Battle 4: Keyblade vs.Tenlos Disrupter Rifle (First Round)

Contestant Data:

Keyblade
Origin: Kingdom Hearts

Posted Image

Description: The Keyblade is a key-shaped weapon that is used by those with strong hearts. There are three known types of Keyblades; Light realm Keyblades, Dark realm Keyblades, and Keyblades of heart. The keyblade is mainly used for defeating heartless and freeing hearts. Light realm keyblade masters are tasked with protecting the realm from darkness and upholding order and balance.

Pros:
- Can be summoned at any time
- If broken, it can reform itself back to it’s original state
- Can seal any lock (or doors) in any universe
- Can unseal any lock (or doors) in any universe
- Can open a portal / gate/ door to other worlds
- Can transform into a vehicle (glider) to allow the wielder to travel between worlds
- Allows the wielder to use magic
(such as elemental magic, healing magic, magnet and gravity)
- Can be thrown and even controlled telepathically
- Can attach keychains to change it’s form, allowing it to become stronger
- The keyblade can only be wielded by it’s chosen master (unless the Keyblade deems another Keyblade user worthy and decides to obey that person instead)
- It has the ability to free hearts, which can separate the heart from the body
Cons:
- Can be be either good (light) or evil (dark) depending on the wielder
- Can be weak or strong, depending on the keychain attached and the wielder
- The Keyblade decides it’s wielder itself. It only deems those with a strong heart worthy (therefore you cannot force it to obey)

Tenloss Disrupter Rifle
Origin: Star Wars Jedi Knight II: Jedi Outcast

Posted Image

Description: A particularly deadly and precise sniper rifle used by the Rodians on Nar Shadaa, a planet notorious for crime lords and illegal activities.

Pros:
- Has a very zoom range, moreso than any other sniper rifle I've ever seen in any game.
- The primary fire is a relatively weak energy beam that damages an enemy.
- The secondary fire, on the other hand, is this weapon's strong point. By zooming in (doesn't have to be all the way) and charging, one is able to actually vaporize most enemies.

Cons:
- Some NPCs, specifically all bosses in the game, as well as Shadowtroopers, Reborns, and Jedi, are immune to said vaporization, rendering the Tenloss Rifle effectively useless.
- Its primary fire is very weak.
- Its secondary fire, while obviously very powerful, is also very slow. This is because of the aforementioned charge up time. Needless to say, this leaves you quite vulnerable and susceptible to enemy attack.

The Tenlos Disrupter Rifle seems to have enough power to kill the Keyblade bearer in one shot with it's secondary fire. The primary shot could easily be deflected by the keyblade. Magic may prevent the secondary shot to connect however, the keyblade itself allows the user to use magic, and in this case Graivty would be quite effective. A gravity field would slow down the shot enough to dodge, or even slow the Tenlos Disrupter's wielder down so that the Keyblade bearer could get in close enough for an assault of attacks.

Would the secondary fire destroy the keyblade is the keyblade was used to block it? The Tenlos has the power to vaporize a target, but the keyblade is indestructible in the sense of it can always be resummoned and reformed even if it is destroyed.

What would happen if the rifle shot the Keyblade? Reforming if broken is one thing, but reforming if disintergrated is another (because other than a few atoms here and there, there wouldn't be anything to reform).

So, Rifle-dude takes a shot at Keyblade-dude from a distance, Keyblade-dude sees it coming and blocks, Keyblade goes bye-bye. And even if it can reform after that, Keyblade-dude is going to be without a weapon until it does.

Very true, the keyblade may not be able to be resummoned if it was hit with that shot. Since vaporize is indeed on a molecular level.

Okay so if the keyblade bearer blocks the shot, it would be over. But what if he didn't block? Keyblade masters are very perceptive so maybe he could tell the Tenlos bearer was preparing an unblockable attack. Would magic and all the other keyblade abilities be enough to defeat the sharpshooter before a secondary shot connected?

We're working on the assumption that Keyblade-dude has never seen the Tenloss Disrupter Rifle before. There's no reason for him to think that the rifle will disintegrate his sword. Logical thing would be to block with his badass-reforms-if-broken-so-I-have-no-reason-to-fear-for-its-safety sword. Can't predict something you've never seen before.

I believe he would be able to sense the weapon preparing an unlockable attack. This is from the Tenlos's contestant data.

The Tenlos bearer obviously isn't going to begin the battle with the vaporizing shot, he will use his primary shot to test his opponent. The keyblade bearer could easily deflect those. Then the vaporizing shot would have to be charged before firing. The keyblade bearer could easily figure out that something was amiss, especially if he was able to deflect the first shots so easily. He could dodge the vaporizing shot and if he needed extra speed the keyblade can transform into a glider type vehicle.

Aren't they trying to kill each other and stuff? Why would a guy with a rifle that happens to have a disintegration setting decide to test someone with notoriously weak primary fire when he could go for the kill? If it wasn't in the rules of the contest that they actually had to 'fight' each other, Rifle-dude would just shoot Keyblade-dude in the back of the head from maximum range, so it's not too far a stretch of the imagination to think Rifle-dude, upon being spotted, would start with his strongest attack while he has the range advantage and can't be punished for its slow start-up.

Yeah that is possible, I just always imagined the match ups to be in like a tournament setting but since that's never been established the best scenario would be whoever would kill who first. It is still possible for the keyblade bearer to dodge the shot. If he were to block then the battle would end, but if he evaded the first shot then the battle really could go either way.

In Jedi Outcast, as long as you're constantly moving, the Tenlos' secondary fire is kinda easy to avoid. But the Keyblade wielder probably wouldn't do that since s/he wouldn't know what to expect from it. It really depends on if the Tenlos wielder used the primary or secondary fire first, though.

The Tenloss Rifle cannot vaporize objects, just living creatures. I forgot to mention that.

I say the Keyblade takes it solely because of that.
