, but there's one scene that stopped him from joining those three.

Best of all, it's over eight thousand! And it's not overacted either.

Yes everybody, that was the "big thing".

To the people that thought I was "loitering it over" you, I literally was NOT ALLOWED to say what it was without getting in major trouble. I was attempting to drop hints to you guys and essentially "say it without actually saying it". I apologize again for coming off the wrong way, but at the very least I hope you guys know where I was coming from and what position I was in.

That aside, now that it's -allowed- to be talked about, let me just say that it's going to be ****ing AMAZING. Still can't say who the actor is, but like I teased on another thread, the person they chose is someone I never even thought would be, but is THE perfect English equivalent to Ryuusei Nakao. It's a voice the actor I don't think has ever done before, either, so there's nothing to go looking for that will even give you a hint as to what it's like. I have full confidence that this guy's gonna knock it outta the park and finally show everyone in the US how Freeza is really supposed to be like.

Also, as it's been stated already, Freeza's not the only one getting a new voice. In fact I'll go as far to say that prettymuch all of Freeza's henchmen are getting voice changes, as far as I know.

Now that my excitement toned down, I have to admit I feel kind of bad that she's getting replaced like that.

Well, now that the dub's on hiatus, might as well give my review.

The Ginyu Force turned out to be disappointing. A BIG disappointment. And that's more because of the directional choice to make the new voice actors be impersonations of Sabat. This is more on Vic Mignogna's Burter and Jason Liebrecht's Jeice. Seriously. What was the point in taking out Sabat if they're just gonna make their new actors use the same voice type? And Sabat's Recoome...just....why? He still has that DERP voice, that's not really appropriate for the character. However, I do like R. Bruce Elliot's and Greg Ayres' Ginyu and Guldo, since they do somewhat of their own thing (though technically Elliot's Ginyu is kind of a mix of the previous Ginyu actors).

Chris Sabat's Vegeta actually feels like....Vegeta...not angry guy #5. He may drop to his Piccolo voice at times, sure, but he really nails his arrogance, and calm personality this time 'round. Too bad sometimes his Yamcha falls back to his surfer dude-ish voice...oy...

Chris Ayres' Freeza just got better as he tried to find a good middle ground. At first it sounded something close to Pauline Newstone, but it turned into some more regal spawn of Invader Zim, and I love it. His performance has become so entertaining that he's become a deadringer for Ryusei Nakao. On top of that, J. Michael Tatum's writing for Freeza's regal dialogue was really well done.

Freeza: "So you're saying my foreboding is nothing more than childish paranoia?"

Speaking of J. Michael Tatum, his Zarbon is great. Doesn't sound like a stereotype gay guy. He sounds a bit flamboyant, sure. But, no he sounds more no-nonsense if anything. John Swasey's much better than the other guy on Dodoria, too.

The rest of the cast do a pretty bang up job so far. Though Sean's Goku keeps turning into a different character every time he tries to be serious, but I still enjoy his Goku.
