Kachou on!
The 3 legendary dogs really aren't significant enough to be playable. They could use the Mew counterpart of 3 generations, but it wouldn't be fair to the 2 generations that get left out. I think they'll just make a PT clone and use Johto starters.

^ Not a bad idea, but maybe switch around the tiers.

Like this:

Light - Cydnaquill
Medium - Crocnaw
Heavy - Meganium

I agree with Andaryu's suggestion of MMZ's Zero. It really is a perfect set, since they built him to be all ranges instead of just close like in X (Because that was his point while X was range). Plus you have the whole same system deal, but I don't think that matters anymore because of Snake.
He would be perfect! MMX Zero is already in Marvel Vs. Capcom 3 and Tatsunoko Vs. Capcom, and he fits in really well there. MMZ Zero has a more childish/cartoonish/simplified design and abilities that would blend flawless into the Smash system. It will probably never happen though, like You and Storm have mentioned before, with Snake being in Brawl it just throws off any kind of possible predictions. :XD:

At this point, within some reason they could probably get any character they wanted. I wouldn't be surprised if most developers felt it an honor to be asked to bring their character into SSB, considering how popular the game is. I know I would be for me if they asked me to use some character I created (Not that I have =( ). By within some reason I mean that you should never think something like Halo or Gears of War characters would ever be in SSB, but Zero, and quite a few other non-Nintendo characters would fit in just fine.

Hell, I think they should bring back more unknowns from the NES days. Who here even remembered Pit existed? I certainly forgot all about that game. It wasn't even that interesting to me. Now, it's being revived with a new game on the 3DS and everything. Plus, didn't Marth/Roy trigger Fire Emblem to start getting released in the US? SSB can do a lot, imagine what kind of games they could bring back if they simply put the game's character in SSB4.

How about no more pokemon. We already have like two hundred playable fucking pokemon. If you MUST add pokemon, then remove some older ones (Mewtwo --> Lucario, for example).

Seriously, what idiot thought that having Pikachu, and adding Pichu was a brilliant idea? Hey guys, let's add another one of the 400 Pokemon, only...get this...it'll be the SAME FUCKING THING, only lighter!

Yeah, Pichu was extremely pointless. Marvel vs. Capcom 2 did this too, only a lot worse (half the roster was useless, such as Servbot).

Smash Bros. needs an axeman. Hector is the only Nintendo one I can think of.

Well, as they haven't put any non-lords in, yes :/ Or give Ike an axe as a special move, as he can use them as a Vanguard in RD (pointless though, imo, since you have to use Ragnell anyway)

Playable Hector? Oh hell yes.

Also, agreeing with Lotus. Especially the part about Pichu.

Melee had a lot of useless characters, and broken ones too. Brawl is significantly more balanced, when you really look at it. Some characters were just plain lolworthless, and others were lolbroken.

Granted we still have a few of those (Ike anyone?) in Brawl, but eh...nothing is perfect. There certainly is less useless characters. The only one I can really think of off hand is Olimar. Even then, there's a slight amount of people who are actually able to play with Olimar. In Melee, a good portion of the characters were mimics of other characters (Marth - Roy, Fox - Falco, Pikachu - Pichu, the list goes on) and really basically worthless.

Be seeing you.
Neku. That would be cool...but it's not going to happen.

Another good choice would be some Kingdom Hearts characters.

Seriously, Kingdom Hearts needs a fighting game. That would be sweet!
