Battle 7: Star Dragon Sword vs. Farsight XR-20 (First Round) Contestant Data: Star Dragon Sword Origin: Suikoden I ![]() The Star Dragon Sword's origins are a mystery: (A living, speaking blade) he claims to be the incarnation of the True Night Rune but it may just be embedded in the hilt. It is never elaborated. It excels in destroying creatures of the night (Like Zombies, Vampires and the like), and is the only way to destroy a major villain in the games, Neclord, whose own True Rune prevents his destruction and is only countered by the Sword. Pros: - Extremely powerful blade, possibly one of the strongest in the world. It's refinement alone brings blacksmiths to their knees in it's glory (And is actually the cause of recruitment for a character in Suikoden II). - Power over creatures of the Night, and the ability to bring down any of them. - Overpowers the Moon Rune (Another True Rune in the game's Lore), which otherwise makes the bearer nearly invincible. Cons: - Has a mind of it's own, thus may prevent allowing the user to use it in a fight it does not condone. - Chooses it's own bearer. If it does not like you, you will never be able to wield it. - Can turn on it's own owner (As seen in Suikoden II, when abandoned by Victor (It's original wielder), it exacted revenge by attacking the player when turned to for assistance). ------ Farsight XR-20 Origin: Perfect Dark ![]() Description: The Farsight XR-20 (often abbreviated Farsight) is a very powerful railgun that can fire through any amount of walls or other obstacles. It can kill any unshielded enemy in one hit regardless of health modifiers or hit location. It is also equipped with an X-ray sight. The primary mode is aimed manually like a Sniper Rifle. X-ray sight means the user can see, and fire through walls for targets. However while it’s zoomed in, it’s impossible to see things around you. The secondary mode actively seeks out and tracks targets while aiming. However it does this slowly, and can be outrun. Pros: - Kills in one shot (unless you have a Perfect Dark universe shield) - Penetrates any and all walls - Has an X-Ray scope to see through walls - The crosshair auto-aims for you - Holds 8 rounds in a clip Cons: - Slow rate of fire - Slow reload - While it auto-aims to enemies it cannot keep up with running enemies BATTLE 7 BEGIN! |

In this battle, the Farsight seems to have the advantage. The Star Dragon Sword wielder could easily be sniped long range by the Farsight. I don't see how the Star Dragon Sword could stop or deflect an incoming shot, so it one hit ever made contact then it would be over. The sword user would have to get close to the Farsight user in order to deal a devistating attack. When the Farsight is reloading that would be the best opportunity. However, by the time the distance was closed, one of the eight Farsight shots would surely meet its mark especially in the hands of a sharpshooter. Edited by andaryu, Oct 14 2010, 12:48 AM.

This seems completely unbalanced, due to the Farsight's clear power over any melee weapon. The wielder of the Star Dragon Sword would need to be extremely fast to be able to dodge any shot, and it's almost 100% that at least 1 out of the 8 original shots from the first clip would hit. |

You need powerful ranged attacks to stop something like the Farisight, and still even then it would be hard to win against it. It is indeed a powerful weapon and it will likely make it to the top and I'm really interested in seeing it's progress. Out of eight shots fired at the Sword wielder, one would most definitely hit. |

I believe it's safe to assume the Farsight has won this one. |
