Please say the name of your weapon, what game the weapon came from, who used it, and any other information that you feel is necessary. You may also post a picture. Remember that a nomination must be approved first before it becomes a contestant in the tournament. All nominations (pending approved and approved) will be listed in this first post. Pending Nominations: Megaman Prinny Gunlance Teleporter Lance Plasmids Chainsword Camera Obscura The Great Knife Xel'naga Artifact Cerberus Falcon Blade Approved Nominations: Master Sword Keyblade Sword of Seals Frostmourne Ragnell Mage Masher Psycho Wand Galaxia Scarborough Fair The Soul Eater Rune Star Dragon Sword Tenloss Disrupter Rifle R.Y.N.O. This probably doesn't belong in this contest, but I'll nominate it anyway. If it doesn't get approved, I understand, since I'm not really sure about it myself. Xel'naga Artifact Origin: Starcraft 2 Used By: Terrans (no specific person) ![]() Pros: - Wipes out all Zerg in the area and causes gradual damage to any survivors for a brief time. - Has the power to... Major SC2 spoilers Cons: - Takes about three minutes to recharge after each use, leaving it completely vulnerable to enemy attacks unless defended. Probably won't get approved, but I can't think of anything else right now. I'll come up with some other nominations soon. |

To help speed things along I’m going to nominate a couple more weapons. Cerberus Origin: Final Fantasy VII (Dirge of Cerberus) ![]() Description: The Cerberus is a semi-automatic, break loading revolver with three barrels and three chambers. It is initially capable of holding 18 shots at once, six per chamber. With in-game customization, it can become lighter, more powerful, or hold more ammunition. A Materia Slot can also be equipped on a chain, allowing the use of different Materia to cast spells from its barrels. Accessories such as a scope for extreme accuracy and automatic reloading mechanisms could also be equipped for added dependability. Pros: -Can fire armor piercing shells at high speeds and at long range -Can be modified to adjust various perimeters (barrels, stock, etc) -Keychains can be attacked to change the gun’s overall properties -Can fire element spells like bullets, resulting in devastating area effects Cons: -It’s perimeters (range, power, speed) can only be adjusted outside of battle -It’s hard to use (weight, etc), so it would be hard to have good accuracy with the weapon if you didn’t know how to use it properly Galaxia Origin: Kirby ![]() Description: The sword Galaxia is a solid gold blade with a ruby embedded in its hilt. It has six (or four) small spikes protruding from the actual blade. Galaxia is also unique in the fact that it emits a powerful consciousness. It can only be claimed as one's own by one who possesses enough power to hold it. Those who are not chosen can either end up being harmed or killed by the sword's overwhelming electric energy, or end up infusing evil upon themselves. Pros: -The blade can be swung so fast it appears as a flash -The blade has enough physical strength to create large crevasses in the ground and slice someone into two -Can parry almost any physical attack at extremely high speeds -Can fire sword beams capable of destroying solid rock Cons: -The blade has short range -It cannot be wielded by anyone, only those strong enough -Is very difficult to master -If the wielder isn’t worthy the weapon could harm or kill them, or even possess them Edited by andaryu, Sep 28 2010, 07:23 PM.

I don't wanna attack you Andaryu, but the Cereberus is simply just a regular gun. Aside from the spells involved, you can read that description and realize it's just as modifiable as a regular gun that is used today, if not less usable in comparison. Additionally, the Galaxia has more downside than upside to it, and in my opinion, that makes it pretty useless when other sword options are more than likely available to the potential wielder. |

Thank you for your contribution, you make some very valid points about the Cerberus. The main reason I nominated it was for variety, I didn't want to nominate swords only and the Cerberus is the only gun I can think of that can use all elements of magic as well. I'd like some firearms to be in the contest too and this one I knew well. Edited by andaryu, Sep 28 2010, 07:57 PM.

Haha, the Cerberus reminded me. XD -drum roll- Scarborough Fair Spoiler: click to toggle *Image is kinda big Origins: Bayonetta Description: A set of four, count 'em, four guns used by the Umbran witch Bayonetta herself. Each have a name; 'Parsley (ever joyous), Sage (ever strong), Rosemary (ever reminiscent), and Thyme (ever courageous).' (See the wikia.) They style a stunning burgundy-red color with gold and silver chains at the end, golden trim, leather on the handle for comfort, and a nice design topped with a jewel on each gun. The name of the set is in reference of an old English song by the same name. Pros: *High rate of 'fire and stopping' power. *Having a gun on each limb is pretty useful; it'd be kind of hard to miss. *If you think about it, they could pack a punch- or a kick. Cons: *If you're not a powerful witch, the Scarborough Fair may be a bit difficult to use. (Not sure if the 'pushing Bayonetta's power to its limits' involve the speed of the weapons.) *Would be difficult to shoot something heavily armored. *Can be difficult to use four guns in such a way. Beware of tripping up. I'll add some more later. ![]() Edit: Cerebus, Cerberus, whatever. >_> It has something to do with three! I don't pronounce how I spell, I promise. I would love to contribute to this, but weapons are not my strong suite when it comes to Games. Trying to think of one and keep coming short. I'll try to get one soon before all the nominations are chosen. Edit, HAHA, I just figured one out after staring at this page for a second then I looked to the left. My Avatar. The Soul Eater Rune. Origin: Suikoden I. ![]() Also known as the "Rune of Life and Death", this rune represents the two inevitabilities. The Rune bends the fate of those around the bearer and drags them into the clutches of death, essentially eating their souls (as is its namesake), while granting the wearer great power. Pros: - Extremely powerful. Has the ability to completely devour the bearer's foes. - Grants the owner immortality so long as he bares the Rune. Cons: - The wearer tends to see those who are beloved to him die, and it consequentially consumes their soul, thus increasing its own power. Basically, the owner is doomed to continue his life alone. In terms of the game's storyline, the soul consumes Tir McDohl's (The true bearer) Father, friend and trusted ally, and Best friend and bodyguard during the game, basically all he's known and loved. - Only has one true owner, (which it eventually finds). The users of the Rune before it finds the true owner are forced to live miserable lives (Or at least close to...depending on how they live them). Even so, the true owner still has a generally unfavorable life, unable to truly find a place in the world because all they love will be consumed. - In the manner of the game, it shares the Magic Usage with other runes the character may bare. While this isn't an issue in Suikoden I, it creates an issue in Suikoden II (In which you can equip 3 Runes). All Runes equipped share the same magic abilites, so if you spend all of your Level 1 magic with another Rune, you cannot use the Soul Eater's Level 1 magic. - Although never voiced within the games, like the other True Runes, it does have a mind of it's own and works on it's own if it needs to. (In the series, there are other True Runes who take other forms and voice and act on their own with no input from others). Speaking of the last Con, there is another weapon I would like to add, from the same series. Star Dragon Sword ![]() Origin: Suikoden I. The Star Dragon Sword's origins are a mystery: (A living, speaking blade) he claims to be the incarnation of the True Night Rune but it may just be embedded in the hilt. It is never elaborated. It excels in destroying creatures of the night (Like Zombies, Vampires and the like), and is the only way to destroy a major villain in the games, Neclord, whose own True Rune prevents his destruction and is only countered by the Sword. Pros: - Extremely powerful blade, possibly one of the strongest in the world. It's refinement alone brings blacksmiths to their knees in it's glory (And is actually the cause of recruitment for a character in Suikoden II). - Power over creatures of the Night, and the ability to bring down any of them. - Overpowers the Moon Rune (Another True Rune in the game's Lore), which otherwise makes the bearer nearly invincible. Cons: - Has a mind of it's own, thus may prevent allowing the user to use it in a fight it does not condone. - Chooses it's own bearer. If it does not like you, you will never be able to wield it. - Can turn on it's own owner (As seen in Suikoden II, when abandoned by Victor (It's original wielder), it exacted revenge by attacking the player when turned to for assistance). Tenloss Disrupter Rifle![]() Origin: Star Wars Jedi Knight II: Jedi Outcast Description: A particularly deadly and precise sniper rifle used by the Rodians on Nar Shadaa, a planet notorious for crime lords and illegal activities. Pros: - Has a very zoom range, moreso than any other sniper rifle I've ever seen in any game. - The primary fire is a relatively weak energy beam that damages an enemy. - The secondary fire, on the other hand, is this weapon's strong point. By zooming in (doesn't have to be all the way) and charging, one is able to actually vaporize most enemies. Cons: - Some NPCs, specifically all bosses in the game, as well as Shadowtroopers, Reborns, and Jedi, are immune to said vaporization, rendering the Tenloss Rifle effectively useless. - Its primary fire is very weak. - Its secondary fire, while obviously very powerful, is also very slow. This is because of the aforementioned charge up time. Needless to say, this leaves you quite vulnerable and susceptible to enemy attack. |

R.Y.N.O. (Rip You a New One) Origin: Ratchet & Clank Description: Originally manufactured by Gadgetron as ultimate in tactical offensive weaponry, the R.Y.N.O was only available from black market vendors. Featuring high-capacity, rapid-fire, auto-tracking missiles, this weapon was simply deemed too dangerous for civilian use. Pros: - Fires seven missiles on a single shot. - Missiles can seek out and destroy multiple targets at once. - High rate of fire. Cons: - Heavy. - Ammunition is expensive and hard to come by. Buster Sword ![]() Origin: Final Fantasy VII Description: It serves as Cloud Strife's main weapon, and was wielded before him by Zack Fair and Angeal Hewley. The Buster Sword is classified as an enormous broadsword (though it has more in common with a backsword). Despite its size, Cloud claims it's not that heavy. From tip to handle, it is approximately five to six feet long, with a single-edged, enormous blade approximately one foot wide. Its original finish sports a bolted, steel base and blade, and there are two holes on the blade near the hilt. Pros: - Incredible power. - Single-edged blade able to cut through nearly anything. Cons: - Extremely heavy and large (depends on wielder). That's all I've got right now. |

![]() Falcon Blade. Origin: Dragon Quest series Pros: Strikes twice per turn Shop-bought, so it's easy to get multiple Equippable by virtually any class/character able to equip Swords Excellent for slaying Metal Slime monsters Cons: Extremely weak Attack power (although the double hits tends to make it better than top-class weapons anyway) |
