However, an evil genius, Dr. Wily, plots for world domination and creates his own robot army to take over mankind. Luckily for humanity, Dr. Light outfits one of his domestic robots "Rock" to fight Dr. Wily's creations. Mega Man is born.

Set after the events of Mega Man 8, multiple riots have sprung up all over the world. Whilst many people suspect that this is another plot from Dr. Wily, Dr. Light is stunned to recognize that some of the robots rioting on the TV screen are his own creations. Even more stunning, Dr. Wily appears on television to proclaim that Dr. Light is the evil mastermind behind these latest catastrophic incidents and it's up to Mega Man to clear his creator's name!

You can still nominate it for the tunes that are original, though.

I think games like SMG2 and BBS are more worthy for this category though. I actually did nominate Dissida for it then Slash got me thinking... It should be all about original music that you can't find anywhere else, and it's gotta blow you away.

Yeah, that's true. I think Brawl does have more original music than Dissidia, but now that I think about it some more, not enough to get into the contest since 80% of its soundtrack is from other games.

I should upload some of the Eternal Sonata music for you guys. It's AWESOME. I have the OST, that's how much I love it.

It's all based on the musician Frédéric Chopin's piano work, and it's the best score I've ever heard in a game in a very long time.

Just pulled out the jewel case for the OST, I'll grab some of the songs to upload for examples.

MM9, even though it's obviously going to lose.

It's a little large (111mb), but it has a lot of examples of the music. Except for the Battle and Boss music, nothing is really reused, so there's a ton of tracks (4 CDs). About 60% is subtle, with the mood/theme during the story, but the dungeons and what not have easily noticeable music that is awesome in my opinion.

I almost voted for it, so don't feel bad. It has fantastic music! When MM9 came out, it took the entire video game industry back to the days of the NES.

Thanks for the download link Polan, I'm sampling the music now. Was it you or Shenmock who nominated Eternal Sonata? I know he was playing it a whole bunch too. It's a shame he's missing out on these awards.

I did. I also nominated it for I think Best RPG, but it's probably got no chance there.

The only sound in ES that's not appealing is Beat's voice. IT'S SO BAD!

It will still be fun to talk about the games in the category topic. I really do want to play it, I played the demo and loved it, and I've heard nothing but great things about from several people.

I bet you could find the PS3 version easy now-a-days. It's like 2 years old at this point, so unless it hit a limited print issue, it should be pretty cheap to snag. Well worth it in my opinion, ES is an amazing game.

About $15-16 new on Amazon (There's a guy selling it for 8.75, but then it's 7.99 shipping so...yeah =/)
