I find myself drawn towards Galaxy and Android for some reason and I can't figure out why. Could I do better or is this a reasonable path? Half of what I expect to use one for is work, so a good camera, GPS, email, and being able to search information quickly are a must. Though I imagine most smartphones are equipped with these capabilities. The other half would be some games here and there for downtime and general web usage. I wouldn't be using heavy data draining apps like YouTube or Netflix, so I assume a 2-3GB plan would suffice. What about initial app download sizes? On average how large are they? As for storage I'm thinking 64GB maybe? My understanding is that photos can eat memory up pretty quickly. So far I've only checked out Verizon and T-Mobile and the latter wins out for price alone. Currently the phone that I'm looking at is the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 with a 3GB plan under T-Mobile. Again I'm only dipping my toes on the water here. How do pay-as-you-go plans compare to contracts? Can I still take advantage of everything a phone under contract can? Or would opting for a free phone under a 2-year contract be worth considering? I've already spoken to a co-worker about this and she's given me a decent jumping off point, but I'm still looking for more opinions. |

Regular porn watching on my data plan doesn't even get me past 3gb a month, so you'll be fine with that. I think pay-as-you-go is going to get you all the same options--all you're getting from the phone service is access to 4G and calls. They can't, like, brick your device or anything. |

I have a smartphone but I still don't think I can help much. I will say, however, that iPhones are generally not that great (Apple blows, and there's too many restrictions on an iPhone). I'd go with an Android or something instead. |

I think I have mostly settled on the Galaxy Note 4 with T-Moble service, but I'm still not jumping in just yet. Pay-as-you-go was my desired option early on, but I think I'd end up possibly spending more. |
